Would it be better to shake the vodka with the "beach" and add the cranberry juice directly into the glass? It would help the cranberry stay on top and not mix as much as it is warmer.

Can do. It’s up to you. Shaking obvs worked pretty well for me as you can see. Also by shaking you add the Air so it layers perfectly.
