- In terms of popularity, Pato O'Ward's fanbase has been surging since that heartbreaking runnerup finish in the Indy 500 in May, and it took another step Sunday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course when, as he put it, he gave his fans something to truly cheer, his sixth career win. It was hardfought, too, in his Chevy-powered Arrow McLaren car over defending race winner and series champ Alex Palou.
I was at Mid Ohio yesterday, his interaction with the fan base was unreal. Talking, engaging, sincere.... A great racer but better person.
Pato seems so genuine, and it's wonderful to see how much he's loved. 🧡

Have no idea why Indycar don't run in Mexico on their GP Circuit when you have a guy like this at the highest level, totally amazes me!...he's great with the media and public alike.
As a Mexican I agree 100% with your comment. Most of the media attention here (and marketing money$$$) is mainly to Checo. Back in the days when Adrian Fernandez was our international driver spot light, Indy was a thing in Mexico. I do hope media here starts to pay more attention to Pato, he is a reality in the category, not a wishful thinking like Checo, in my humble opinion.

@@AlfredodelArenal I believe F1 just counts more there. There was no Mexican in F1 during Fernandez times. Pato needs to win the championship fast, to get the license and then get McLaren seat in F1. He is capable of winning .

Such an amazing racing series, but the back end is just painful to watch - I'm not saying get to F1 levels of audio-visual gimmickry, but at least make it look like we're in 202X not 199X.
