Thanks for posting. Changed out MAF sensor quite a few months ago with rich codes (0172/0175) followed by a 0128 (thermostat) that was causing engine to run too cold. I thought that under temp was contributing to my other two codes since I had run across article saying something along those lines...but maybe all along it's not been seated quite right. BTW, changed out thermostat last night and ML is running smoother but prior to running the right temp it would sometimes give me this kind of blip with the engine cutting out, then coming back harder as it appears throttle opened to try and save it from dying. This also seemed to make shifting kind of abrupt at slower speeds. On occasion it would stall. Reset CEL last night, and drove to work this morning noticing it was running smoother, and shifting smoother when stuck in stop and go traffic... but when I started it to leave work the rich codes were back...... I'll go pull off air box and try to reseat though I thought i got it on right since I was able to get the back clip on..
I had this problem in 2016. Wish I had seen this video as I was about to trade in the car. Luckily I figured it out after a few hours of watching videos and checking my work. The odd part was the transmission skipping / banging into gear. It was super odd.
do you know how to fix the trans banging into gear whenever it was cold sometimes it holds rpms at 2k or 2.3k and doesnt shift i would have to either shift it myself or press more gas
Hi..my car a M/Benz e500 is splattering and shaking with a rich fuel smell and irratic idle and after some time all will settle and ok to drive..this only happened after I replaces 16 spark plugs and filters..Prior to this the car ran smooth with no issues..what can cause this please?
@@nizamsulaman8331 check your MAF sensor rubber ring on your engine/intake cover. In my case I didn’t tighten the cover all the way and the maf rubber seal was ripped.
@rp1268 Thank you..I ran a diagnostic and MAF sensor code P0101 came up. I unplugged the sensor and car is running smooth but check engine light is on due to being unplugged. The idle is also stable.
Thanks for the help. I replaced Air Filters a couple months ago and had problems with rough idle and weird codes. Paid careful attention to make sure the Air Box was firmly seated over the MAF and it seemed to mostly help with rough idle. I still get a bit of stumble when the engine is coming down in rev and it hits roughly 500. Could it be a dirty Throttle Body? I have about 75K miles so it's probably not a bad idea to check and replace the plugs as well. Thoughts?
Excuse me, I have a 2012 Benz C300 Recedes which is giving me codes that are P0174 and P0171, and the fault that I see is that when I drive the revolutions they fluctuate between 2 to 2.5k, which do you think could be bad? I hope you can help me, thank you
Got a 2006 Merc S430 with a misfire on cylinder 3 at right around 4k rpms. I changed plugs, wires, maf, air filter, fuel filter, coil packs and checked injectors for a clean spray pattern and im still misfiring 😖 Any recommendations appreciated.. Compression check? I switched coils and plugs around to make sure i didn't have a defective part as well. Just always cylinder 3 ☠
@@salvationbygracethroughfaith often the early fix are easier than the layer consequences... Benz Oil separator spraying oil in the intake: MAF, dirty trottle plate, oil leaking over passenger side exhaust etc... all these money-pit problems are super well engineered to milk the owners when dealers start hanging unneeded parts because they can 😂
I run my clk350 fine with it off it will not cause any problems I ran my daughters C240 with hers off to find a valve cover oil leak and it ran fine for 30 min

In what cylinder will it say the misfire is, if this is the case? Or is it random cylinder?
