It makes me want to apologize on behalf of white people.

Im glad u made this! I had a white roommate in NYC (love ya Brian!) and he was asking me who I thought was gonna win in the Grammys that year. I saw the list and said, “theyre gonna give the grammy to Macklemore cuz he’s white.”
He couldnt believe it and started laughing thinking i was joking.
NO WAY could Macklemore beat Jay Z, Kendrick, AND Drake in the same category.
Sure enough, Macklemore wins. My white friend Brian couldnt BELIEVE it. Jaw on the floor.
    Welcome to America!

Good synopsis. Just getting coffee this morning was surreal for me. Surrounded by yt men looking at me with suspicions or just off putting or just "other" in a country that my ancestors have been in since at the very least 1820 when they stopped importing slaves. There are yt PEOPLE that are granted the full privilege of humans or Americans that haven't been here a year. You can be yt and German in America and be looked at as an American simply because you are yt. Everyday is a black person's dose of surrealism.

🎯💯 Some of us realize, no one's more "American" than black people! My Middle Eastern and German ancestors came here in 1919 - yet my bro-in-law's family has been here for _hundreds_ of years prior.
I know how it feels to be considered yt one minute and the "Other" the next. I'm Arabic & much of my close family is African-American... I pass for yt cause I'm so fair-skinned, and hear all manner of racist drivel from people expecting me to join in (usually slurring black or Arabic people, ironically), till they realize who they're talking to. I've been called ethnic slurs _and_ been told I "should be proud of being yt!" (which makes me feel the exact opposite). Besides my father, all my close family are poc, as were most friends growing up.
It enrages me, so I can't imagine how it makes you feel. I grew up on Public Enemy since I was 7, before I had black family, learning about civil rights history early, with decent parents, so Ive always known how wicked racism is.
Even tho there are no perfect allies, you've got people dedicated to fighting this insanity. I just wish there were more of us.

Great video! The white man takes up so much screen and the attention of the audience so much so that everybody misses Donald Glover’s cover artwork of his song “Redbone” which is an Atlanta (city not the show) slang word for a very light skinned black person yet…he has a dark skinned black woman on the cover. It’s up to interpretation as to why something from our world (reality) is so prominently placed in the shot.

As a black man, I feel the genuiness in how you portrayed this show.

I'm not sure Donald Glover has ever dealt with or would even know how to portray double consciousness 😂
