Jason in the big scheme of things who gets hit most by trains? the runners or the people who get stuck on the tracks

Hi Jason - having watched your last videos - hell man - the last time i saw tracks like that in the UK, was walking down a long abandoned old railway track - long after it was put out of service!

To my understanding, in the US, we have 3 classifications of railroads, with 3 sets of regulations. Private industrial RRs might not even have a classification. A reputable rail service will haul your product, but they will not maintain your line. Videos are on YT of trains yawing and pitching like a ship on a very rough sea, while moving 5 mph.

Great catch, Jason, I guess the only time we will ever see MOW is when a derailment happens, looks like it is close

What really fixes track is when it takes 3 crews to get to Green Bay!

Hi Jason It is time to put in for a grant to upgrade/fix about 60 miles of ties and new welded rail.

Certainly a heavy train with the weight of 10 scrap cars plus the siding. Has anyone else gotten an ad on You Tube from louisiana-pacific selling Smart Siding? I got a 30-second one last night touting its ease of installation and a new smooth siding. No it didn't have anything about prompt delivery

Nope, but I'd sure be interested to see what "smart siding" is supposed to be, and how it works.
Not interested in buying any, just would like to see, and know what it is, and does[if anything].🤔
Although the company name sure makes it sound like they are selling sidings for Railroads, and NOT for buildings!🤣🤣🤣

Mow is a low priority until a derailment with catastrophic results occurs. How does a railroad get away with such p^%s poor maintenance?

My guess is the rails are from the 1940's most of the ties have been piece meal changed over the years. It's very expensive but they need to be jacked up and new ballast put under, probably not going to happen in our life time if ever!

railmen get paid good money to not maintain the tracks

So why is the road supposed to be "no traffic"?
Never heard of a trafficless road, unless it's been either designed as a cul-de-sac or road dead ends to nowhere, with exceptions such as a detour when a road is closed for repair or some type of construction, blocking all or part of it.
Other than that I can see no reason anyone could not use the road. Especially if using said road IS A SHORTER distance than the recommended route.
Just know when I could drive, gave up my DL voluntarily on my own due to medical reasons, I would ALWAYS use the backroad shortcuts and avoid the heavier, congested, jammed up routes. Especially if I was pacing a train!😉🙂

Jason! One might think that some civic-minded millionaire greenie would plunk down some tax-deductible cash to put those rails back into proper service....but wait! A "green" and woke zillionaire who made his/her $$ as a Capitalist sending cash to help another business and therefore the community at large prosper? Zounds! What a concept!

why not blow the stop sign? nobody is coming the other way with a train blocking the road
