I agree. I've seen a few custom setups like that before, like in the bed of a truck and stuff. Is there a mechanical advantage that makes those vertical shocks and springs better than upright? Just curious if you or anyone knows. As far as i'm aware, it just allows for more space and easier to service. And obviously it's great to look at.
@@Javii96 yeah pushrod style suspension offers easier adjustments and servicing but also more compression distance meaning don't have to run the suspension as stiff and worry about running out compression space. More compliant. Also actual physical space in the wheel well to run a wider wheel. Remember there was that Mustang on /TUNNED with Matt Farah few years back that had one.
@@Javii96 has nothing to do with looks and servicing however it does provided a huge bump in how easy servicing would be. The main focus and why they were made was to remove as much unsprung weight and move it into the chassis of the car to allow faster and more nimble suspension and to also lower and “correct” the vehicles center of gravity
We need more from Colt.. this should be a SEMA car once it’s finished. Colt is dripping with talent. His designs and detailed machining rival some of the big shops.
His amazing skill set is the reason why the execution is so impeccable engineering-wise. Perfect example of what can be done to any vehicle with the right tools, know how and imagination!
TRC, this was an outstanding video and opportunity for a regular but obviously very talented and humble guy doing his garage build and sharing it with all of us. I enjoyed it and how he took a regular sports car, turned it into his day-by day R&D dream project then along the way realized the amazing technology of CAD, TIG welding, and other amazing tech and turned it to something amazing--his fabrication, time, and obviously a lot of dollars and time away from family gave him the sweet street/performance ride he never expected. Kudos!
I'm so excited you did a review on this 350z was hoping someone would do this This is by far my favorite 350z on the net It's beautiful I would love to do the same You should start manufacturing the setup he did that up he did people would definitely do it
You can accomplish personal goals when your spouse is white, if she’s Spanish or black it’s a no no, they always want you to be with them or doing something god them
One of the most underrated 350Z builds out there with rear turbos setup. A man called Colt built this work of art check out his interview video and test drive on web. Love the style and build quality and the fact he went with rear setup despite the fact there would be haters. His Z is awesome and deserves more recognition.
this has to be one of the coolest, cleanest Z33's I've seen so far... not too simple, not too ricey, exquisite details with good performance potential 10/10
The owner is a TRUE designer! He put the turbos in the back, allowing him to keep his AC and power steering, and how the turbo setup is semetrical! And with the intake manifold, not the biggest fan of the wisebody but this build is a 10/10!!
im usually not a fan of Z's, but this is next level. that pushrod rear end is beautiful to watch in action. and to top it off it's gotta be one of the best sounding VQ's i've ever heard.
Wow, this by far is one of the best 350z builds I’ve seen to date. Huge props to Colt and his masterpiece. This car looks so badass and it’s not even finished yet. This legendary build really should be getting A LOT MORE attention and notoriety as it was hard to take in all the ingenuity, complexity, craftsmanship and how simple this work of art really is in a short video.
Been following Bud’s build on IG for a minute now. Seeing and hearing it on YT has been a treat. Great work Colt. You’re inspiring a lot of us Z fanboys.
respect to the man. he has a vision, skills and passion for what he does. dont ignore the fact that he has 2 kids and still manages to find time to do this. more content like this please
This may not be the most efficient TT 350z setup but you'd be hard-pressed to find one more unique and utterly BADASS looking as this one is! What a GORGEOUS build!?... From front to back I LOVE IT!!!
There are other 350Z’s and then there is this- holy bananas. Some places have a complete shop, Colt here “I just do this here myself in my garage” This Z is absolutely amazing. I’m loving the stealth fighter flat black. Looks soooo evil!! 🤘🏼
I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about 95% of the time but I love it. Passionate craftsmanship is always cool and always to be respected - especially when it becomes something that goes f**king fast!
Just moved to new bern,nc area in January.i hope one day I can see this car in person on the road or at a car meet.impressive work.beautiful build.thank you for sharing.
Looks perfect the way it is , even tho having such access to machines is helpful this is a ton of hard work and sweat he poured into it . Everything has been calculated to perfection , beautiful. ❤️
Isn't it amazing how much we can make in our own homes these days between cad programs. 3d printers and cnc machining. Good work man its coming along beautifully.
Pretty awesome 😎 Attention to detail is off the charts! Respect for a homemade build that's possibly nicer than anything you buy from the market. One of a kind 👌🔥🔥🔥💯🏁🏁🏁
dude this fucking build is SO INSAAAANNNNNEEEEEEE. it really takes a special person to completely reinvent this platform. i would love to buy this car off him someday if he ever parts ways with it
Man you gave me goosebumps! This a huge, flawless work out here! From all the custom built motor parts to wide body kit this car looks so damn sick! I really respect the job you’ve been doing, keep going man!
I love the way this began. Rear turbo cause kits where too expensive. I feel that right now but the work done to this car is stuff i could never do. Amazing work and details. Impressive
9:45 that rear suspension is a work of art!

heay but does that work?? just curious if it can beat an mx5 in a downhill mountain road.. ROLF
Cantilever suspension.

he put the turbos at the back of the car. exactly the worst place for them. that eliminates him from sema talk. the rest of the car is nice.
@@SHONGERMAINE dude he just wanted it there for the looks and be different... he knows it's sub-optimal!
@@SHONGERMAINE go tell sheepy racing that🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its already a sema car, who says sema cars are finished? 😆 🤣
@@SHONGERMAINE there has already been a SEMA Vette with rear mounted turbos. Hate for no reason. Where is your car that can stand up to Colt’s?
Been following Colts build for soo long now. Such a great eye for design and function.
same, cool to see it on this channel.. i never really seen it drive on his IG lmao
Is this the same colt that had an LS swapped 280z 10-12 years ago?
Thank you guys for coming out and well done! 👏👏
What a beautiful work of art! You have some skills my man! 🙏👍👏👏👏👏
What did you use to form the fenders? Also, I love the rear suspension, the cruise control, the a/c and the wheels and tires.
Amazing build 👏 🙌
Killer build Colt!
Impressive build, been following you a while. Bout time you get this on the road!
Dude, this is the best 350/370 I’ve ever seen. So much work and details. This guy deserves a standing ovation. The induction noise is crazy
His amazing skill set is the reason why the execution is so impeccable engineering-wise. Perfect example of what can be done to any vehicle with the right tools, know how and imagination!
I’m not a Z guy but this build is pretty impressive. Big props 🙌🏻
Hope he works with a company to be able to offer the body to others. The build is solid AF. Crazy build!🔥🔥🔥
He works for himself
You’re like 13 right
He already does, OnlyFans.
This car looks fine
Props to this man and his build
Fantastic build, truly unique. And I like this dude’s whole demeanor. 👍

Much respect fabricating such intricate and one off pieces. CNC and what other bits definitely helped. Prime example of built not bought.

It is difficult to imagine how much pleasure was gained during the building this Z.
Great job 👏🏻
Best wishes from Russia 🙋🏻
Very humble dude, I appreciate how unique the build is, taken influence from real race cars and did his own thing, no off the shelf.
THIS is a real usable car. Insane build WITH AC / and cruise control. Yeeeeshh this guy is winning !

Watching that rear suspension and the custom glass air box wow wow we waaa!!! Absolutely beautiful build. You have a great mind bruddah !!
Vision, passion, and awesome skills. I love every part of it. I'm a big fan of unique builds.
Really incredible! Feel like this really only touches the surface of how much work must've gone into this.
Also gorgeous cinematography here.
