They were from the city and didn't take care about keeping the campsite clean. Little did they know we have a bear den within a quarter mile of that spot they chose to set up camp. The second day onsite they came back to the camper at dusk and found the camper wall peeled open and the door completely off the hinges. The bear smelled food and destroyed the camper to get to it. The fridge was ripped out of it's place and everything strewn around. We went up to see it after we heard what happened. My neighbors and myself know where the bears are and play by the rules keeping pet food and garbage put up. We see them now and then and we have no problems.

As a trucker I have traveled all over the US and I had my truck get rocked one night it pushed on the side of my truck and shook it hard enough I thought it was and earthquake I didn't move I just grabbed the 38 and waited for one of the windows to get broken but nothing happened after that I don't know what it was.. I would say BF.
I camped in my Mercury Marquis many a cold night!...You survived because you imagined a very real possible scenario and planned accordingly! ...Thank you for being so articulate...😮 God bless ...❤
I actually had something similar but i was in a tent in the Pennsylvania mountains. It scared me a ex boyscout and Army ranger so bad i left everything i couldn't grab. My girlfriend at the time was very experienced in the woods as well. She grew up doing civil war reenactments. I have no idea what it was but im 100% sure what it wasn't. Nobody could move that quickly and disappear. Wanna go back but not in a tent.
I have heard a lot of firsthand stories about bigfoot and other cryptids. I frequently research cryptids (especially Sasquatch), but it does sound to me like it was possibly what they call a dogman. I have not personally seen one of these cryptids but does not mean it doesn't exit. From what you said and the scratches to your vehicle. It does point to that although it could have possibly been a bear or other animal. Usually scratches from a dogman are deeper and look more like gouges. From what I've heard. Dogmen are dangerous and have killed people. By the way, I love your setup. Cool way of camping if you ask me.
Dude, I know that feeling when you got to get out of there. I used to car camp, and would never go in a tent myself. As a child had some bad experiences. All you can say is thank God your safe. Some strange things are going on in the woods now.
And why you should back your vehicle into any space. If you pull in forwards, it's going to take so much longer to get the heck out of there in the event of an emergency. Glad you were able to escape safely.
Hey Kevin I believe you I lived in BC Canada off grid and I had a deep freezer outside around 3In morning I heard a noise outside and I went out to see it was a bear he picked up the deep freezer full of food and was eating the food.I still have deep freezer with the scratch marks on it looks like the ones you got .I got some pots from inside cabinet banged together and scared him off. Stay safe
Love how you did the area underneath ... 22:40 ... That is a very smart usage of the bottom of the back of that car. You've really got incredible carpentry skills. So very impressive.
I think Ring has a car version security camera. People may consider it if they camp. You could have a night vision video screen in your vehicle. That would have been nice to have a video monitor that shows you every angle. It would be nice to have something that records and stores the activity. I am guessing most systems have that as a default these days.
Your camper looks great! I'm taking your story to heart. Didn't mention it this time, but I like your keeping the keys in the ignition while sleeping! I have a shell on the back of my Ford F-150, but now I know I won't be sleeping back there. There's no way to get to the driver s seat without getting out of the truck! Fortunately, I have a Super Crew Cab with plenty of room to sleep behind the front seats! Thanks! The strangeness of your story makes it sound like it was something other than a bear. From reading all of David Parulides' books. There is an understanding that Big Foot seems to be less human and more violent on the Eastern half of the U.S. than the West Coast region. But a Big Foot could have torn the top right off your van. A Cryptid maybe? Thanks!
That was definitely a bear. I find it strange that you never mentioned the shaking of your vehicle, I'm sure your vehicle would of been shaking violently if that was a bear frantically trying to get in.
I dont understand why there aren't more bear claw marks if it were a bear, maybe a big cat. We had a cat on our roof once and it sounded like a human was walking on the roof. Anyway, need to keep safe as possible. Like your camping ideas and set up. Would like your gear info. Canopy, camera, lights....
This doesn't sound like a natural animal. I believe it was a cryptid. Probably a Dogman or Crawler. It seemed to just be screwing with you for the hell of it. That doesn't look like scratches from a bear.
Not to sound like a crackpot, but I honestly think you had an encounter with something supernatural. Or rather something that falls under the “high strangeness” label. Something that might not be entirely explicable with the current knowledge we have now.
So I just finished leaving this comment and went to look at your channel where I saw you have a video about your house being haunted. I absolutely believe you if you say you’re experiencing something at home as well
Yes that would freak a guy out. I have a small trailer. I like it but it would be nice to be able to just jump behind the wheel instead of having to get outside first if something went wrong
This wasn't a bear, or a big cat or even Sasquatch. North American Squatch's aren't this violent. This sounds like a dogman or wendigo. Those are violent. And yes, i totally believe in Squatch's, dogman, wendigos, and cryptid's. They exists, no doubt it.
Well this was no boating accident and it wasn't a propeller or a coral reef and it wasn't jack the ripper. It was a shark. I know this is probably easy to believe for some here judging by all the suggestions of big foots and cryptic and wendingos etc. How come no one volunteered werewolves or vampires. Its getting so bad you can't even be taken unserious with extreme impossibilities. Wow. PS I don't personally believe in wendingos but I do believe in wingnuts and nut jobs and lions and tigers and bears ( WIZARD of OZ ). Circa 1939 I believe.
@@EKEACRES That is what many say until they do see one or experience one. Listen to Sasquatch Chronicles hosted by Wes Germer who started it after him and his brother’s encounter with a group of Sasquatch in Washington State. He recounted his own story and has over 1000 interviews with witnesses and their encounters. Also Dogman encounters radio with Vic Cundiff. Same type of content with the focus on Dogman. Or How to Hunt on UA-cam with professional hunting and fishing guide Steve Isdaal from British Columbia Canada. After listening to thousands of witness from all walks of life and parts of North America… People who make nothing off telling their stories… Not all of them can be lying. As one person said, “After thousands of prints are found, tree knocks, unidentifiable screams, eye witness accounts in the thousands…. It only takes one to be true for it to be real”. The strange thing is that part where you put on the brake and there was nothing there. That is really bizarre and then to feel as if it was on the roof while driving off is also creepy. All things considered together it does not sound like it was a very large bear. Normally yes but from everything you described it seems to point to something else. Also the bipedal walking… freaky
very very unusual. the thing was desperate to get inside your van, why? Also the scratches are very fine & singular, what’s with that *A genuinely terrifying encounter
I think bears can smell us humans from what I have read. He probably smelled you and was trying to get in at you, probably just very hungry or it could have been two birds of prey duking it out against your vehicle like hawk vs owl. That would explain all the different scratches high and low on your vehicle. It could have been some winged creature.
Nice van camping set up you've got there. I do much the same in my Chevy van. It's very comfortable and like you say you don't even have to go outside to drive off. I appreciate it when it's rainy or cold but sometimes I have to run the defroster to clear the inside of the windshield. I'm sure you've used a small ice scraper to do this as well. It's interesting to know you built trailers. At one time I used to build camping trailers and 5th wheels at Gladding Company in Oneonta, NY.
If it wasn't food or protecting cubs, there's one other thing that can make an animal go all crazy like that. It wanted to mate with you, and unless you were in heat, then perhaps the scent of a female that had been in or around your van recently was the reason.
You were fortunate to get out of there safely. A van is safer than a tent, but I think it is wise not to camp alone ever. Always be aware of the dangers for dogs, if it was a Cryptid they are known to go after your pets, Bears would too I imagine.
Holy crap that is terrifying !! Are you in P. A. or NY? Unless it was a rabid raccoon ? Too bad ya couldn’t video but I wouldn’t of wasted a min blowing out of there that’s crazy
The summer of 1982 (the year I graduated), my immediate family: mom, dad, 4 kids went camping at Sequoia National Park in Northern California. My older brother was working there as a ranger. He told us storiesabout how bears can see what's in a vehicle, especially ice chests. He showed us pictures of a van that a bear got into a van. and couldn't get out causing a whole lot of damage to the van. On a side note: while my mom, two sisters and I waited for my dad and brother show up to where we were standing next to a picnic table. As we waited, I saw a black bear far away from where we were standing. I peed my pants I was so scared.
Saquatch usually has a terrible smell. Saquatch may be able to cause some kind of perception block, like bat or dolphin sonar, that jams human vision. Did you have a weird headache during the attack? Maybe a perception block.
Not trying to throw any shade here, but those marks at 05:00 are quite different to the thin line scratches elsewhere on the vehicle. They are more like shallow and wide gouges. They have fine curved parallel lines in them typically seen when a rotary tool like a Dremel skids on a surface. Suggests something very hard with a fine evenly spaced serrated edge. And two, paired like that. Teeth maybe.
I agree about the fact that a vehicle is much safer than a tent. Pretty funny that anyone would say, “that’s not real camping”. I bet when they camp, they use a tent, cookware, camp stove, backpack, and numerous other items that were made by someone else. Very, very interesting story and people should heed the warning. We humans are tender little hairless animals with no fangs. We can only defend ourselves with tools.
I worked at a High Stress Rotating Shift Job for over 33 years, I am Confident it caused many Health Issues. If I had it to do all over again, I would never Work Shift Work even tho I made a Good Living...
Thank you for sharing your experience. I agree with everhthing you say and do. I would rather camp in a vehicle and always park in getaway mode. I like the lights set to see what is outside and know where your keys are. There are things out there that we just do not know or understand. Finally hearing from someone who thinks like me. ❤
You said you thought it was a big black bear. I live in the mountains and if it was a black bear, it would have gotten in, no problem. Those scratches are not from a black bear they are too thin and small. It would have done extensive damage right into the metal. You said as you drove that you felt it went with you and you could hear it. That tells me it was a large bird, most likely a very confused Owl, they are known for doing that. I had an owl attack my car while at a stop sign, leaving the same type of damage. Same type of scratches from its talons. It's possible there was something flying around your car or on it, a large bug or something and the owl was going after it around the vehicle. It was not a black bear, it was not an alien as there is no such thing. Raccoons, are possible and they are resourceful, but I doubt it, as they are verbal at night. You were most likely attacked by an Owl, that is why you couldn't see anything. If it were a bear, you would have seen it for sure and it would not have traveled with you and would have run off with the red lights and when you started your van. It was a predator bird, an owl and nothing more. I know it caused you trauma, it was at night, near your head and you were disoriented, yet kept your cool and made it to the driver's seat and did not exit your vehicle. You drove away. Owls are famous for this type of attack and they hunt at night. It was confused and was most likely chasing something, maybe a mouse or something got up there, it can get up there from underneath your van very easily. Mystery solved ok? You can deny this of course, but I do live in the mountains near trailheads as well and was attacked by an Owl while at a stop sign and it also traveled with me and I could not see it, not at first, until it flew away from me. And he was a very big Owl. Those talons are large and sharp. Yes, they can get up there as they fly. That is what happened to you. Period.
I thought it was a black bear until you looked in the rearview mirror and nothing was there. After that I thought it was a sasquatch. A bear is simply too dumb to hide from a mirror. I think your saving grace was having your doors locked. Many people sleep in the forest with their doors open. After hearing a creature on two legs my instinct says sasquatch. These critters can see twice as good as us in the dark. We are at a tremendous disadvantage. Like a blind man where everyone else can see. These critters are smart enough to hide eye shine.
I was in the Northern Sierras at a remote campground that had about 10 full sites. My small rv was shaken at night, but it stopped, so I went back to sleep. When I got up and went outside, all the other sites were empty!
I’d say a desperately hungry cougar...perhaps thinking you were some kind of large garbage bin. But the way it disappeared suggests it was fast like a cat. Bears are clumsy and you probably would have seen it before it ran off. Just a thought. Love your vids. 👍🏻
Why I don't think it was a bear. In the original (live) video you never mentioned once the word "bear", more so you thought there were more than one creatures attacking ur van. Also, you stated in another video that u don't think it was a bear for some of the following reasons: 1. Marks on the van would've been more pronounced, usually 4 long scratches 2. A bear would've ripped off the plastic visors. 3. There was someone, a two feet creature walking around the car after you laid down to go to sleep. Bears have paws and don't make a sound when they walk. 4. If it was a bear, you would've seen it in the mirrors. 5. You've heard scratches on the top of your van while you were driving on the road but you didn't hear any bumping like a heavy animal falling down from the van. You would've sure heard something if it was a bear. 6. The noise that creature made was very loud, unusual and really scary. Here is an angry black bear. Is this how it sounded? ua-cam.com/video/3llLmK2ZLsc/v-deo.html
Wow, that is most epic way cray cray scary. Be careful brother and always treat for worst possible scenario with safety first every time you so much as hear a bump or any odd events.
Definitely wasn't a bear I don't know what it was But guarantee it wasn't a bear so glad you made it out again your guides and Angels are watching over you thank you Kevin your channel I always wait for the next one
I'd have another trail came to have away from the van on a tree or something...u hear yah I would never be in a tent either. Creepy as heck. After all that is probably stay home.😲

I'm more interested at the "strange stuff" happening earlier at the campground that caused him to move to the van overnight. To me any investigator worth his salt would start there first. But since he doesn't include or won't include that information, then this is just what they call grist for the mill. His entire reason for moving into the van he says was due to weird stuff happening earlier in the evening at the campground, and then to dismiss the earlier occurence as a possible cause for the van attack by a creature he never saw, making sounds that aren't recorded is pretty weak as far as exploring narratives for what occurred. The paint scratches really look minor and could be caused by anything from a large cat to thorny tree limbs as opposed to the dents, gouges, tears on the car's metal skin that an unearthly huge menacing creature or animal would cause if on attach mode. A bear alone would have caused larger scratches accompanied with gouges, dents, possibly even tearing off a car rack, a door handle, a side mirror, etc. I don't discount his story and he appears to show he was exceptionally perturbed. However, other than his version, the evidence is very weak, almost non-existent. Two things bother me. 1. His refusing to include the "strange" events earlier in the evening. That has to be investigated further. 2. He mentioned that a large part of his daily life, his work involves building, renovating this van style for camping, nomading, etc. So (it's a stretch) but if he wanted to drum up business to get commissions, orders, to design and renovate, build specific van styles for customers planning on extended travels across the country, or changing to a more nomadic lifestyle, what more motivation would one need than to hear the strange story of dangers lurking in the countless trails and wilderness areas to push one to make a decision to trade the tent for a van when exploring the open road.

You probably stumbled upon the reason there are so many people who have disappear never to be found in the woods!
Ich denke nicht, dass die verschwunden Personen, auf dass Konto von bigfoot gehen. Dann müsste es Kampfspuren geben. Das wird eher missing411 sein
Sounds like a Cryptid--Dogman or Bigfoot, every state has them...
@@randybeard6040yup! Definitely Sasquatch
Kevin i love your channel. You are such a very fun, open minded kinda guy and i like that you enjoy the outdoors!
Thanks
I camped in my Mercury Marquis many a cold night!...You survived because you imagined a very real possible scenario and planned accordingly! ...Thank you for being so articulate...😮 God bless ...❤
You are fortunate that you were not sleeping in a tent !
Very possibility a Dogman
Stay safe
Kevin, maybe it was on top of the roof because you didn't see it, very strange and creepy AF
Love how you did the area underneath ... 22:40 ... That is a very smart usage of the bottom of the back of that car. You've really got incredible carpentry skills. So very impressive.
Thank you.
My friend I am Cherokee and French Canadian Indian and what you encountered was a SkinWalker
Cool camping mini van great idea , looks very safe .
I think Ring has a car version security camera. People may consider it if they camp. You could have a night vision video screen in your vehicle. That would have been nice to have a video monitor that shows you every angle. It would be nice to have something that records and stores the activity. I am guessing most systems have that as a default these days.
I wish I had that setup that night.
@@EKEACRES Absolutely! In time you can make that happen.
thanks for sharing. very interesting
If it was hairy, scary, over 300 pounds and smelled real bad...I'm sorry for letting my wife out that night.
😂
Mine too buddy 😂, love it !!
@pabblolowenstein1371 Ahaha. Thank God I am slim. I weigh 64 kilos.
Pale crawler on the roof...
Your camper looks great! I'm taking your story to heart. Didn't mention it this time, but I like your keeping the keys in the ignition while sleeping! I have a shell on the back of my Ford F-150, but now I know I won't be sleeping back there. There's no way to get to the driver
s seat without getting out of the truck!
It is not recommended that anyone camp alone. Anything can happen such as a medical emergency or an attack-, a snake bite, etc.
There was something in the van: Kevin! So glad you were able to get away from whatever it was.
I belieave you encounted something be careful out there
I wouldn’t freaking be camping again.
Me either but I do miss it .
I absolutely believe you if you say you’re experiencing something at home as well
@@JesusNikolaipossibly Dogman
ive been in that situation before yep itll make your heart start kicking.
You should have activated your car alarm. What ever was out there, knew there was food inside. It most likely had broken into other vehicles.
I
Could be, but I've never seen one any of them in 53 yrs of my life.

That is what many say until they do see one or experience one.
After listening to thousands of witness from all walks of life and parts of North America…
People who make nothing off telling their stories…
Not all of them can be lying.
Do you have evidence for the existence of these things? And if you don't how can you believe something for which there is no hard evidence?
@@EKEACRES Well you had your chance and you blew it. You should have jumped out of your van and confronted it.
very very unusual.
the thing was desperate to get inside your van, why? Also the scratches are very fine & singular, what’s with that
*A genuinely terrifying encounter
Dude! I love your videos man!
Very large black bear. Good setup you have there. Be safe!
Moth man terrorized you ! Bro just flew away
Mothra?
No, I didn't
Why didn't you activate your emergency horn via the key fob button, or manually? Most animals would be frightened by it
Thank God you are safe.
Sounds more like a Dogman than a Sasquatch
I can tell by your demeanor that you are telling the truth 1st time me watching you, hope you sleep better now that some time has passed
I would install cameras on the outside of the van...roof, front, back, both sides! Imagine the video content you could get even while sleeping 🙏
I would never camp in the woods without a gun. Not in a tent or van.
Every Trail Head
Need Surveillance cameras
That night felt like it was yesterday. If anyone has not seen that video, definitely watch it.
Thats why when sleeping in my van I keep my keys on me to hit the panic button as the first line of defense.
What was the name of the video. I definitely want to watch it.
For Sure...
Big Tool
You must have heard about Dogman.... I would never be alone in the wilderness.
A disabled dogman, with only two fingers
Thanks for your vid.im thinking big foot. But could of been a bear.❤
@@359francisco1 thanks for watching.
stay sharp my brother, your PA AKA the red skies CA
Period.
I’m with you, it sounds like an owl. Great Horned owls are huge! 🦉
Wow! Sounds frightening!
Could it been a cryptid or rake? I know it sounds far fetched...just a question. There are pics out there from wooded areas .
I agree I think dogman thing
Glad you’re alright. Stick with what works for you.
Thats why you should always carry!
Bears are the worst! Ran into them everyday up in Boundry Waters Minn.
When was this video? Is it recent 😊
Why I don't think it was a bear.
In the original (live) video you never mentioned once the word "bear", more so you thought there were more than one creatures attacking ur van. Also, you stated in another video that u don't think it was a bear for some of the following reasons:
1. Marks on the van would've been more pronounced, usually 4 long scratches
May I suggest that the avoidance of recreational drugs may prevent a recurrence of this event.
You're hilarious.
Makes me think of a skinwalker

he turned that whole deep freeze upside down and got the food.
I'd have another trail came to have away from the van on a tree or something...u hear yah I would never be in a tent either. Creepy as heck. After all that is probably stay home.😲

Wow glad you got out of there
Yes, bears are big, big claws, dangerous when hungry, and fast. So, just a scary but non-paranormal story.
The bear might have snatched someone out a vehicle before and associated the vehicle with prey
