Omg she is GORGEOUS! I love all the little details, down to the "biblically accurate" fabric. And that hair colour looks so pretty with her skin tone! 💖💖🙌
She came out soooo gorgeous!! I love her. I've always thought G1 Cleo is the one doll that can rock literally any hair colour, and it looks like G3 Cleo is following in her footsteps hehe.
thank ya!! shes super versatile! i feel so sad that i literallly have like...no g1 cleos in my stockbox. it just feels so bizarre because my stockbox is absurdly stuffed.
I don’t know if you’ve seen Hextian or Sang Bup Be he’s really talented at customising dolls they look like they should be art pieces. And Poppen atelier’s are more realistic looking 😊. So much variety!
She looks lovely! I love the motion created with her arm and leg ribbons. And you do not need an excuse to slow down for a month. You are a human and humans need rest and self care. Also naps rock. You are valid and even during your 'slow month' you created beautiful art!
thank you!! yea its hard. i consider this one of my jobs because it pays a little bit so i feel like a bad worker when i dont get a video up :/ its just hella cold out so i think i just wanna hibernate lol thank you for being understanding!
What an absolutely STUNNING addition to your art collection! Your faceup and details are always so spot-on! I love what you did with the shoe heels - so clever! I agree about feathers - they are a messy business. I wish I had considered foam when I made a Halloween bird costume for myself many decades ago!
thank you!! yea im pretty happy with how everything turned out with her :D oh i imagine human size wings like this would be intense but probably really cool looking!
She is beautiful. I love the ribbon on her arms and legs. The gold leaf is the perfect touch. Bead heels on the shoes looks great. Overall a stunning doll.♥️♥️
The gold's and nudes in the faceup are gorgeous, and the hair goes perfectly. The beads in the heals were such a great idea. Now I want shoes like that. I'm hoping to get a Cleo soon, I think that she's my favorite Gen. 3 ❤️
absolutely gorgeous!! as a former catholic (no longer religious but that does mean i Know Things), there are so many small details that you put into this doll that trace back to actual descriptors of angels. in the what i think was the Book of Ezekiel was that they are made of several golden rings with wings and eyes everywhere. The motion created by the ribbons is wonderful and reminds me of those rings. sorry about the infodump, lol, but i love the design of this doll, and your art style!!
thank ya! no need to be sorry for the infodump! religious stuff is interesting. i was a pretty religious little kid(also no longer religious ha) so it was kind of fun taking all the little things i remember from back then and sort of putting them into this doll.
I just started watching the video, and this is the first time I've come across your channel. I'm not even 3 minutes in and it's an instant sub, because your vibes are so wholesome and I love your voice!
She look sgreat!! I think she's a little too orange-y heavy for the wings to have that kind of a blue in them, but the rest of the doll melds well together
Gonna be completely honest. I don’t always watch your videos bc I’m not a fan of going ham with the blush. That being said… I think this is one of your best face-ups yet, in fact one of your best dolls. Very ethereal and beautiful. Great job!
She looks great, and I totally want her dress! I haven't paid much attention to the G3 dolls, but wow Cleo has a great body! It's reminiscent of the ever after high girls!
thank you!! yea im super happy with how her dress came out, which is nice cause i was super worried for a bit haha. theres some really cute bods with g3! i hope they come out with even more variety in the futureeee.
It’s interesting as I’ve seen quite a few doll customisers use superglue/strong glue to close the head and they haven’t said they have issues with it. They still use this method when re-rooting anyway, maybe it’s the type of glue. Some choose to glue after they’ve finished adding the hair though, it can make it easier adding glue to the hair as you see where it it’s going lol.
yea, i dont see how super glue would hold if youre rerooting even if its incredibly strong just because of the force you have to use but hey, maybe theyre using some sort of industrial strength glue.
Oh and I laughed when you said you used gold leaf in makeup things before - when I was 15 I broke an Etch A Sketch and used the silver powder for makeup - I think I read that it's like aluminum powder or something and I can't imagine it's any kind of good to put on your skin. I've seen gold leaf used in makeup before, like Sarah Brightman has put it on her hands a lot for concerts, so there must be a non-toxic way to do it.
:000 woah i totally didnt know thats whats in an etcha sketch!! makes sense though, just surprising thats in a kids toy. oof, RIP us hahaha. when looking into gold leaf(because ive never actually looked into it, ive just been told by numerous people its toxic)if its fake gold leaf theres probably copper in it which isnt good for you, i imagine what i used is imitation gold leaf for this doll since i got it from a cheap resin kit. its also just a thin flakey kind of floaty material so its easy to breathe in.
first time commenter but i HAD to for this doll, she is just so gorgeous 😍😍😍 i especially love the hair and gold flakes on her skin, it really makes her pop! you did incredible work and i'm excited to see you customize more g3 dolls in the future!
Gorrrrr geous!! I love so many things about this doll! I don't have any g3 yet, Rainbow High/JH/SH have been robbing me blind the last several months but I am going for the G3 once my dolly budget recovers. I love the eye pattern thing for the angel, since apparently like you said some types of angels have a bunch of eyes all over. I casually googled it the other day and read that the bible describes different kinds of angels and they have different names, and that's all the effort I put into reading it, lol, but yeah one of them is this horrible monster with eyes and wheels and 6 wings lol. So anyway this doll is awesome, from the thumbnail I thought you used for the crown/halo the one from the RH dia de los muertos crown but you made it and it looks awesome and I've got to make one or two myself. And don't feel bad about feeling bad - as one of my favorite craft people recently said, "Seasonal saddies are for seasonal baddies!" (Rachel Maksy) loll
thank ya!! im really happy ya like her! oh my gosh rh/sh/jh need to calm down with all the releases! i want so many of em its overwhelming. its a really cool fabric, happy i picked it up while we were in kuwait :) yea the whole eyeball/6 wings/wheels angel thing is definitely one of the more kooky things in the bible haha. the crown was super easy to make if youre trying to make one! love that seasonal saddies saying. i think i just want to hibernate. its just so dang cold.
ok so i need to tell u that I love your dolls so fucking much that u have no idea you just itch the right spots on my brain, like using darker pinks and reds to shade darker skin tones (a bunch of artists don't do this and just make the dolls look ashy 😭), shading the body!! so it looks coherent with the face, the details overall and making them genuinely pieces of art I just love it (also your humor and personality just tops everything off and makes the video so enjoyable)
wahhaa thank you!! yea ive noticed sometimes people use not quite the correct shades for deeper skintones, or rather theyre just the same shades they'd use on lighter ones so it just doesnt look quite right. im happy ya enjoy my vids! really, it makes em worth the effort :D
@@jackyohhhxo yeesss, for me it shows you really care about your art and are dedicated for it, I just love it (im I'm am artist so it's impossible to not notice details like this) and also me being a darker skin person i just feel seen 🥺
Have you tried using a handheld clothes steamer instead of the pot of boiling water? I make synthetic wigs for drag and was hoping to use this technique when trying my hand at customising dolls.
If this is something you’d be interested in James Mansfield has a video regarding wig ovens , you could replicate it on a smaller scale with a plastic bag or cardboard box . It would relieve some of the face up anxiety atleast
@@jackyohhhxo I’ve done it since writing this comment, it’s super quick. I had three barbies and some really old hair rollers in the smallest size, only fit about 5 into dolls whole head and it created a swooping fringe and blow dried waves. The cool thing is it’s instant, so the hair heats up becomes damp and I took the rollers out after 20 minutes while it cooled down. The curls were pretty set only issue was the partings but that covered fairly well just by brushing the plugs. I imagine if you left it overnight after the steaming the curls would be more locked in / no dampness in the hair. I can email you pictures of the results if you’d like , I took a few process pics
@@jackyohhhxo I used a 15 pounds , clothes steamer from Amazon that cuts off after 12 minutes. It was perfect and you have more control due to the handle / spout

Cleo's bandages being sculpted on works with her character. If you want to put her in different fits, she'll always be "alive" since her bandages keep from getting dusted. Although long sleeve outfits would be a bit difficult because of that texture.
They actually don't use glue for the g3s. They melt the hair plugs into the inside of the head. That's why it's much harder to get out.
Ooo! That's a really neat change, why add/use another ingredient when melting the hair plugs works just as well if not better.
honestly im pretty sure i knew that, its just such a force of habit calling it glue since i typically paint older dolls haha.
@@RedVelvetRabbit And it won't cause staining over time! That's actually a great idea
