Ootd surprisingly rlly good in lower leagues. ppl have no idea how valuable their units are. was villager trading with a guy playing as english, was able to defeat 15 longbows with just one gilded knight at home while my other 3 cleaned up all his villagers outside the tc (to be fair his micro was not v good)
Isn’t having beefier but better units kind of a disadvantage in the sense that it rewards the problem of “over killing”? Like if a mass of 15 archers hits one regular spear man then they are doing way too much damage, but it’s not practical to disperse the damage mid combat, so we deal with it anyways. But hitting an ootd spearman kind of rewards that style of combat no?
Neither of the players being castle age at 16+ minutes at this high rank seems crazy to me. I suppose low rank players like me are not good enough at harassing people like english getting to castle before 8 minute mark
@@Hunter1900 if you do 50 damage, getting +1 will increase your damage/DPS by 2%. If you only do 5 damage, then +1 is a 20% increase, literally 10x more impact
Tried Maa opening, generally worse Its literately producing knight on foot with 2 supply and longer training time. If harass its too slow and predictable, easy to get counter harassed and MAA slow movement speed get double punished from TC fire if misrally them once
@@usuhbi I had to buy the expansion so I could learn other civs. You basically have to bully them before they get more than 2 units out usually horseman/archer. Once they amass 3 horseman they can take down a few spearman.
Yo Beasty I think your strategies dont apply to lower levels. I mean I can execute so well but the units arent that strong having one or 2 and more you always behind on Castle age. What would you recommend with fast castle players vs OOTD.
if Chapel will be buffed again NO ONE would choose meinwerk all over again? meinwerk would still need a more profound re-design. maybe special range armour for landsknechte and serious discount for these or automatic production? I don't know ...

Meinwerk should be redesigned to let you research blacksmith techs, as well as all special HRE mil-techs, one age earlier. Move both Meinwork special techs to the standard blacksmith but push them back an age. It should be the choice forif you want to go long Feudal since there is no reason for the HRE to stay in feudal.
Every time I play OOTD I am *CONSTANTLY* running out of food - so much that I just can never age up to castle. I have a shittone of gold but just no food. Them trash units cost so much food - OH MY LORD!11
Its a massiv down side, haveing fewer units makes map controll difficult and all the units you have cost insanly much food, you cant realy go out on the map for aditional food and going into farms slows you down to much. Food is the most valuable res during fudal.

Shaolin monks counter ootd feudal horses lmao... Fast castle zhu xis would be hard to beat with this build plus zhuge nu very cheap and dont even need song...

OotD's horseman will smash those units like Tiger tanks, also you still have access of early MaA even it's not the best choice.

I was struggling to be aggressive with ootd. Seemed to be easily overwhelmed early game by superior numbers.
It's fairly easy to rush with spear men
And build defenses tower walls which are cheaper for Dragon

armor upgrades scale better because more HP, and attack upgrades scale *worse* (except archer) because higher damage
I don't get this. If they also do higher base DMG, shouldn't the attack upgrades also scale well?

U should try and deny their gold so they cant fast castle, or atleast delay it.
This build got me out of silver. I just beat a gold 2 in my rank up game and it was not even close.

OOTD units are too strong for more special armors n buffs. The only way to balance that is to increase the cost of units after those upgrades.

You cannot fast castle safely against this build. You need to make units to counter
