We love Queen and Freddie Mercury, so we've edited 4 concert films including a rare recording session of "We Are The Champions" and synced them all up to the isolated vocals in honor of the late, great, Freddie Mercury. This video showcases his presence and consistency as the ultimate stage man. RIP Freddie. You are a rock god.

+toly78 That's what amazes me most about Queen's vocal work. All the background vocals are THEM, no edits other than layering one part on top of another, which makes the fact that it's not autotuned even more impressive. Freddy was said to have such great ability to match his pitch that he'd get "phase" from one part being TOO perfect compared to the one he was layering with.

At the start I thought I heard the piano... then I realised it was in my head...
I thought the exact same! Had to listen a second time because I couldn't be sure. There's also an instrumental only version which highlights what a great structure and musicality the track has and you can totally hear Freddie in your head as you listen!

That's impossible. Music industry nowadays is all about image. Clothes, bad attitude, brands of clothing etc. Freddy and his insane vocals can not be matched by anyone in the industry right now at least the ones under the mainstream light. Very few have singing capabilities for live concerts. Go to a concert and it's all playback. Even the ones we hail as amazing singers in reality cannot pull off even 10% of their album sound (Maria Carey new years eve disaster is a great example). Some metal bands though such as Disturbed pull off amazing lives however not everyone enjoys the harsh sound of metal or enjoy the message/ story behind the lyrics.
AutoTune is just sometimes used as an effect, not necessarily to improve a person's voice. Also, being a great musician is not always about being a great singer - it's how you sing from the heart, make your own music, write your own lyrics and break all the stereotypes people are throwing at you. Fortunately, Freddie Mercury did all of that, especially with Bohemian Rhapsody, which, if released today, "WOULDN'T BE FIT FOR MAINSTREAM MUSIC".
Back in the days, guitar gadgets were HARSHLY CRITICIZED TOO because they are "cheat devices". Technology will always be labeled a cheat, and that's that.
There is no other talent like THIS!
Jonathan Mayer there are millions of people who can sing just as good as Freddie but only a select few have the looks and act to be a performer. Freddie had both which is what made him one of the best singers. One of the winners of the voice had an amazing voice but was really heavy and didn't have the looks or act so there fore he didn't gain any fame.

Freddy took inspiration from opera singers, if you ever saw any documentary on him. you can tell that from his vocals, his notes are drawn out and he takes some really high notes there, and goes very pacefully through the whole song with just a powerful voice. I love his vocals, they trully add to the songs, they don't just play along their role.
Freddie actually had classical opera training! It's easy to tell by his stunning mastery of his upper range, specifically the notes above the passagio!

hashirama senju -- I myself was never a huge fan until I watched both documentaries, Queen and Freddie Mercury on Bio channel. The man was enormously talented. In hindsight, I am so disappointed that I passed on the opportunity to see Queen in New Orleans back in the day.
