I had people talking about junk journals, even watched a few tutorials. Then I heard people were using the Golden Books. Until I watched your video on making one, I was not really inspired, but after this tutorial/share. Your daughter must have loved this gift, being this is a few years old. I enjoyed very much. I will have to give a try, and see what I can come up with. Always a pleasure to watch your shares. Thank you Lolly, all my best, Jennifer
Thank you so very much!
I like the simpler books too....not so much lace and extras. Really cute book, I can't wait until I make my first one....soon.
I like different styles. Most of the time, though, I never want it so heavily embellished that I can't turn the pages or actually use it.
I love that you kept the book pages whole. I don’t have the heart to change the look of the original Golden Books. I was given several of them and this looks like the best way for me to make them a journal. I think I’ll add drawing and watercolor paper in mine. Thank you so much!😁
Ooh! That would be wonderful, too! :) Thanks for watching!
thank you for the black paper backing tip, to cover lines!
it really helps on these cheap papers!
Many thanks for sharing. I have attempted a couple of little golden book journals which were failures. You have given me the confidence to try again.
Yay! I think the Cinch is wonderful, but it's also the part that makes me nervous. I've punched many things wrong in the past :)
Thanks for all the tips-you make it look soooo easy!!
Thank you! I notice the most time consuming part is making sure my pages are in right side up
I love this way you have created a junk journal. I have been looking for another way to make a junk journal. I love how you kept the story involved in journal.
Thank you so much!
Your process is amazing! You inspire me to try junk journals and binding.
thank you! I love it!
Love this book! Thank you for nether information about the machine.
you bet! TFW
I watched this video several months ago and again tonight!!! Still love it!!!
sweet! Thank you!
Very informative process. You didn’t waste any time. Wish I had a book binder of that kind.
thanks so much for watching!
If you take everything to a printshop they can trim the spines with a power paper cutter along with all the extra pages and drill and bind them for you - It would probably cost $2 - $4 a book which seems very cost-effective considering how much trouble you go through to get this done - Your inventory would increase along with your profit and you would have more time to spend on the creative fun part of the project - I always did it to my textbooks because it made them easier to reference -
thanks for the tips!
@@LollyPalooza- Hope it helps - Good luck
Love this idea, great way to recycle a family had down treasure.
I love doing this for books that hold memories for us

So cute! We are big Peter Pan fans at my house, and I can't wait to make my own!
Sweet! Thanks for watching :)
Lovely book! Tyfs
thank you!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
❤️ Shirley
You are so welcome!
Omgosh! You are so creative! Your channel is one of my favs!! ❤️❤️
thank you so much. I appreciate it
Thanks lolly, lovely book ,IL enjoy trying to make one xx
Thank you. Have fun :)
Hi Lolly. I just found a .25 cent Pinnocchio and for binding I will use sea shells alternating with wooden fish die cuts ... maybe a bit ambitious but it will keep my attention for a wee while. I really like your work. Blessings and be safe. xo
sounds great!
I love this! Thank you so much for sharing 💜
Thanks for watching
Love this. Tfs
thank you!
I love your book.
thanks! My daughter loves it too
Adorable journal, amazing job. Thanks for sharing🌟
thank you
Love watching journals being assembled. Tfs
thank you :)
Oh man Lolly wish I saw this I gave so many golden books away love this ideal. I have a cinch and never used it 🙁 so TFS 😊
then definitely watch the Cinch video that I listed under this video! It will help
Hi Lolly. I really enjoy your example here. I have a Peter Pan book to work on so you have helped me with your ideas. I also have two order books to create from scratch in the Frozen theme and I have a large Frozen story book that I can use for pictures. Best regards to you from South Africa 🇿🇦 I hope you are well 💫p.s. you have beautiful hands 😊
thank yoU!
Ill keep my eye out for Tinkerbell or Peter pan to make one, love the colors.
If i had this tool i think id be selling stuff lol
I've sold a few of them :)
Love your style and presentation!!!
Thanks so much!
Great video. Wonderful Book !!!!
Thanks so much!
I love this! It seems as if each adult has a favorite Disney character/story. My only issue is the cost of the Cinch machine and bristles (Is that the right word?). I would have to sell a lot of journals in order to justify the cost. I have seen others, especially Lizzi Brewer use this method. You make great items, with easy, common terms (except bristles! HAHAHA) to describe your steps. Keep up the good work, you clever woman!
I call them binding coils, but I'm not sure that's correct either. :)
Yes, Lolly is correct. They are binding coils. There are 3 or 4 different styles. Once you start making journals/ albums you may find you use the binding machine more than you think. If you have a local scrapbook store, see if they have one in their work room you can test out. Always keep an eye out for ebay. Coupons for Michaels and Hobby Lobby are also good options. Also look for buy/ sell/ trade on Facebook. Someone may have purchased one and no longer use the machine. Our crafting styles go in waves lol. I cringed at first and while I don't use mine a lot, I am glad I made the purchase. Creative Blessings!
Thank you, verrrrrry informative! Lovely book!
many thanks!
I love it!
thanks :)
Another awesome video. You are making me want to get that binder machine
thank you. I think it's a life saver!
You could cut slits in the binding holes, like a happy planner thing to add or make things moveable? Cute journal! Ty for sharing!
yes, or just use a Happy Binder type punch and use rings. Or punch two or three holes and use individual book rings.
susan floyd thenostalgicnook No it would not even fit beneath the holes. It’s a tight squeeze for even card stock.
Love the journal
thank you. My daughter was thrilled!
Adorable!! Tfs!
Happy Crafting!
thank you!
Love it, thanks for the tutorial.
You are so welcome!
I like that idea!
thank you!
Thx!
thank you
Like your daughter, I don't like ovewrly embellished books! This is adorable.
thank you!
I do believe in Fairies, I do, I do...but my heart belongs to Peter Pan. My youngest daughter loves Peter Pan and that is her favorite saying. Very cute!
hee hee. My daughter is 29, and Pan was always her fav movie!
Love it Lolly!! Tink is my favorite!!!! 🧚♂️ 💕
aww. Thank you. I love your account image!
This is super cute!!!
thanks so much :)
Great tutorial, thanks
thank you
So cute! Love this journal! Thanks for sharing
thank you very much
Really nice
thank you
Very cute! What do you recommend for binding if you don't have a cinch? Tfs
You can punch two or three holes, evenly spaced, and use book rings like these: amzn.to/2tKIVj4
Thats so neat! The crocodile is adorable! This ecopeco mat seems to be good, but on the Website i can not see a prize or where to purchase, maybe only for USA! Uuuuuuhhhhh.....hugs angel.💓
I couldn't see or click anything either?
cannot see a prize? I found out that they are "going live" the first week in March (wish they had said that before I uploaded video). I will be doing a quick update with shopping info.
Very nice share 👍
thank you. I make these often, and I get asked HOW I did it :)
How awesome
thank you
I like you way of doing the childrens book journal, have you done more than just this one.?
You can look in my journal playlist. I have an Operation Game journal, too!
Awesome!!! Tfs
thank you!
Love it!! ♥️♥️
thank you! She's super happy with it
Really different way to make a journal Lolly thank you for showing this method. By the way I'm new to your channel. :)
thank you, and welcome to my channel!
Super cute! I'm a Disney fan and somewhat collector so I did cringe a bit when you started cutting up the books..all over it now and scheduling a trip to my 2nd hand store to check out their books. Blessings, Tree
it is hard to cut into them. :) But then in the end, it's so cute, and I've left all the stories in the Little Golden Book :)
Ah-ma-zing!!!
many thanks! Happy New Year!
@@LollyPalooza Happy New Year & Happy Crafting!
Oh, okay! It just looked like scribbling! That is interesting!
Yes, it does at first glance -- I don't blame you! :) Usually we see her wings as a translucent white. In this case there's no color at all
Hi 🤗 Im new to watching your videos. I loved this one. Is there a reason you wanted to leave that space on both ends and not have the coil go from end to end? Just wondering. 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for sharing!
it's easier and it uses less coil material. Many crafters do this. Also, the machine does allow for matching up holes to the previous line of holes and repunching, but it also adds another element of risk of failure, punching two sets of holes instead of one.
Cool! Thank you!
❤❤❤
thank you
Amazing 💗:)
thank you!
Love your book and the thought process behind it. (If you place the Cinch machine sideways it gives a better angle for the viewer.)
thank you :)
Love 💗
thank you!
What a great project! I just bought a cinch to make these little guys. Can you please tell me where that amazing little glue bottle came from?
I had them in my shop, but my supplier ran out. I finally got an order placed, and according to tracking, I should receive them by the end of today! So excited!

Any problems with copyright when using these books
I am not sure. I made this for my daughter. I have not sold Disney-related books
Hi Lynn. I've done reading and there seems to be conflicting ideas on 'copyright'. Technically, you are not copying but then there is the whole 'resale' thing. However, if you reselling them is a copyright infringement how can we purchase them at garage sales/ thrift stores and etsy. From my point of view, I don't think there is going to be a big stink from Disney or Golden unless you are mass-producing them. Just my opinion. I hope that helps. Creative Blessings
@@KellysCreativeDreams also, I saw online where lawyers were answering a question, and they said that when a company says their item is for personal use only, that means you can't even make and GIVE AWAY the product.
Hi What is CTMH and D.O.T.S ?! I read your About and love how you shared there!?
D.O.T.S. was a stamping company, and it meant Dozens of Terrific Stamps. They eventually changed their name to Close To My Heart (CTMH)
Thankyou
For someone who collects GB this was painful to watch it like how the journal came out. I hope you will check out my PeterPan journal video. I never thought about my rink calendar. LOL guess she will get her own book., Creative Blessings
hee hee. I got over the pain of cutting into the books, especially because I put all the pages in these. :)
what glue do you use for this project the link above doesn't work
yes, links don't work forever, as some sellers run out of the product. I replaced it with a new link, and here it is for youamzn.to/2YWltMM
Lolly Palooza what kind of glue is in your bottle?
@@KeepingitRealwiththeMillers www.etsy.com/listing/728397449/art-glittter-dries-clear-glue-art
Very cute. Just wondering could you have cut out those images with your Silhouette machine?
technically, yes. ua-cam.com/video/RdBdrbv68jE/v-deo.html I show how there, but it really works with card stock. I think these pages are too thin to use and not have them stick to the mat and tear.
What is the name of your scoring board/tool that helps you work so fast.?
It's a scoreboard -- the one tool I can't part with! amzn.to/2SRFk03
Do you know of another way to bind with out using a cinch machine?
You can punch holes and then use book rings like these: amzn.to/2tKIVj4
How do you decide which wire your going to use?
I used a one inch, but I think that the 0.75 would have been fine. It depends on how chunky the journal is (or will become, if embellishments are added). I use the one inch usually for chunkier books.
Where can we buy off brands coils?
www.laminationdepot.com/ I got mine there, and they are called TruBind. Make sure the pitch is 2:1. Also, you'll be buying in bulk, so beware.
Love it, but just remember you cant sell journals made from these books 😢
yes, that has come up
@@LollyPalooza Can I ask 'why'??
@@anitakartes4244 copyright
That picture of Tinkerbell has scribbles on it. Are u sure u want to use it?
What looks like scribbles is actually a line drawing of her wings
So cute! How old is your daughter?
29 and still loving Pan!
I'm having trouble with this. Sorry. Cutting up books is hard for me, especially children's classics. 😐
I'm not understanding the reason for it.
The ability to add extra pages for journaling
As a book lover, it is so sad to ruin these great books.
To me it's not ruining it, as it is completely preserved -- just added to. Many books-turned-into-journals involve using only some of the pages. I keep all mine in the journals.
Arnt these collectors items your destroying???
"destroying" is in the eye of the beholder. They are kept intact with more added in.
🤍🖤👍
Thank you
