This is a great step. Good job. That's what we did. Just started enveloping plant based meals here and there and learning more and more about the health benefits of doing so and now we are completely plant based. It takes time and it's a process for everyone. Everyone is on their own journey.
@@drsarahhankeldc This is what I did, too. I went vegetarian with vegan weeks for about a year and a half, as I didn't know one could be healthy and vegan and didn't know all of what happened to animals, then in 1997, I read Diet For A New America and went vegan right away.
Wow!!! I have this habit of waking up super early in the morning and start preparing dinner for the next day… I did not yet put this over the noodles, but I just made the sauce, and it is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had in my life! You nail it every time, Jill!!! You were the first whole food plant-based channel I’ve ever watched and you have always provided such amazing recipes… I just had an abundance of broccoli that was about to go bad and I just made your broccoli casserole last night and it was delicious! You know it’s good when your husband is not vegan or a whole food plant-based, and he loves the food that you make… And it’s mainly your recipes and I want to thank you… Anyone reading this, I am telling you this sauce is the real deal! Made it last night! It was quick and easy to prepare and very tasty! If you love mushrooms, make sure you don't use oyster mushrooms because they don't have much flavor. I might add some minced garlic next time. Yet another keeper of Jill's recipes! Making African Peanut Sauce (stew) tonight!! Woohoo!

Jill, I just made this! OMG!! it's amazing! I usually don't use nuts but I decided to use the cashews and I am glad I did. the flavor is amazing. a great recipe. I will definitely make again. I used the Thai Kitchen noodles as I had some on hand. thank you for this great recipe
OMG 😃 I made this!!! Good job with the measurements and the ingredients. Super tasty!!! I tweaked it by adding hot smoky paprika, and ground rosemary. Rosemary's kind of earthy so I liked it. Because I like my sauces a little bit on the thicker side. After putting all the ingredients in the NutriBullet, I put it in a small saucepan heated it up and added a little mixture of cornstarch and water to the sauce. Perfect it made it thicker. So quick and easy to make. I never ate mushroom stroganoff so I don't know what I'm missing. This will be a very favorite to make. 💗
I just whipped up this sauce to have for dinner tonight. I cooked the onions and mushrooms in white wine and added fresh garlic. I doubled the recipe and for 1/2 cup of the 2 cups of liquid I used white wine. This is delicious!!! Can't wait to try it with my new Kaslo Sourdough Rotini tonight. Jill, you are the best!
I made this today. I skipped the noodles and instead made a batch of your lentil flat bread to dip in it. 10/10. Thank you so much for all the recipes!
This is very similar to a recipe I’ve been making for awhile, more of a chicken pot pie kind of thing. I sauté a red pepper along with the onions and mushrooms and add peas and cut up pieces of baked tofu at the end. It’s good on pasta or baked potatoes.So delicious!

Thank you for yet another fantastic recipe, Jill! We all loved this and it was reminiscent of the (beef... yuck) stroganoff my mom made when I was a kid. Of course that had heavy cream but this doesn't lack richness at all because of the cashews. My parents are visiting from out of town and she said she's definitely making this when they get home. It was super creamy, delicious and unbelievably easy. It took longer for me to boil water for the noodles than anything else! lol I always appreciate the continued inspirations and tips.
This will be in rotation. This was so good. My husband loved it and he is not plant based at all. This dish won him over. I also ate a salad with and did the Italian salad dressing as well.

Just made this. Soooo yummy! This will become a staple meal for me for sure! I used oyster mushrooms as they are my favorite. No mustard, as I never have any at home. It works without it too. Love, love, love it! Thanks for this fantastically easy recipe!
I so love your site the recepies are great and easy to follow - i printed up the recepie and noticed that the nuts are not on the ingredient list - i made a note for the next time - i also subed out the white wine for marsala sherry - it pairs great with mushrooms - i love the flavor of this! - keep the recepies coming!
Just made this, I’m recovering from covid & my taste buds are still slightly off but it tastes amazing! I used canned mushrooms as I couldn’t get out to buy fresh and sunflower seeds instead of cashews. I found it didn’t need any salt so I left out the braggs and only added pepper. This will become a go to recipe for me. Thank you 😊

Jill, OMG! thank you a million for this recipe!!! It is the best, most delicious meal I have eaten since going WFPB a year or so ago. I used 1/4 c. cashews and 1/4 c. sunflower seeds to cut down a little on the fats. Next time I might try half white beans. I have been craving pasta and this is the perfect sauce, but it will be oh so good on rice, potatoes or eaten in a bowl like soup. This will surely be eaten several times every week. DELICIOUS!!!
Great taste! 🤩I just think that if you don't have a high-speed blender it might be worth adding the water in the blender in portions to make sure the sauce becomes homogeneous and not grainy. Or you could soak the cashews for half an hour or so...

Yummmm! I just made this, and it is delicious! I tripled the recipe because, I knew it was going to be amazing, and I like leftovers! I used campanelle noodles, which made this very hearty as well as eye appealing. Actually, it is so good that I plan to make it for Thanksgiving. Im the only one who is WFPB, but I know everyone will love it!

update. to my earlier comment. Jill,s recipe is the best mushroom stroganoff I have made. I just add more liquid as I like my food fairly sloppy. Have made it 3 times and even non WFPB family members love it. I serve it with rice noodles, and last time added a green salad on the side. So delicious, thanks again Jill!

i had half a punnet of plain button mushrooms leftover when i made this, so ripped them into tiny bits and threw them in the airfryer. ended up with crunchy crouton type bits i sprinkled on top and i dont know why but airfrying kinda condensed their flavour and they tasted extra mushroomy! it was the perfect lil extra touch for this amazing vegan strog. your recipe was wayyyy creamier than any others ive tried! thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

i had half a punnet of plain button mushrooms leftover when i made this, so ripped them into tiny bits and threw them in the airfryer. ended up with crunchy crouton type bits i sprinkled on top and i dont know why but airfrying kinda condensed their flavour and they tasted extra mushroomy! it was the perfect lil extra touch for this amazing vegan strog. your recipe was wayyyy creamier than any others ive tried! thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
