One thing I have noticed among UG farmers, at least those I have seen on Utube, is the use of materials available to them. And I really love it ❤,it drastically reduces the cost. Approximately $500.00 for 2000 capacity chicken house is relatively cheap. Doc, I can say you're spectacular in this field. More grace for 'farm up'

That's descent pricing for the number of birds it holds. This is a nice guideline for a coop I'll be constructing in the next 2 months, 1,000 capacity, although I'll be using mud and sticks for the walls. Cheers from your neighbor in Tanzania.

Dr. I'm from the Philippines and your subscriber. Your videos about your farm, from start up to now motivates me a lot. And i want to start here in the Philippines with small flocks. But my plan is to buy a parents stock breeder for me to produce a layer, and the breeder i want is the rhode island white ang rhode island red just like what you have to produce brown eggs. As you said in your videos the f1 of that breed is the best for egg laying and it can free range. Dr. Can you help me how to buy my parents stock as you mention you bought the breeders from europe and can they ship here in the philippines. Thank you in advance doc. I hope you notice this.

Hi Doctor Daniel I just have one question to ask did you put any layer of concrete at the top section or its just timber ,and if it's just timber with the plywood, can't the litter above drop down or in case water pours at the top can't it go through the litter and get to the bottom floor. Thanks for the information always looking forward for your videos.

    Is this Math Correct
    *Notes on Chicken Layers*
1 acre can accomodate about *5,000 layers*
*1 chicken* will lay between *4-5 eggs a week*
There are 52 weeks in a year
    4 eggs per week = 208 eggs a year.
    208 eggs a year multiply by 5,000 layers = *1,040,000 eggs a year*
    A tray has 30 eggs
1,040,000 eggs = 34,600 trays per year or 94 trays per day
A tray of egg is about 10,300/= whole sale price.
So 34,600 trays of eggs = *356m per year on 1 acre or 30m per month.*
So, *1 acre can generate you gross sales of 30m.*
*Costs of raising 5000 layers on 1 acre is about 60%* of total sales which is ugx 18m
So profit is about about ugx 12m per acre.
If you have *4 acres*, you can make *profits* of *48m per month*
