Lots of these reviews mention weddings but in reality, the Roland is perfect for the karaoke nights too. Completely overlooked! This gives a whole new perspective and opportunity to earn money easily
Wish I’d seen this video a year ago before wasting my money on a prime 4. My instincts told me to buy the 707 first off. Ditched the denon now, yes it ‘looked’ the part, but fancy looks don’t count for much when you’ve got a professional job to do!
I love the layout of the SRT, but I also love the flexibility of the outputs/inputs of the 707. If someone could merge the two together, I think they would have a game changing mobile console!
Yeah, the inputs and outputs on the 707M are just what I would love to see, but on the software side some would prefer RekordBox DJ over Serato DJ. If the 707M also supported RekordBox DJ, it would have been no brainer for me.
The only difference between both DDJ 1000 SRT & DJ 707M is the jog wheel which the DJ 707M is smaller than DDJ 1000 SRT. Both perform well during the 2019 DJ Expo. Also difference on both controller is the price which Pioneer DJ DDJ 1000 is USD $1299 incl Serato DJ Pro Deluxe Suite(Value USD $ 299) while Roland DJ 707M comes w/Serato DJ Pro).
It's not the only difference though as Marc points out... Roland's output options are pretty revolutionary with EQ and FX across all outputs and scene presets.
That was a great on both side on the dj controller. But if i'm going pick something that its easy and my go to for big party events or corporate party events most definitely DJ-707M Specially it has the 2 USB Port just like DDJ-1000SRT but I do like the small and ready to go that packs a punch. That was a good review on both hardware''s good job! Funk Up Salute
I got the Roland 707M while trying to choose between these two. Mostly because of the MIDI out that I could connect to my MPC Live. I found that process not so easy, and actually opt to use the "Ableton Link" function on the MPC Live instead. One other thing about the Roland unit is that although it does offer quite a few options for effects, they are difficult to access being you have to search through a combination of clicking and twisting on the buttons and knob to get to assign the different effects. The other thing that I found, and are still working to fix, is that when I use a combo of certain Serato effects, I get a tail of the effect which is natural when it fades out, but mine doesn't. This sound which is kind of annoying keeps going after I lower the fader, stop the track, lower the effects knob and turn off the effects. But still the noise is there. The only way that I can get rid of it is to actually press the track button on the Serato effects section, and sometimes that doesn't work, and I have to restart the unit. I am hoping if I decide to keep it, that I can fix this. Also, the TR drum part of this controller is very limited. Sorry, Roland. I wish I would have chosen the Pioneer ddj 1000SRT.
@@digitaldjtips To be fair to Roland, it is a good controller and the problem that I have with the phantom sound seems to only happen with the Serato effect "Combo TapeEcho". But the only way that I can stop it is to turn off the channel button, and once or twice that didn't work. And then what, shut down? Maybe I just don't use that effect. Don't know exactly where the problem lies.
A very good comparison for Mobile DJ's. I personally compared both and seriously considered purchasing the Roland 707M because of its LMS, Mic and Drum setup. However, after playing on the DDJ-1000, it just feels better. Logic and Reason tells me the Roland 707M is a better controller for mobile DJ's... but my Emotions is moving towards the DDJ-1000.
The 707 m is the swiis army knife of DJ controllers. You did not even mention the fact that it has a conditioner, a limiter, an antifeedback supressor, Plus it has more effects.... and much more..
DJ 707m and the Denon prime go in your professional opinion which one would you go for we know the difference between the two of them but we finding it hard to choose we just want to know which one would you choose and why thank you.
If you're only going to have one controller and you've got a laptop I'd get the DJ707m, this is very subjective not even everyone at Digital DJ Tips would probably agree with me. Try to work out what's going to work for YOU - Scott
In a mobile DJ environment, portability and features is very important to me. The DJ-707M provides features that makes it very versatile. But on a more house party or club like setting, I rather have the DDJ-1000 Rekordbox version which comes to the most important feature of all when selecting a DJ controller. The software that drives the hardware. Now this a preference, not saying one software is better then the other. I prefer Rekordbox over the other DJ software I've played around with. The 707M has my interest despite it being native to Serato. I'm not a fan of Serato, but I'll still use it. I really like the S4 MK3 a lot and almost considered getting it, but I do not like Traktor at all. I feel like the software is the most important feature.
No Thank you on this one Roland. One word - “Aesthetic “ DJs like me loves what a piece of gear looks like. All about the visual, already trust Pioneer on all other levels. Roland just released the Fantom & it looks real good, you need to do the same for this, then come back & see us.
The Roland more feeels like a toy, i have the ddj1000..its a monster and the jogs and. Padeffexcts , the crossfader etc...its just magic...the ddj 1000 lacks connectivity though....
Didn't mention about the FX differences? The 1000SRT does not support serato FX and instead has built in hardware FX, but 707 does
True. Nice info!
@DJ Fooba What happens if you use something like the Pioneer DJ DDJ-XP2 DJ Controller, still no post fader action?
Lots of these reviews mention weddings but in reality, the Roland is perfect for the karaoke nights too. Completely overlooked! This gives a whole new perspective and opportunity to earn money easily
Very true, it's a great controller :)
Most important feature : inputs, inputs, inputs. With dedicated eqs!. I think Roland nailed it on the 707m.

707m is great. Portability and flexibility for mobile DJ's.
Agreed :)
As a mobile DJ I think outputs, multiple USB and multiple mic with effect options is important to me

@@digitaldjtips yes I know that however the DJ 707M maybe use for remixes as well and have you ever thought using Serato Studio on DJ 707M?
needed this video I'm a very mobile DJ need the smallest Gear with the biggest sound and usability
Glad to help
the DJ-707M is for the general mobile & wedding DJ. The DDJ-1000SRT is for the DJ who gives no F's and takes no requests. No comparison😜
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@digitaldjtips we love both of them but you are right DJ 707m is the Better Big man Ting 💯
A 4 channel noob here.
What does a dual layer control jog wheel mean?
Also which one is better S4 Mk3 vs 707m?
It lets you control two channels with one deck by switching between them. No such thing as "better", depends on your needs.
The 707 is made for DJ who like to travel where as the 1000 is made for DJs that can't afford a nexus set up 😂
Or simply don't want to spend the money even if they can!

As with most things, a lot of it depends upon the person and what they're trying to achieve.
The Roland DJ-707M is now also natively supported in Virtual DJ
True to form...
Wow that was fast! Klaus you're a vdj hero! I'm getting the 707 asap. Bye bye to carrying mixers to gigs!
@@P4boot well, I didn't map it - the dev team did 😊
Remember that you currently need the latest early access release for it to be supported
@@klausmogensen8691 I mean you give up to date info and tricks about vdj! Thanks for your efforts
wish more controllers had midi out like roland's
Definitely a cool feature
While a really like what Roland has done I’d have to go with the Pioneer/Serato solution!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Surely the Roland 808 is closer to the price and size to the pioneer 1000? Why you not comparing those?
We do lots of head to heads and tend to focus on the controllers that people have specifically asked about in a comparison context
The 808 is geared towards producing and not mobile/club DJs
Now when the 707 comes out with large jog wheels like the SRT I'm in.
Don't think that'll happen Brian, it's form factor is a big plus point
The dj 808?
What I want is for all controllers to be mapped for Virtual DJ out of the box. Not much to ask for.
Most things are mapped pretty quickly afterwards though once VDJ get their hands on it :)

A suggestion! Now, when you’ve made a video on controller to CDJ, what about the opposite way, or one of them, but it’s turntables! 💿🎚🎛

👌
I need a controller that is more user friendly not heard to use.
Look for a controller under $350
Why do you talk like a newsflash 🤣
Jog wheels are most important to me and I dont like the lack of tension control or size in the Roland.
Did nobody see how American English is used by a UK-based YT channel like this?
Don't think anyone else really cares? What's your point?
Sound Quality over all? Wasnt impressed with Pioneers DJ Controllers in club inviroment so far.
We didn't A/B them but were definitely impressed with the sound of the 707m, check one out in person if you can!
Roland 707 win on this one
Those are not in the same league nore are they are they the same sport . Uncomparable
Yes the SRT is trying to look pro, The Rolland IS pro
What, two dark grey plastic boxes that control Serato DJ software? I'd say they're not only in the same sport and league, but squad...
