As a Leo, I could not be more thrilled on how she turned out. I was especially excited to see the kintsugi because the concept of taking what’s broken, and not only repairing it, but also choosing to accentuate the scars instead of hide them means so much to me. She’s a powerful sun goddess and she knows and absolutely kills it!
Also a Leo, this is the best and least cliche Leo representation I’ve ever seen. It’s got the strong lion imagery without being too on the nose I love it so much
I have a lot of scars from numerous injuries and surgeries, so I really appreciate the idea behind Kitsugi and I also love animals 😊🩷

I'm honestly so glad you did a muscular female doll! I feel like there isn't enough good rep of muscular women. I think you did a great job, she looks beautiful and fierce and it's a wonderful and unique interpretation of leo! Also, for Virgo, maybe a mexican or greco-roman inspired look?
The Virgo constellation might have been Ishtar and/or Astarte in ancient Babylon. It would be cool to incorporate Babylonian art styles and maybe even give her wings like these ancient goddesses. From there it would be cool to use the greens/nature the sign is associated with to incorporate serpent themes, so a bit Quetzlcoatl

Barb, a good way to work with glitter fabric is to spray a thin layer of hairspray on it before sewing, it still sheds but not as badly and is easier to manage. I used to dance and we would always spray our costumes lol
gotta be careful tho because i’m pretty sure hairspray makes it a little more flammable
For Virgo I think you should take some inspo from the older iterations, like for the sumerians she was a deity of harvest and knowledge (businesswoman or botanist?) . Generally Virgo is associated with many female deities (Isis,Ceres, Ishtar even Virgin Mary sometimes) most of them are either love or plant associated

I've seen a few people mention it so I also want to throw in having a boy doll for Virgo!! That would automatically make it wildly different from every other interpretation ( I am one of the virgos who is tired of just "white long haired lady" lol). And it would be a lovely compliment for this doll, a masc/muscular lady, to have a femme/lithe lad :)
No matter what you do, I'm sure I'll love it! Every doll you make is knocked out of the park, and better than the last! My favorite part of this doll is the little detail of the blue claws/nails 💙

Every single zodiac doll completely blows me away, they're all so beautiful!
A suggestion for virgo would be a viking theme/Nordic gods, like a shield maiden since virgo is 'the maiden'. There's both Valkyries and lots of female gods! There's also a lot of maiden type creatures in folklore, like nymphs or the huldra ✨
Another suggestion if you want the "virgin" aspect of youth, fertility (I don't know a better less creepy word, I hope you understand what I mean) and status, is royal paintings and fashion from years 1500-1700, which also crosses over in the territory of christian iconography and art, such as saints and stained glass art, which could be pretty cool!
And final suggestion is to make her old, something rarely seen for virgo. A kind and wise old woman full of stories

I HAVEN'T FINISHED WATCHING BUT I'M SO EXCITED!! I'm a Leo and I don't really fit into or vibe with the confident self-serving materialistic image that Leo's are seen with, so a stoic looking kintsugi Leo feels much nicer. She seems gentle and has been through struggles and I think that's a better take on Leo 💛

For the virgo design, I think it would be a good idea to base it on the lotus flower, because lotuses emerge from the mud without stains, they are often seen as a symbol of purity, another meaning of the lotus flower is transcendence, reaching a higher state of being. that could reflect the perfectionist side of virgo, like trying to perfect one self

i absolutely LOVE this doll! As a leo, we are known to be confident and born leaders. I like your take on the masculine prompt, and the kingsuti really brings out the gold, and it makes sense, since we tend to hold into our emotions until we break. As a Leo, i absolutely adore her! It’s so interesting because the tarot card Strength is connected to Leo, it’s a woman sitting together with a lion and this doll reminds me so much of the card. The cracks that have been mended and the physical strength in the muscles, absolutely gorgeous
I'm really happy that while gold is used, it is not... a reigning color. As a Leo myself, I've gotten sort of tired of the horoscope being constantly associated with 'leader type', 'gold', 'sun', bla bla bla... This version of Leo is so... refreshing. Thank you very much.

I'm late to the game to watch this but I love her! The way you chose the prompts was too cute. I have a kintsugi tattoo so anything inspired by that art form will always have my heart. For me, it represents that even with my own insecurities and mental health and the like, I am still a beautiful creation. I love that you didn't just paint the gold but instead, carved in the marks! It added such a wonderful definition to the body

Well with these dolls I realize it's a stretch but I've seen other doll artists push them to be at least thicc, so it'd be cool if Virgo, the "Beautiful One" could be another step in the direction of including lots of types.

Inaccurate proportions? On Monster High? Inconceivable!
The resin and gold powder is actually a bit similar to actual kintsugi. Gold itself isn't used to hold the items together, rather a gold powder is dusted on top of the resin or lacquer that binds the pieces.

The reversible cloak was a stroke of genius - looks like she’s wearing either the evening or morning sky!
What you decided to do with the kintsugi when the first method didn't work is actually closer to how it's done in reality! It's not actually fixed with pure gold, but rather with a lacquer that's either painted or mixed with gold powder! So gold powder and resin for a doll?? Perfect choice and perfect looking results! She really turned out absolutely gorgeous and it's extremely refreshing seeing such a muscular woman allowed to be feminine and elegant~!
She turned out really well! I love the kintsugi detail, and I love that you went a different route with the masculine prompt. A tip for future glitter projects: I don’t know if there is a European equivalent to Swiffer duster cloths, but if you can get some, they are amazing for cleaning up glitter.

As someone actually familiar with the actual Kintsugi process, I’m really impressed w how you guys jerry-rigged it!
I think it is so interesting how the process you end up using to add gold to her actually closely resembles the traditional kintsugi method, very cool!
A few things: she reminds me of an Amazon warrior, and I love it! Also I like that you added some gold powder on top of the UV resin, as that's very accurate with the kintsugi process. ^_^ I've seen videos of how it's done, and the gold is always added after the cracks have been lacquered. And I LOVE that you made her dress reversible! Fantastic!

Every addition to this series just makes me more and more excited to see what you come up with next! The prompts have all be interpreted so beautifully, and with such creativity. I am blown away! I think Leo depicted as a strong muscular lioness with the gold kintsugi and onyx coloring came together perfectly. The addition of the heterochromia was the icing on the cake ❤. I am actually excited to see what you end up creating when you get to my sign pisces. The fish trope is way overdone and knowing the two of you, I know you will come up with something awesome. I can’t wait to see what the two prompts end up being and getting to watch the two of you create something amazing!

She turned out SO cool. I love how you actually cut into the doll for the kintsugi and didn't just paint it on. The glitter fabric gives galaxy vibes and I love it. And while her body turned out AMAZING, if you ever need to do a muscular girl again and don't want to do so much work, I suggest using DC Superhero Girls as a base.

I have some suggestions for prompts for Virgos! Virgos are the "pure" sign but they're also very practical and perfectionist. So things like Angel, Professor, Lamb, Symmetry/ Balance, Minimalism, Dove, Rain/ rainbows, Lotus, Butterfly, and general themes of nature apply really well here. Also it's so funny that people associate virgos with long hair because every virgo I've ever met has had a bob cut, pixie cut, or really short hair of some kind. So I think aiming for a short hairstyle would look great for the lineup but also really work for Virgo energy!

Honestly, I didn't think I was gonna comment, but seeing her broad shoulders really made me happy. Even if I'm not build like a body builder my chest is very wide and I've always been so insecure of it. Seeing a doll that has my wide broad shoulders and her still being feminine really made me smile and want to cry. Thank you so much!
I think there's this trend in modern playline dolls and resin bjds to make very small shoulders and chest, flat belly and huge hips. We want some more diverse silhouettes!
I love the choice of body type! It's always nice to see underrepresented body types showcased and muscular women tend to get as much (if slightly different) gross commentary as plus sized ones. This Leo approves!

I know this is pretty late but as a Leo, I am actually quite fit and muscular and my arms and legs are covered with small, faint but still visible scars (mostly from handling my birds and cats). I really felt a connection to this doll and think you did a fantastic job with this muscular kintsugi lion.
“Glitter, the herpes of the craft world!” I remember when I quoted that to you! I will live forever! My youngest is a Leo and this doll suits them so much. They are healing and I mentioned kintsugi to them and how beautiful they will be at the end of this beautiful journey.
