The Haval H6 has become a common sight on our roads in South Africa over the past few years since it was launched here. I think it is a really handsome design, has aged very well, especially with those gloss black wheels.
Been waiting for Aiman to do a review on this car. Splendidly, he made it just in time as I am searching for Msian platform reviews. Thanks bro Aiman 🙏
Abit unfortunate for a few included features which are generally overkill for many of us who WANT to buy this HEV, namely : 1. Sun roof, nice to have but not needed especially during middle of the year, and I don't want to be vulnerable to falling trees during monsoons. 2. 18inch wheels with higher profile tyres would be appreciated, tyre prices aren't linear, they're exponential. 3. Everything should have a physical button, if you can't get it right, just copy the Japanese like Toyota and Mazda. 4. Ventilated seats are alright for top spec, but a choice of fabric is appreciated for future base variants. 5. Hard matte plastic is fine, glossy is aesthetic but gives horrible glare from sunlight and sure as hell dirty from fingerprints, make sure they're of proper material engineering and unlike a certain car's famous broken door handle. 6. Unlimited scroll for the gear selector is cool & minimalistic but a stick selector would be a better choice, we are not a country with vast and dry plains like China, often times we're by the sea or floods and oxidation occurs more quickly, unlimited scroll will haywire due to the short circuiting of the internals and cause issues such as skipping steps or wrong step (personal experience from Honda) Additionally with CKD, fingers crossed for Rm120k mark :)
The engine recharges the battery, in addition to regenerative braking. It works in broadly the same way as Nissan's e-Power system, as well as the Ativa Hybrid.
I saw the car in person everything is well put together only 2 issues the steering was too thin for me and i felt the seats lacked under thigh support😢
The team has discussed this. The appeal of both cars are different. We don't recommend the J7 2WD as the Tiggo 7 Pro is more affordable for broadly the same package. The H6 HEV is better as an urban runabout, but the J7 AWD is perfect for those who either go off the beaten path or want AWD security because they drive long distances frequently. While the two will inevitably compete, their buyers will have different considerations.
yes, my question as well. both suffers from limited rear view. J7 looks fantastic H6 has acceleration for Genting run. j7 feels better put together while h6 feels like a rushed job. maybe they spend all their time on drivetrain which is superb engineering.
Aiman, which is better: the Jaecoo J7 or the Haval H6? I've already booked and test-driven both, but they won't be extensive test drives like the ones UA-camrs do. Can you give me a suggestion? Others can also comment here to help me decide which one to buy.
Hybrid technology are getting more difficult to explain to potential buyers. Layman might be put off on the fact the car has only 2 speed transmission 😂 For the technically savvy lot, this should come naturally easy to comprehend. I mean even MG hybrids uses what they said a 3 speed transmission. I am sure the system works in similar fashion as the Haval H6 does.
Aiman, good top line review. Looking forward to the more comprehensive one. I took a test drive and was impressed with all the bells & whistles. However, the rose gold trimming doesn't go well with the cabin color while the off-white dashboard/armrest will get dirty easily? Agree😊?
EVs slow down primarily using motor regeneration, not the brakes. Which is why it is common to hear of EVs not requiring brake pad replacements for 2x-3x longer than the usual intervals for internal combustion vehicles. We suspect you may not fully understand how EVs function but that's fine, keep watching and we'll explain it one of these days.
@@mydrmezan 100% agree. I saw Haval H6 have silver trims instead of this out of place rose gold. Gray dashboard too instead of the off-white color which will get dirty easily
Malaysia's best English language car reviewer goes to Aiman. Everything is spot on, no nonsense presentation.
Yup. Very sharp and proper English I would say.
Totally agree. My preferred reviewer 👍
couldnt agree more
Agreed!
100% agreed
This channel deserve more view. Aiman presentation is superb.
He's unrivalled
Been saying that about him long time ago… keep it up!
This is one channel I can confidently LIKE before start watching/listening. 😊

Don't quite care for the car, but the host Aiman is very articulate and a good presenter. Keep it up
i watched this because of Aiman. hehe

I really like your comments, perfect English
Yes, indeed as it's high on fuel efficiency & with a full tank, I indeed got over a thousand of kms as most of the times, I'm driving on ECO mode.
Yes very impressive review as it is very well spoken by Aiman
Assalamualaikum saya hadir 😊 wow GWM Haval H6 HEV 😍👍🏻
I wonder how much will cost for this haval h6 hybrid battery?
Awesome.
You mentioned something about the tyre noise while driving? how does it compares to X70?
The X70 is already an impressively quiet car. The H6 HEV definitely matches it - if it surpasses it, it's only by a negligible margin.
Is the hybrid power on demand all the time? Not depleting?
The engine recharges the battery, in addition to regenerative braking. It works in broadly the same way as Nissan's e-Power system, as well as the Ativa Hybrid.
did you find the rear view VERY limiting?
its very small aperture and most of it is sky ward.
a Miata following close by will disappear altogether.
I saw the car in person everything is well put together only 2 issues the steering was too thin for me and i felt the seats lacked under thigh support😢
Help me decide H6 or x70 fl ?
H6
So Aiman, million dollar question. H6 or J7?

This was answered in an earlier comment.
from my point.. go h6 hev.. solid car.. j7 look cheap
@gamebosan5965 Thanks for your opinion. I already chose Haval H6 last month and am just waiting for the car to be delivered.

Remedied with a test drive.

"Crotch coolers"..😂😂😂😂😂....thats a first !

We can't speak to that, as the MM team generally like to keep our cars clean.
Argghhh... Why got small likes n views.. Oii Malaysian.. Subscribe to this channel.. He is very good
As all EVs , going downhill is bad to dangerous if the brakes are not checked ! Brakes will burn itself real quick !

The rose gold inserts are really tacky. I somehow couldn’t imagine myself staring at the inserts on daily basis

very good english and sometimes good humor too

Uncle bersan'Tai' at the back.
That's why he had to drive all the way back to KL the next day.
@@MalaysianMotoring LOL. Partner in crime.
the appearance is definitely heavily inspired by the peugeot 3008
Hi Tan Sri Tai
I dont know how to describe it, but the rear design looks like a 2012 Kia Sportage with full length lights. Kinda ugly compared to the Tiggo 8 pro
This competes against the Tiggo 7 Pro, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. The Tiggo 8 Pro is one size-segment larger.
A retarder system is badly required in all EVs for downhill decent
Regenerative braking has served well enough in all EVs we have tested so far.
Also this is not an EV.
Hai aiman, can speak malay? Pls speak some malay in Ur next review ya. Just pulling ur legs 😊.. nice review as always. Kipidap! 💪
The rear design looks too tacky and Cina
