I have this and didn't know about the EQ/Cab sim working on certain ports in the back (guess I should read the manual hahaha). Thanks for this!
Ok, I have tried almost everything mentioned. Except with much cheaper stuff. Pod go 4 cable into tube amp, PA , tried spark mini into speakers, on and on. Didn't like the tones. Then I saw a youtube where a guy plugged a Electro-Hamonics 44 magnum power amp into a 4x12 using a spark amp. I found a 44 Magnum used locally for $50 and a Stage Right 1x12 cab for $100 and gave it a try. Boom! It works! Pod Go and Spark sound amazing! Just turn off the cab sim in Pod Go and don’t use the combo. The spark mini I just went straight in from the headphone jack to the 44 Mag then to the cabinet. I could literally take a spark mini and the 44 mag power amp and hook up to any cabinet and have tons of amps and pedals. Sounds clear as a bell! As a side note, I also hooked my Katana Go into it and Boom! Got a Katana Go running through a cab full blast! Now I see why Boss stopped Katana Go production!
I found the similar concept, I run a mult-unit/modeller? into a pair of 15's (P.A.) 2 way to achieve the best amp and cab sound I've ever heard, I've been doing it for around 4 years now and it's unbeatable in any setting live....I also happen to be fortunate to own two of the rarest little helpers on my signal chain that quite frankly separate the wheat from the chaff during the process.
I have two perfect Boss FA-1's in my stereo chain during such....contrary to the claim they are replaceable these days, they aren't!
I usually use one or both of my 15's as my stage guitar amp behind me mic'd up if needed, most times its not required, my other 15's are carrying my front of house stuff with about 20% linked in when mic'd at times in larger venues.
I often tilt back my stage set up and it's truly breathtaking, it's passed several blind tests for a bit of a laugh when friends roll up.
It more than moves air and has the to die for feel,- it's downright trouser shaking!...I juice it with a Crown 600 power amp.
My 15's are obviously full range and the right quality to slay the beast allowing my multi/modeller to breathe as intended to.
I have a similar setup with a headrush, a cab and the seymour duncan. How you manage the volumes? 50/50? Hi helix volume low Power stage volume or max power stage volume and low helix volume?
So I have the output on the HX at 50% I’ve found that when I have it fully cranked, it clips the input of the powerstage. I then crank the powerstage to whatever volume I need
Very good video!
Thanks 😊
How set output level? Line or inst? Thanks
Instrument level. You can use both but instrument level prevents it from clipping the input.
I’ve had a pair of the 200s and then moved to the stereo 100 but find that for a 16 ohm speaker cab (I have a pair of Friedman 1x12s) there isn’t enough headroom in a band context. I want to make this work but frustrated…..
Is it just with the 100s or did the 200s not move them enough either?
@@ryansnydercg 200 was better but my matrix gt1000 and the SD PowerStage 700 are much more satisfying. I’m also questioning the form factor for pedal board. I’m concluding (I think) I prefer the amp to be closer to the cab versus closer to me/at my foot. First world problems
this is what I've been afraid of
My guitar tone is so frigging yummy I should be paying the venue to let me loose at every gig instead in all honesty! 🔥
Yummy tones 🤤
can you make a video on how to set it up or maybe sample how it sounds
Yeah I can do that!
