  • This is most incredible barn find to date, but will this beauty from a bygone era come back to life after 30 years of neglect?
Fully remastered with the experience I have gained editing over the past two years.

Nice ride! I’ve driven Cadillacs but don’t like the aim and go aspect. I still admire the looks. Cadillac has em all beat.

They have just some of the most beautiful lines, and they have aged so well that they still feel futuristic in appearance. But I also really hate the fact that all modern cars look like cones and appliances meant to clean clothes.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not gonna go out there and do burnouts with it, but cruising around with it is an experience.

@@LunarOutlawsGarage No, they aren't built for burnouts. They’re the garage queens, if they fit. I’ve always been drawn to muscle cars. The cougar is my daily. I don’t like new cars. They're ugly.

Great vid bud, i've got a little question for anyone willing. I have a 2014 Chrysler 300C, 5.7L, AWD. She was driving beautifully from 51,000km to about 98,000km. At which I had a clunking upon deceleration, turned out to be the "Front Axle Disconnect" So I had it replaced (at my expense because Chrysler wouldn't help me once my mileage surpassed 100K) but something inconspicuous was appearing, an ever so slight twitch of my RPM Needle, a cyclical twitch almost that would just flick up about 50rpm, sit for about .5 of a second than drop 50rpm, then flick right back up, flick right back down and sit for half a second, etc.
It bugged me but I threw it off initially as nothing. But then came the ever so slight shudders/surging at around 1500rpm, it was also cyclical, at this time it was 2019 jan. I changed all of my fluids, Tranny filter/fluid, Front Diff, Rear diff, Transfer case, Radiator, engine oil/filter, and still there. Ok. Changed my Crank sensor, still there. Hmm alright, changed my Cam sensor, MAP Sensor, Temp sensor, still there, god damnit.
So hey thats fine, i'm an Aviation Maintenance Engineer contractor and i've got places to drive, in this case its from Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) to St Johns, Newfoundland, then straight across to Kelowna, BC and then back to Hamilton, Ontario. Fun fun, Car drives, it has its surging, everythings running as it has too given the circumstances with no additional issues.
Till I hit the mountains of BC. On the way back little did I know (since I had Comedy channels playing and I was laughing to stay awake and damn it works) everytime i'd be going up hill the surging was so bad the car was making noises! It was quiet in the car and I started going up an incline and sure enough the car started surging hard, about 300rpm jumps, vvvVVVVVVvvvvvvVVVVVvvvvvVVVVV and when it dropped the car would make a low grumble noise like a "GrgRGrgrGRgrGRGR" but even weirder is that the following dip in RPM's would make a WWHIZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz noise... So it was a "vVVVVVVVVvvvvGrgrgrgrgrvvvVVVVVVVVVvvvwhizzzzzzzzzzzvvVVVVVVVVvvvvvrtgrgrgrgggrVVVVV"
I was thinking oh shit wtf is dying here?! So I threw her into manual gear control and kept it in a lower gear when going up inclines the last 15 hours of the trip. (The amount of times I forgot to downshift and it did it for me, only to wonder why I was revving so high when accelerating is embarrassing).
So ok, changed tranny fluid, made sure with a dipstick it was at the correct level given the temperature (W5A580/Nag1 5 speed), Gapped and changed all 16 spark plugs, Brought it to a shop, they found nothing, changed intake gaskets, removed, inspected, cleaned injectors, swapped injectors, purchased a new coil and swapped it around, cleaned all grounds, cleaned all connectors, changed battery, swapped VVT Solenoid, Swapped O2 sensors, Got new Throttle Body, got new Throttle assembly (includes sensor), had a tranny flush, tranny Conductor plate and Solenoid swapped (with blue tops), noooothinggggggggg
Went to another dealership, found nothing. At this point my damn torque converter was chewed, so 2000 bucks later I had that swapped.
The problem disappeared....ish.. The car would accelerate in steps, the RPM needle would increase in increments like it wanted to surge up and down but stayed where it should, but still increased in steps. Ok, so its still surging but this brand new Torque converter lockup is absorbing the blows, maybe? Sure enough it took 3 weeks and the cars doing it again.
I get a P1621/22 code because it was surging heavily around 400rpm's when i'd let it go, yay something! I had chrysler flash the pcm and code didnt come back, bam a new code, P2098 I think it was, now its detecting "Lean" after the Cat, indicating maybe an exhaust leak, maybe the wiring, I swapped the downstream sensor, same results and same code.
Now the Speedometer has an ever slight twitch to it, cleaned the Plug for the Tranny, no change.
This is where i'm at my dudes and dudettes, its been what? 4 years ffs and I have had this car surge for 4 years and only give me these new codes in the past 4 weeks.
I have dumped countless cash into this and at this point i'm about to simply rebuild the entire engine bottom up. This december is the last month for payments, i'll be trying to save till then to rebuild it myself (as I have rebuilt countless components off Boeing 737-800's (NG's), Airbus A320/321's, etc) because the challenge sounds fun.
If that don't solve it, well, that'll be the time i'll have to give up on my Hemi Love. But as a mechanic, I KNOW something isn't right, 1 simple fuckin thing i'm missing and if I fix that this engine will fuckin purr like shes supposed too and i'll finally have that smooth ride i've always wanted.
Great vid, thanks for reading my rant, cheers

Isn't this the same Caddy that you resurrected a year or two ago? If not, think it's its twin. I had a 63 sedan deville that I drove to Miami from Detroit (about 1400 miles)...same color as yours...IIRC Bahama sand beige?? No issues, and I got 17-18 mpg.

Wow over 17 miles to the gallon. That’s awesome. I can definitely see that though I don’t know how many miles to the gallon I get with the Cadillac but it’s one of my better cars when it comes to mpg. Though let’s be fair, that’s not a high bar hurdle over. Yup that is the Cadillac my daughter bought for three dollars. It was just over two years ago and it was all the videos wrapped up in one. It’s the pride of the fleet and I wanted it to be the first one where I implemented all my newer editing techniques. It’s too bad I couldn’t implement my newer filming techniques though. 😂 I’m planning on doing a fair amount of work to it this year but I don’t wanna do too much cause I wanna use it to teach Samantha.
