@@margaretgaskell4958 The most perfect harmony I have ever heard. I have been a fan since I first heard their music on the radio. That would have been around 1957. So about 63 years.
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing. "When Snowflakes Fall" is just fantastic ! Miss those days and their fantastic harmony music that only the Everly Brothers had. RIP Mr. Phil Everly and God Bless Mr. Don Everly.
I'm nearly 82 and grew up with the Everly's music. I found 'snowflakes' on an Everly Brothers album called 'Susie Q' apparently compiled in England and recoreded in 1963. My wife an I do a lot of harmony singing at Counry Music Clubs around Auckland, New Zealand and do a lot of Everly Bros songs, but this one - Snowflakes' would have to be my favourite.
Harmonizing at a level never before heard ,the Everley Bros. Absolute genius ,beautiful to listen to . RIP Phil ,and thank you both Don and Phil for the music that will live on forever
I have recently rediscovered the Everly Brothers. I did not know the extent of their talent and have yet to hear a song I do not like/love and they started before the beatles. Wow. Boy did I miss some really good stuff listening to the likes of Hendrix et al. Better late than never.
Peter Fehlandt I have discovered them about a year ago and I've been listening to their music ever since. I love Phil's voice, it has something special.
Sadly a little too late to ever hear them perform live together again Garden Gnome, Phil died around 6 years ago - Jan 3rd, 2014 - in Burbank, C.A. However, they recorded many fabulous songs that keeps their memory alive. Seen them twice live in the UK - Birmingham 1960 and Leicester on their 10 Years apart Re-union tour. Most harmony groups owe their existence to the Everly Brothers who recorded their first hit , 'Bye, Bye Love' in 1958. I was just 16 and have been a huge fan ever since! Without them, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Bee gees, Simon and Garfunkel and loads of other close harmony groups as well as many imitators, would never have developed the way they did. Interestingly, their follow up to Bye, Bye love...'Wake Up Little Susie' was banned by some radio stations as being too suggestive. How times have changed!
@Andrew MurrayThe Beatles had great teachers when it came to harmony. I love both. I was a teen then. Great time for music and British Invasion. I've never heard these songs though.
They were singing on the radio as young boys with their family. Phil's Silent Night as a 3 year old was priceless. They said they didnt even know they were poor until someone told them. Don said on Ed Sullivan Show that they went from a hubcap business to the Ed Sullivan show overnight.
What? They were always fighting over politics and eventually they had a huge fight and didn't speak for 10 years. Thank heavens they got back together.

@@chester777ful He's most likely on the track. The guitarists are listed as Chet, 'Hank' Garland and Ray Edenton. But there are two versions of the song - the Cadence one in March '59 with those players and the Warner Bros one in March '60. Not sure which version this is.
I think this could be an alternate take of their Cadence version. Chet Atkins probably doing lead but brilliant Hank Garland was also on the recording. He sadly played again after a tragic car crash accident in late 1961 left him unable to play. He played lead on Elvis's ' Little Sister' and 'His Latest Flame' and the amazing intro to the Ev's 'Don't Blame Me'
