It can be interpreted as both a lovely innocent and song about how beauty and love are in the eyes of the beholder, OR it's a far more cynical song about the difficulty of finding love if one is fat and the hopes that one who is fat might have about finding love without - let's say - making the best of oneself, owing to the importance most of us put on attractiveness. A perfect example of Morrissey's brilliant crafting of double meanings!
