What happens when I would get fear and taunt at the same time? Will I just stand in place and thinking about the decisions that led me into that situation?
Taunt does not do what it does in other games, it just forces your opponent to attack you - doesn't work if he is allrdy attacking you tho, it doesn't even cancel channeled attacks. Only if enemys are rezzing or not currently attacking you'll force them to attack.
Fear has priority over taunt but if you're still taunted after the fear then you will start attacking/walking towards the target if you're melee. Happened to me last night in wvw
@@TheMangovnik yes fear still has priority. Think of it like layers that each condi is on and fear is on a higher layer regardless of when it was applied
Absolutely wonderful video Tea. I've played on and off since 2012, and I didn't even know what half of these did. I feel far better equipped now and the format, narration and humor was spot on and made 36 minutes feel like 5 =) Fantastic stuff =)

Hallelujah! I've asked other UA-camrs to give this lesson and was told it was unnecessary. Mighty Teapot, you just moved to the top of my heap in GW2 UA-camrs to be admired!
I just started gw2, yes a bit late, but amazing game where people actually play together. I'm having a blast, thx for these guides, hate being clueless

I just started playing last week so I'm still a noob at this game, could you tell me how to get these boons and conditions ? Like can buy them somewhere ?
Really a solid guide. 12k hours and I didn't know they changed regen to prioritise the most potent application first. Now this needs to be a mandatory watch for all players starting the game (and most current players) and maybe, just maybe, we'll see players srting themselves in subgroups in open world squads... (At least I can dream for that). @MightyTeapot Maybe somewhere in this series you can mention how boons are priority applied in squads and parties?
That's actually a good call yeah, I think that will come in the 'Party and Squad' guide! But good reminder I kinda forgot about that lol. Glad you enjoyed!
Mate just look at your stats, press H and check your current Power - then check your Power again with 25Might. Should be obvious that you'll deal allmost 50% more damage with 750Power more...
@@TheForceOfBluescreen well, not talking specifically about might impact to dps. Started playing not long ago, and my class doesn't have all the boons/conditions available in the game, and never went around looking on outside sources on what the other buffs/debuffs did in this game. Nice to see it all explained in one place.
so what is the different between 5 stacks of might with the same duration and 10 stacks of might with the same duration? if there % increase per stack?
I tried my best to google: Do you keep or lose all boons when you go to downstate? probably yes? Skimmed even trough this video after watching it and I never got answer. No where in Wiki boons or wiki downstate could I find this information. Am I really so blind that I can't find this information OR is this something no one ever talks about? Topic where I got this question: Tempest giving 25migh can't heal so someone might go downstate ... Does the person now lose all 25 might you just gave to them or not?
Now I'm confused..... At 20:40 you say that torment does more damage if the target moves. But in game and in wiki, it is stated that torment does more damage if the foe isn't moving..... Which is true????? AAAAAAH!!!!!!
Hi, i play since release and have still no idea... i have all chars levled on 80 but die very often in casual PvE and Story Content. Pls make a Video about Keysettings and Options. (Cause i cant handle my Keys) A Standard Build video for casuals would be nice too! thx for reading!
00:57 This is not how duration stacking works. In reality the 8s swiftness would always queue before the 2s swiftness, even if it is applied later. I know that this is probably not that interesting for the simple notion that "boons stack duration in a queue system" but if you take the time to make a fancy graphic, please make sure that it actually holds up to a reality check.
There is a mistake! At 20:28 -> Torment converts to 3 stacks of might NOT fury!
Also at the side panel of the bleeding and burning part the symbols of Vigor and Aegis seem to be swapped. Otherwise great video!
Will you redo the video since anet changed retaliation, resistance and resilience?
