Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Hey y'all! Don't forget to sign up for your free trial of FareDrop before Sunday! If you do, you'll get 25% off the yearly subscription (which will be $35.88). Hope you enjoy today's vlog! ✈❤😊faredrop.com/
Kara and Nate so happy it was such a success!!! Safe travels and love your show!!
We are in! Can't wait til we get to the US/Canada to test it out. Well we can kinda wait... Since we are in Ecuador. BUT we didn't want to miss out on your big launch! This is extremely exciting, and we are so thrilled for you guys! Can't wait to read next quarters income report. We just read your last one. HIGH FIVE! We are so stoked for our biz to explode like yours. We are going along at a good kip, but it seems as though you work your buns off for SOoOOOO long with decent return... AND THEN... You guys have seriously picked up some tail wind. We are so thrilled for you both. :) - Erin + Brian
Ps... Great video. Sometimes the universe pushes you along faster then you would like for a reason. Love how positive you guys handled it. No reason to get that upset when you have a lifestyle most wish they had.
Kara and Nate I was at Maho Beach today & it was soooo crazy being able to tell my family that my favorite youtubers were there previously 😭 Hope to meet yall one day
Any chance you guys will open it up for flights from HKG?
Kara and Nate if I told you that I signed up Tuesday with New York Newark as my home airports and haven’t gotten any emails, should I be worried? Thinking I did something wrong.
4:34 Small correction: The largest Orthodox church in western Europe is called Uspenski Cathedral, which is located in Katajanokka, Helsinki. The one that you showed us in the video is called Helsinki Cathedral, which is an Evangelical Lutheran church.
You can see the Orthodox church at 1:11 behind Kara :)
how is Finland Western Europe?
@@laocongge Technically it isn't. I believe that in this context "Western Europe" means outside Russia.
@@krislively2130 Geographically Finland is in the Eastern part of Europe, but it's considered a part of Western Europe in the common Eastern/Western European divide where Western Europe is Germany, Austria, Italy, the Nordics etc. and Eastern Europe is Russia, the Baltics, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, the Balkans etc.
@@laocongge Because Finland has never been a communist country. It's culture and sivilization is western style.
I can see substantial difference in video quality. Its crisp and sharp as hell. Great upgrade guys. Even sound quality.
Totally agreed! Awesome quality with the new cam! :)
Aren't the Finland clips recorded some weeks before Istanbul or am I just confused? Can't see any better quality than before in these videos.
No we bought the new gear on the way to Finland!
I love that you wrote "Kiitos kun katsoit!" at the end! :)
Katso venäläisiä. Älä koskaan anna heidät pois näkymästäsi.
ktm sx Kuinka vanha oot
You guys really put in the work on editing this video.
Always!!! :)
Cannot agree more! Well done you guys ;-)
Oh man, please re-do Helsinki properly like late july or august 😎 I really hate to see Kara in pretty cold weather still back in march 😬
We will definitely be back 😍
@@KaraandNate 👍👍
The best thing about you two is how you can turn a disappointment around and laugh and joke about the situation. Shows how lovely and laid back you both are. Loved the video, can't wait for the next one!
Welcome Egypt Luxor city Osama Nofak tour guide 0201003691748
Ok i love the "thank you for watching" in another language please do this more, with other languages!!
Will do!
Omg you guys pronouncing sauna like us finns was so cute! And Kara you’re right, we actually pronounce words like they are spelt
Jonna Katariina spelt.. lol spelled
Yes, Finnish is very phonemic (pronunciation equals spelling). Only few other European languages are so phonemic, i.e. Serbo-Croatian (Croatian - my first language).
1.29 se sanoo soona eikä sauna
Linda Cassell, ”spelled” is American English but ”spelt” is also correct. We mostly use British English in Finland because that’s what we’re taught in school.
E
You are so decent and kind couple. Never lose that . Thank you .
Yes sir♥
Helsinki Cathedral is not orthodox church :D
Was about to write the same 😂
Although there is a large orthodox church just a short walk away, so I guess they just got the two confused
@@UndeadScavenger Yeah, same thoughts. Pitty that they needed to be so in a rush.
@hkistreet I've seen both whe I visited Helsinki several years back, and I think it's very interesting to seem them in contrast to one another, the Lutheran being very simple and the Orthodox very opulent.
Came here to write the same comment, then the first three comment to this comment.
That's what we get when we visit a city being in a hurry! Finnair should get K&N back especially to see Helsinki and more of a country. And then Saint Petersburg too.
Helsinki is expensive af !! btw you are entitled for €250pp in compensation under the EC261 for Finnair canceling the flight less than 7days before the departure even if they booked you into different flight, you have 3 years to claim it.
Shut up
Yes if you are poor
@@Tilanderr no nii
helsinki isnt that expensive
@@Sporax nii just
That wasn't an orthodox church. Just normal lutheran church. And I noticed you published this video quite a long time from actually being in Helsinki. All the ice from the sea and snow from the fields disappeared about five weeks ago. Now there are leaves on the trees and everything is green. And it's totally normal that every taxi driver anywhere in Finland helps with the bags.
But I really hope you can make back to Helsinki some day. I recommend late June or July.
You guys are so amazing because you’ve been married for so long and travel together and don’t get sick of each other that’s true love
Positivity goals: Kara still looking so chilled and happy while Nate is talking about how their flight got canceled!
A disappointing day in a country like Finland is still a hundred times better than the monotony of life back home.
I can relate to...😭😭
home is where?
Where is Your Home ?
@@holoholopainen1627 he is from bindiya
I just love how positive you are even despite cancelled flights and plans being ruined!
Loved this so so much! Travelling is not always fun and games right 🤞
i absolutely love nate and kara’s camera work and editing. their videos are so aesthetically pleasing and are improving with every upload 💓
You guys have the best fun, most adventurous, see the best and most beautiful scenery and experience interesting things.....and yet you managed to keep a smile through it all😃
Just when I was looking for something to watch with my coffee 😁😁😁😁
PERFECT TIMING☕
Same :-)
I Love the Finns and Finland! Only great experiences!!!
Love the little market, food is definitely something we'd love to go for wherever we travel.
Video quality has improved dramatically!! You two are serious pros at this stuff.
All you need after a bad day is Kara’s smile. ❤️
Please come back to Helsinki one day, it's great! preferably in summer when you can enjoy the outside :)
That's what Lake Michigan looks like in the winter. It is breathtaking.
I like how you so casually said “while we went to India”
We are loving FareDrop so far! We can't wait to watch the next video from this series!
That soup though! OMG, it made me so hungry. And the new camera made it so clear I could almost smell it. I think I know what is coming next (from Instagram) and I am so excited for this!! 💖✈🌎📷☕🌲❄
Wow! New camera is nailing it!!! It’s really highlighting Kara’s skills 💕
Really enjoy your vlogs...next time your in UK you should check out the highlands of bonny Scotland..there unreal and very beautiful in summer. Take care Alan and Agata x
Alan Wilson allthough i never liked traveling outside of finland i have always wanted to see scotland
2 years ago I was in Finland and I took i tour from Helsinki to Norway we saw the aurora borealis I remember coming to the first restaurant in the video and the clam chowder there is SO GOOD and the salmon soup Kara drank as well was delicous
The sauna analogy on the bus was epic! It's my bucket list to be that far north in the winter for the northern lights and then again in the summer when the sun never sets. Hopefully, you can go back when it's warmer. The European sauna experience is definitely something to do!
LOL I loved Nate's analogy too. We'd love to go back in the sunny summertime as well! Both have their fun perks!
Woah!! This vlog is really showing how AWESOME the upgrades are. Love it so much 🙌🏼
Yayyy glad you can see a difference 😍
I had lived 12 years on Finland (My whole Life) and i've been in Helsinki maybe only one Time.
Mä oon elänyt 12 vuotta Suomessa (mun koko elämän)ja oon ollu Helsingissä ehkä yhdesti.
😊 just a happy watcher! Thanks for sharing since I can't travel right now!
♥😁
Ah that sucks, but you do what you have to I guess! An unexpected early flight is better than a day in the office, any day!
🇫🇮 Finland is such a beautiful country!!! 😍 🇫🇮
Hi, you two!! Always happy to see you both! :) Made it before 100 comments for the first time in a LONG time! My sister and I are planning our first trip to Chiang Mai for next year, all because I was inspired by how much you guys love it! Cannot wait!
Ahhhhh have fun and eat lots of Khao soi for us 💚
Hahahah SOWWWUNA! Thanks guys for another video ✨ I’ll never get tired of watching your videos!
Hi Kara and Nate really enjoying your vlogs!!!
Hi Kevin! Glad to hear it!
As we say up north: the colder the air, the warmer the heart! Happy travels! ❤
Can't wait to see more Finland videos! We are curious about Finland and hope to go there one day.
Wow I can definitely tell the difference with the quality! Everything is so much crisper! Great video guys!
Love your vids! Keep up the great work guys!
That’s a bummer when plans don’t work out. But, like Kara said, y’all can go back some day👍🏻 and we’ll see a nice highlight reel from this video😆
Hope y’all enjoyed take out in the gym🤸🏼♂️🥢
Stay you 😘
Those running shots when it started to rain made me giggle xD
Love your videos and the new gear is awesome!!! I also signed up to the website this week and can’t wait until I start receiving great deals like you do!!! Keep up the awesome travels!
The decision to buy the new camera was a great choice. It looks super crisp! Great choice!!
Also when you come back, don't do the public sauna! Get a cabin outside of Helsinki and try a real deal old school sauna. I can help!
I love u guys sooo much!! I always wait till I post!! And now that I am sick I can watch it early!!!
Feel better soon💜
I Found your channel a few weeks ago and I've been hooked ever since! It's pretty much the only thing I watch anymore. Love you guys and your videos :)
Aww 😊
Kara your editing skills are just incredible !!!!! Your videos make my day. More laughs, adventures of of course that fooooooood!
Aww thanks so much Amy! I couldn't edit well if it wasn't for Nate's filming skillz 😊
He’s pretty fantastic too !!!
always love your content and the way its presented, you are an inspiration, love!
As someone who studied abroad in Finland (from California, talk about a change), this vlog made me super nostalgic.
Love watching your videos! 💕
Greetings from finland! 🇫🇮
I’ve been waiting for you to visit Finland since I first found your channel! Tulkaa seuraavan kerran Tampereelle! 🧡😄
YAYYYY! Finally here early!! You guys are my favorite 🥰
Goooo Stephanie! Thanks 💜😁
Love the traveling!! Im in Hawaii right now shooting and headed to Bali in 2 weeks. Keep up the awesome videos!! -Back2Life
So excited for the next video
Love that you were here in Helsinki!!
Kara's face at 7:47 is a straight up mood! Do you need a Snickers?? 😂😂
That new camera is definitely noticeable!! I didn't really think it was in the first video using it but after watching 30 seconds of this one I am blown away! The speed ramping was incredible!
Thank you😁♥
I'm so sorry your time in Helsinki got cut short. I hope you get to visit some day during the goreous summer. 🌳🌲🌿 Next time do come to my hometown Tampere as well! It is the most tastiest place in the country and we have the largest food hall in all of the Nordics! 👊 We can take you to a real sauna at a summer house here as well! 😁
Can't wait for more Kemi adventures!
Oh my gosh these people are the best! I love all there vlogs! Subscribe to them!!! They are so real and so amazing! They deserve so much love❤️ I’ve been watching them for so long and it’s so entertaining! This is what I want to do when I’m older and they actually help make that possible ❤️❤️❤️
Pumping out the content💪, Great vlog!
1:35 You know Kara is excited & happy when she skips along... :)
Just small correction: that white church isn't the Orthodox church, it's Lutheran church. The Orthodox church is behind Kara at 1:11 :) Too bad you had to cut your day short in Helsinki but more reasons to come back! :)
Loved the food hall/market in the old building! Bummer that Helsinki got cut short, but on the plus side Kara didn't have to jump in the cold water. 😉
Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!!
We can't wait to share it with you ❄💙💦⛺🚢
Doing research so I watched your Morocco videos. Love you guys, I HAD to laugh. Since then, your southern accents faded & Kara is more bubbly(how was that possible), and your videography & editing skills have gotten soooo much better.
We have changed so much since the beginning! As people and DEF as vloggers! I actually really enjoy watching videos from our first year anytime I need a good laugh 😅
Editing on point Kara!
Amazing new camera gear! Cheers from Buenos Aires
I hope to see you guys reach 1M subscribers soon. FareDrop is an awesome idea. You guys are pulling all the right moves 👍
I was there in May 2017, the people are like family there!!!!!
Everybody knows Everybody !
Perfect timing. We are flying to Helsinki on Saturday!!! Gutted you couldn’t stay longer.
UGH have extra fun for us!!!
THANK YOU for saying Sauna correctly! Drives me up the wall when people say 'sah-na' instead of 'sow-na'
Time for SAUNA ! A Finn invented FIRE - it is easier to burn the wood & heat SAUNA !
Hey just adore your videos. Recently watched your trip to Jordan(2 weeks after returning from there). Hope to see you in Spain soon
Yep. When traveling, sometimes you have to roll with the punches! Still an awesome travel vlog! Loved it!
Kara and nate is the best of you tube
If you go back when it’s warm they have a beautiful outdoor market with great food and lots of fun shopping tents! You can also take a boat to an old fort and it’s lots of fun!!!
Awww, I'm sorry your time in Helsinki got cut short. It's disappointing for you, I know, and it's a bummer because it looked like a beautiful city and I wanted to see more. But... it's a great excuse to go back, maybe in the summer? I bet it's spectacular then too! 🤗❤️
The editing in these videos are 💯💯💯💯💯
We came to Helsinki by ferry from Tallinn. Had some good few hours there, which was plenty of time. At the end we use the outside heated pool & saunas near the harbour, which was great. Next time we would just go straight to the countryside :)
I’m waiting to see Kara and Nate announce their 100th country be their seventh continent: Antarctica!! Now that would be a vlog!
Another note Kara and Nate should’ve done a Netflix show like Departures!! Kara and Nate! Please do a Netflix travel show if you continue travelling after this!!!!
yall should come back during the summer sometime, finland is very beautiful in the summer!
100% doing that!🌞
Love you guys!
You guys rock! Holi back to Helsinki! It looks like a pretty place to visit. I’d love to live that life with those kinds of “problems.” We can only hope to be like you some day! Love it!
Love&Flight they are living the life!
joybear absolutely! We dream of that. Hopefully some day soon.
Yes, there are worse problems to have. I wish.
We got a Kara and Nate video yesterday and then another one today. I feel like I just won the lottery!
This is what happens when we aren't traveling! Lots of editing time! Lol
I've run into a predicament. I started binge watching (for the second time from the beginning) in mid-March, and now I've caught up. I don't know what to do because I've seen every video on the channel twice now lmao help 😂
I know the feeling! Not the worst problem to have I suppose? 😁 Thanks for all the support ❤️
When I was there last Megabus and its competitors were a great way to travel, never more than $15 and amazingly clean, friendly, and on time. Check out the city of Turku if you get a change to go back, seeing the Posankka and Turku Castle are really fun. Also Vappu (May 1st celebration) is well worth experiencing anywhere in Finland and is a warmer time of the year!!
You guys are so used to having to be flexible in your routines that a change in plans is almost like nothing and you go with the flow lol if this had been me I would have been so stressed out that I’d have been in the corner of the hotel room crying 😂 I don’t do well under pressure and it takes me months of planning just to travel 😅
The ending with Nate swimming was so funny
So funny seeing you in the plane I use all the time. :) If you want nice weather, you should come to Helsinki in July. At even then it might be cold and rainy.
Just about to drink my turkish coffee and I saw this upload, like could the timing be more perfect? I think not.
Cheers ☕
Love your videos!
Awesome video as always, Kara and Nate! :) Just one little detail, the church you filmed is Helsinki Cathedral. The Orthodox one is a few blocks away. @4:35
Hahaha thanks Leevi!
Lovely flight!
We loved Helsinki. We ate at the same Market hall and also at the Market Square from where we took a ferry to Suomenlinna . The church we loved was the Rock church, Temppelaukio. I strongly recommend seeing that. It was near our holiday apartment, near the Sibelius monument.
Finnair was our carrier too . No issues. We flew SIN- HEL- ZRH roundtrip. We were there in June and left when the sun was shining at midnight, midsummer solstice.
