I’m really glad I found your channel. Most channels are turning into product advertisements instead of giving us project ideas and builds. Great job!!!
I have 4 grandson's. Can't wait to start this project. However, I'm building 2 blanket chest now, then I have to build 2 more cutting boards. So this project is 5th in line. Still, I'm excited
That is so cool. Now I'm feeling nostalgic for my old Lincoln Logs. I got two sets for Christmas 1975 and I played with them for hours on end. You can't buy the sets made from real wood anymore, so making my own set will be a lot of fun. Just looks like it might be a bit time consuming but I'm still gonna do it. Thanks for the video.
What an awesome project! I was just thinking about this the other day and remembering the hours of fun my Brother and I had playing (and fighting over!) our Lincoln Logs. Like you, we got frustrated with the individual slats for the roof and you came up with a great solution. I have a 5 year old nephew whom I think would love a set of these. The nice thing is if he needs some more, I can make them for him! :)
Definitely something I plan to make for my kids and other family members. Thanks for the tutorial! I Definitely cringed when you were cutting the roof pieces on the table saw 🫣
Awesome, man. I love these. Thanks for the share. I made my kids a few sets, but only went as far as notching with the router and slicing off logs with the table saw. All my experiments with various router bits to round the edges turned out too many variations and my inner perfectionist tripped out. 😅 I like how you did it.
Where was you when i was a kid. Awesome job, but you need to vac up some of that dust around your power tools. Hope the kids get plenty of fun out of the logs.
These are so cool! I loved Lincoln Logs as a kid, but you’re definitely right about the roof slats! My little five year old granddaughter would love these. She would rather build something with me in my shop or create tiny accessories for her dolls than be on a screen (we rarely allow it when she’s at our house anyway). Right now, she’s looking forward to helping in the garden and flower beds over spring break, but I’m going to put these on my to do list for inside days. Great video. 🙂
Thanks! I loved playing with them too. It’s so great to hear that there are still folks that teach their kids and grandkids to do stuff outside! It’s so much more rewarding!
You’re killin’ it! Awesome content. Just wondering if rounding off edge with trim router before making individual strips on tablesaw would work. Only half would be round but could be the log look from the outside of cabin. Am I confusing cutoff ends? 🤣 🤔💭
Thanks man! That’s a great idea. That would have saved me a lot of sanding. I made way too many of these things 😂 If I would’ve left the one side flat like you said, it’d be easier to hang pictures 😆
Dude, grow up! 🤣 Seriously, well done. I like how you attacked this. You made it look easier than it probably would be, for me. But doing the router cut first, then cutting the lengths, is brilliant.
unfortunately you weren't good to understand, because the volume in the video is too low,but interesting to watch.so pump up the volume in the next video, dude 😉
Is there a place where I can bet on you losing a finger tip? Because I’ve never been so sure of something in my life. It’s a near certainty if you don’t start using more common sense.
I've known sawyers who rode carriages right next to 50"+ blades for thirty years and never had a single scratch. I've also known guys who can't be around a table saw without losing a fingertip. They all have three or four nubs. At the end of the day, grown men do what they're comfortable doing. 🤷🏻♂️ And they take any consequences upon themselves. He even says as much before and during the video. Relax.
It’s great to see this kind of video to help parents with kids learn how to make their own toys. Toys are so expensive. Thank you
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
@@DIYMAN You do great work, thank you so much for sharing it.

Thank you! That’s great feedback for future episodes, so I really appreciate that
Loved playing with Lincoln logs as a kid. Thanks for showing me how to make them.

Awesome! I’m so glad someone else is going to try this!
I love it! I like the orange chimneys.
Thank you!
That was a great idea. I’ve been thinking about trying to build something like that myself. Thanks for the advice.
No problem!
I love it! I like the slat roofing the originals had 😊
Thanks!

I haven’t looked for them in a while. I just had some scrap wood and thought it would be fun to make some. Thanks for watching!
Lindo trabalho, eu gostaria de aprender a fazer isso,um forte abraço desde Brasil
What you shoukd have done is a round over bit on the router table with a feed

Thanks! The kids love playing with them! They were definitely a great project for the kids
I don't have a router yet, but I did finally get a dado blade. I assume that would work to cut the grooves before ripping the logs, though.
I’d love to snatch up a dado stack!
Awesome project!!!!! Thanks so much!!!! 😎👍🤘
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
If you resaw the gable pieces to 1/2" thick before you cut them to size you can keep your fingers away from the blade and your push stick higher.
Yeah, that probably would’ve been safer lol

Thanks! Yeah, I do need to do some vacuuming
Perfect for the grandkids. Thanks much! Subscribed.
If you have written plans for these to share, please do!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! I wish I did. I need to figure out a way to do that
Ther awesome better than any tablet 100%
Thank you! I think so too! 😆
BACK IN BUSINESS!!! 😊

@@DIYMAN, I agree - and so much healthier too! 😊
Had to watch it just for the disclaimer in the beginning. I had to see if you kept your fingers 😊
😂 I’m definitely including that in a video if I ever lose a digit in camera lol

Love this!
Thank you!
I’d do a Lincoln log train to go with it.
That’s a cool idea
👊😃 This is cool! Is the Lincoln Log Company still around? I loved my Lincoln Logs!
Thanks man! I’m not sure. They might be. I did too!
nice
Yep so dangerous. Love the concept though
$49.99 for Lincoln Logs, I about fell over.
It’s crazy how expensive they are!
Dude, grow up! 🤣
Seriously, well done. I like how you attacked this. You made it look easier than it probably would be, for me. But doing the router cut first, then cutting the lengths, is brilliant.
😂 thanks man! I appreciate that! I didn’t want to make a million router cuts lol
Those things are ridiculously expensive. I know lego used to be very cheap now a lotta it and stull make a huge profits
Yeah, they are!
Neat video, but you need a microphone closer to you. Hard to hear anything you said when you speaking in the workshop.
Thank you! And thanks for the feedback. Next time I’ll turn that portion up just a little more.
Gorgeous. I highly reccomend staining the wood to 👌u*u
Thanks! I wish I would have!

Sorry about that. I’ll work on that in the next one
@@DIYMANwow! that was almost an instant response! no problem.
Lol. I try to respond to as many comments as I can. Thanks for watching!
