I have been STRUGGLING with my 20 year old daughter for 6 years. She has anxiety, depression, OCD, weight gain, that lump, dark skin, insomnia, the weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, ovarian cysts but they said they aren't hormone producing?, thyroid disease, liver enzymes are off now, and no period for 3 years .....NO DIAGNOSIS. These doctors don't care. Its infuriating.
Thank you for these videos. Seriously

I was you 13 years ago. I went from college athlete to 380 pounds in about a year. I went to Friedman in LA after 10 years of fighting endocrinologist. Had pit surgery with Mccutcheon at MDAnderson. Then BLA in Milwaukee. I did ok for about 8 years, but then I was diagnosed with stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer. They said it was due to no adrenals I didn't have the immune response to fight early cancer growth. Got through radiation and chemo, barely, then got uterine cancer, now the nasopharyngeal cancer is back and probably terminal. Fight for a diagnosis. Dont give up. In my experience, everyone test better with different fluids, saliva, urine, blood. I did best with blood. My 8am and 4pm blood test was just a little bit high at times, but at night, I was raging. My first midnight cortisol was 38! The range was 0-1 normal, 5 suggestive, diagnostic was 7.

I'm devastated. I have all the symptoms of Cushing syndrome, I KNOW deep inside of me that's what I have.
I have striae on my arms and belly, recently on my hips too, I've never had such marks before, I keep gaining weight, acne breakout out of nowhere, my boyfriend asking me about random bruises on my back and legs, humps on my shoulders and one slowly growing on my back too, my sweat is different and smells different, everytime I do the slightest blood test I have a HUGE bruise and I bleed a lot through the tiny needle hole, I can only do low impact workouts now because my joints hurt as hell, my feet are swelling, my belly is huge, round, and super hard (basically my whole body shape has changed, I feel like a giant... ball ready to explode??) I have recurring headaches, tinnitus, insomnia, last November my blood pressure went so high, all the doctors were confused, I had the worst anxiety and depression episodes in my entire life (of course they just assumed everything was a consequence of anxiety, how convenient,) my liver is fat although my diet's better than ever and I exercise on a regular basis, and I can't play or make music anymore because my cognitive abilities are deteriorating everyday (could be caused by lack of sleep though,) oh and I've had the worst mood swings lately. And I legit noticed ALL of these symptoms before learning ANYTHING about Cushing! It's not in my head!
And yet, I did the low dex test today and the results came back normal. I just can't believe it. I've been watching your video on repeat because it's the only thing that gives me hope, I'm on the verge of giving up. I'm exhausted, and I'm in tears because I'm so scared of doctors not believing me, I'm afraid all the results will come back negative, and I just can't take it anymore. I'm barely surviving, I'm not enjoying anything in my life at all, I almost want to end it. Getting dressed is a nightmare, going out is a nightmare, EVERYTHING is a nightmare, all I want to do is stay at home in oversized pajamas and lie in bed forever.

Keep advocating for yourself. Take notes daily of your symptoms and bring pictures to compare how you looked before.
My doctor who ran the initial tests ran the wrong blood panel and told me I didn’t have cushings. My endocrinologist is certain that I have it and ordered more testing and an ultrasound of the Buffalo hump. You’re not in this alone, if you’re not satisfied with a provider change the doctor. Wishing you the best and hope you find answers soon! ❤️

I’m so sorry you are suffering. Everything u said, I can relate to. I’m not even living a half life. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and now a growth in my thyroid but Drs keep saying, “the growths r small. They don’t warrant action.” Even with my documentation of all my symptoms. I’m so low functioning I’m essentially disabled…but of course, disability takes years in the US if u even get it.
Im not a hypochondriac. I’m not looking for attention. I’m was a strong, vibrant and resilient woman. I used to be active, bright, creative, alive. I ate well, meditated, exercised. Drs literally do not care. For years I’ve been declining. It’s a full time job to get new drs and deal with insurance. Last endocrinologist took 9 months wait.
Im thinking about scraping all my money to move out of the US just to get better health care. I can’t keep going this way much longer. Im barely functioning.

I just did my urine test and my creatine was high and my cortisol was. I don't remember my bottles having pills in them. I think I have the cystical cushings. The doctor ordered the test the urine again because he refused to do an ACTH and I can't do the Dex test because I'm allergic to steroids and when he did it I ran and got the stuff because I felt so bad and I did mine the day before Easter 8 AM and I turned it in to the lab at the hospital the next morning and I'm glad I did it when I was feeling horrible like you said because I got a high urine.

Booted me to psychiatry, Bc clearly that was the issue. Absurd. My LNSC are 6.79 and even over 100! ACTH was 94 when FIRST tested in 2021 after a “self diagnosis” I’d still have no clue if it weren’t for other women sharing their stories. And I’ve learned, this is not a disease they just willingly give. You have to prove it over and over and over again. It’s maddening.

I have been feeling off for a few years... Started off with memory. I remember crying because I thought I was going to get early onset Alzheimers. Then it was the lower belly tire and buffalo hump. Then headaches and bruising. I have gained weight but not as much as maybe a normal case of Cushings (30lbs). They did an MRI for my migraines and the neurologist mentioned I had a tumor on my pituitary. Now two years later I am thinking it's been bushings all along...I am coming full circle. I really hope I can figure this out. I am tired of living in fog.

    • @Chronicallyyours_

Finally got to see an endocrinologist in November 23, same test and 24 hour urine test done, both came back negative. The doctor was 100% certain i have Cushing's! Next appointment is in May 24. How long do I have to suffer?

This was soooo informative!!! I’m crazy claustrophobic and could only do the open MRI which was the 1.2T High Field Open 😭😭😭 With contrast. So I guess this was useless? I do have a question for you. Does Cushing’s disease make your body feel like you’ve been hit by a Mack truck and then rolled down a hill and hit every single hump? Along WITH DEEP proximal muscle pain? My upper arms and upper legs feel like I am walking in sand 😢😢😢😢

My daughter has done several sputums. None like the one you're showing. Where did you get yours? Who is the maker? Daughter has all the classic symptoms, and had to drop out of her Senior year of a STEM degree. Have yet to catch a high Cortisol on test kits I ordered from reputable Oregon Lab. She since has just saw her 1st endo and he ordered 3 sputums,... all normal. He was dismissive on 1st visit. And now that the sputums are normal, he's even more dismissive of Cushing's.
The initial progress was w the General Doctor b4 seeing this 1st endo. The General Doc ordered anything we ask for, even the MRI...which shows a 3mm adenoma on Pituitary. A 24hr urine was normal (not a 17 OH). AM, afternoon Cortisol blood draw was slightly elevated. That was all done 1st week of October. MRI 1st of November.
I have 2 other Endos lined up. One next Wednesday and the other end of March.
I feel like we've misused this time. She was put on antidepressant, and low dose Klonopin prn, for high anxiety moments, by Gen Doc...The Endo made no comment regarding this.. After our OWN research, I'm believing the meds have suppressed her Cortisol.

Hello, I’m a little confused about the highs and lows. Why would you not test when your body hurts and your tired.... is that not when cortisol levels are high? Sometimes I feel like weak and nauseous, and other days I feel as if I have no symptoms at all. So just to be clear, I should test when I am experiencing symptoms yes?

    • @Chronicallyyours_
      @Chronicallyyours_  3 роки тому +2

Hi!! So there are symptoms of highs and lows. High cortisol = active cushings. So for weak and nauseous are signs of low cortisol which means it’s not a good time to test.
