    I love this concept! A relatively small, under yet well edited series of daily vlogs for a year, so that you don't get burnt out on just editing, and you get to have fun with planning compositions, planning transitions, playing with the humor, etc etc. I'm actually curious as to how long you spend on each thumbnail for these daily vlogs. Eitherway, Mudan the goat as usual. Thanks for giving the illusion on our behalf that us editors are normal and approachable people! :D

      This is such an interesting way of looking at work, never considered the art/passion side of it

    • @Mudan
      @Mudan  8 місяців тому +32

      I'm actually limiting myself with thumbnails. Usually I use photoshop but I've banned myself from using it so for a thumbnail, I can only take a photo and the max I can do is spruce it up a bit with Lightroom. So the actual "thumbnail editing" is like 5 minutes

    • @sakimple
      @sakimple 8 місяців тому +3

      @@MudanThat's actually a pretty functional way to do it. Like spending less time and coming out with a completed product, and not rushing a thumbnail and being done with it almost under a day. Plus I think the simplicity adds a small visual charm to the overall content style. Either way, Just finished your potion video, excited to see where you take us this year :)

    Mudan has done a masterful gambit by doing the exact opposite to what a sane person would do. A digital nomad would live like a KING in Estonia with amazing IT infrastructure and cheap prices. You could, unironically, rent out Mudan's house in the woods with a Starlink for about 4-500 bucks a month.

    I pay 690€ for an apartment in Fort-De-France. It's a studio, barely bigger. It's in a way better state, but I also got it by family connections.
    One thing I should mention is, in Tokyo, if you're lucky, you can find somewhere where people died. These don't rent well, so they're way cheaper and less regarding. If you're fine with haunting and stuff.

    I knew someone was going to believe you were doxxing them, I mean, they didn't even notice you were blurring something inside, in no way someone doing that was going to doxxed them.

    • @yanguskhan8513
      @yanguskhan8513 8 місяців тому

      right? like mudan or anyone in digital creation, is dumb enough to show off the exact entrance to the building at where trash taste works. but hey, people dont seem to use much critical thinking these days, so it is what it is. at least after the intro, theyre a little more educated now about transitions and not doxxing oneself so thats a plus.

    For anyone watching and thinking Tokyo is super-expensive for this to be the best you can get for $600/mo, 90 minutes from the Tokyo city center: I live in Kichijoji, which is part of the greater Tokyo area and is only about 30 minutes from the Tokyo city center by train, and my rent is also $600/mo for a much larger apartment than what's shown here -- still small (31 square meters or 333 square feet), but very smartly designed, with a layout that allows for there to be two small bedroom/living room areas, a separate kitchen (about the size of a closet, but still big enough that I have SOME counter space and enough room to move), a tiny hallway, a toilet room, and a bath/shower wet room.
    My rent is 90,000 yen/mo, which comes out to $602/mo at the current exchange rate.
    This IS the cheapest apartment in Kichijoji, most likely, and I'm sure if I ever move out, whoever gets it after me will be paying more for it -- I've been living here for nearly 4 years now, and basically all of Japan is rent-controlled, so my rent is still the same as it was when I moved in, but as the cost of living in Japan has increased, so too has the rent for new tenants, I'm sure.
    Nonetheless! With enough looking, you can definitely find a cheap place to live in Japan. (And a nice, one at that; I haven't really talked about the quality of life here, but it's surprisingly high, as the outside stairwell gets power-washed once per month, the landlord is friendly and attentive to maintenance needs, there aren't any problems with bugs or leaks or anything like that, etc.)
    Though I guess in your case, you're not looking for a long-term rental, but an AirBNB, so prices may be a lot higher on your end. This rental lease comes in 2-year chunks (I've just renewed my lease for the second time), so that might be a bit problematic for you if you're just visiting Japan. So do take this with a grain of salt!
    But either way, anyone thinking of moving to Tokyo: rent ain't that bad. You can find great deals if you look around enough, for sure.
