I use F1 Pellet hook for the same too - I had a carp on for over an hour on a size 22 F1 Pellet hook last year. I did lose it in the end but the hook stayed strong through the whole battle.
Absolutely great advice as always you lads are brilliant as always
Always used the drennan ones, the new fluorocarbon are fantastic.
I remember going in Donny Angling centre years ago to get some bait for Hayfield, having craic with Alan, who was Rob's mate, Tommy just shook his head and called us nutters. Alan gave us about half a gallon of floating casters and told us to use them at Hayfield....we emptied it and nobody around us could catch anything with our swims like washing machines🤣🤣 All we did was chuck little wagglers into bait shallow, never seen anything like it that day. Still brightens my day up seeing "young Al"
Any Kamasan
Alan. Always have a matchman hook tier in your box for when you can't feel your fingers
well said Alan for giving honest facts, ,cheers ,and HAPPY NEW YEAR..
Any for joker?
So when the wife starts nagging you for buying more gear you can bump her off and use it as a body bag to transport the corpse to your burial place of choice, get shut and clean bag when you get home. Well thought out piece of kit indeed.
I went from the old Preston Protype 360 to the Airity Pro and what a difference it has made to my commercial fishing brilliant for slapping and shallow fishing both for carp and F1s and using red hydro in my power kits for the margin munters is a joy to use landing many big carp into double figures, defo was well worth the investment , only downside is the plastic threads on the kupping kits , ive already had one snap on me shame really as i would of thought brass would of been better and certainly longer lasting, but maybe they designed it that way to make the kupping kits that little bit lighter, who knows , but overall a brilliant pole 👏👏👍, Brilliant demo video to explain at all main lengths 👏👏👍
Happy new year Alan, in a future episode please could you review the new nytro 60 “ brolly thanks in advance
Like to see Shimano aeto pro competition up against the new top end poles released recently. Is it still the very best out there?
Yet another groundbait made to catch more anglers than fish , its getting silly now , , i'll tell you what i do , i buy a 20 kilo sack of chick crumb for £11 grind it up in a coffee grinder as fine as i like which takes about 3 minutes to fill a 3 pint bait tub , add whatever poncy smell i like , job done , i use it on the canal at Great Heck , and my local pond at Sherburn in the matches and i have had the best season in the matches so far 7 wins 4 seconds and 22 section wins
Could you do a pole test with a maver mvr4 and shimano aero x7 😊
Millions of ground bait on the market if your not on fish you don’t catch any
Middy Reactorcore.10'9"..and the 12'9"...Carp to 20lb...vastly overlooked..just got a Quartix 13'..Zero limits...the quivertips are one of a kind..no one else has them...yet...Middy are at the forefront...have been for years...go back to the X55,s...ile put one of those up against anything.😃👍
If they did a smaller one for like Preston inception small size would be perfect
Most of my commercial feeder work I use the 9 ft drennan vertex carp feeder rods and have not found anything that I would replace them
Cant find the 12.0mm anywhere in uk
I live i worcester would anyone know where the nearest pole ally to me would be as looking for a superium pole ?
Just buy a round washing up bowl. £1.50 from various shops . If it rains just put you towel over it. It worked for 30 years before lids where invented ,Still works now. All this gear catches more anglers than fish 😊
Same as all the groundbaits , this for Bream , this for Roach , this for feeders etc etc , and the biggest rip off is Fujka , i buy a 20 kilo bag of chick crumb for £11 grind it up in a coffee grinder and then add whatever poncy smell i like , job done
For years I have used an old roses sweet tub cost me zero and saves it going into landfill.
We've started to need two one for micro s one for groundbait ,,,😮
Put the cadence cp1000 next to both of those poles and then check the price tag😉
We lov Alan....
Brilliant
Are they in shops yet?
Brilliant guys 👌 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄
Ricky Teal and Roy Meridith . Names from my past from when i started out on the North West canal circuit ( toughest circuit in the country ) by far. Rest in Peace Roy😢

what a brilliant way to close a video - excellent
What a double act 😁🎄🥃merry Christmas fellas
Hi lads all the best for the coming year.
Love the Drennan hollows.. will give the hybrids a try
in my humble opinion, totally over engineered, and heavy, and cumbersome, to take the weight of what are now featherlight rods. if you had to fit this to a say 23mm square leg, the fitting does not allow for the flat end of the leg to be flush against the clamp, which is no where near as secure as it could be, its a feeder arm that costs an arm and a leg because of its engineering.and not its usefulness, I honestly believe this is manufactured and designed by engineers and not anglers,
Hello, whats the better Pole x95 or Aero pro and what IS the real length at 13 Till 16m. Marry christmas
TBH elastic choice is personal choice use a brand you feel confident with. I use to pay top whack buying Diawa hydro . I don’t anymore all same to me, probably manufactured in same factory in China and rebranded. You cannot go wrong with Matrix slik or Preston Dura at a great price point ! Good review lads 👍🏻
Blatant Diawa bias or what ! So the less ridged floppier pole is still better in action of the more ridged Preston pole ?? This so called test negates every other pole review conclusion since poles came out ! Ie…the less responsive softer action pole is better than the stiffer more responsive pole Go figure …!
Try the Daiwa hybrid. Absolutely rubbish, bears no correlation to Hydro
Landed a double on that yellow elastic, good stuff
