I'm doing the wristwatch G2 on my Trident dragonburner. Great instructional, as always.

Appreciate the video and its very informative. Just seems like you are needing to use to much pressure to move that stepper motor. I know they are nice and tight but I think you may be having a binding issue with the initial tooth alignment you mentioned in the beginning when you first the motor. May be wrong but hey thats my two cents. I will out one together next few days and let you know. thanks again.

Yeah, it was binding up. I went back and fixed it off camera, but forgot to mention that in the final edit.

Is the G2 wristwatch the same thing as the G2 stand alone (SA) extruder? There isn't a knob on the Stealthburner version, but then, there isn't a way to have one! So I assume you just push the filament into the extruder, and then use the controls on klipper to advance the motor a few mm. (I'm building the Stealthburner version for my Enderwire).
BTW You CAN remove heatsets from plastic parts and reuse them! (Assuming you don't need the parts). Removal process is just the opposite of installing them using the soldering iron. You might have to clean up the heatsets to remove some plastic, easy with a wire wheel or brush and a hot air gun (hot air soldering station). I've reused heatsets from parts salvaged from upgrades and abandoned projects many times.

The Wristwatch G2 is a modified version of the Wristwatch BMG extruder that's designed to use the hardware from the regular G2 standalone extruder kit. Its printed parts are a bit different and IMO it has a slightly better filament path that's especially good for printing flexible filaments.
And that knob isn't really all that useful for actually advancing the filament. It's kind of nice to see it turning just so you know the extruder motor is working, but you're correct that running the motor through klipper is the way to load/unload filament.

Nice. I like to see how you put canbus cable for it without it sagging like mine does on stealthburner

Sneak peek into the plan... I'm going to use the new LDO Nitehawk-36 USB instead of canbus, so we'll have to see what kind of cable it comes with and then figure out how to prevent the cable from sagging if necessary.

What made you pick the wristwatch version instead of the G2SA?

The WristWatch looks to be even more simple and lightweight. I'm aiming for the best performance I can find while staying as minimal as possible.
