you should sell those clamps if they work on Yamahas, Harleys, Triumphs etc as mentioned in the vid... some people don't have access to a welders or welding equipment ;)
I rear ended someone and ended up with bent forks. A shop straightened them simply by clamping and hanging weights on the ends over a few days. Did not dismantle as far as I remember, Probably would not have passed the roll test but worked fine afterwards.
Fantastic video and you make it look so easy. Where did you find the aluminum press blocks? I have access to a press but the press blocks (especially the circular one you used on the press) are hard to find. Did you have these custom made at a machine shop?
Those are follow bars from my tubing bender from Pro-Tools . Now I have had the bender since the late '90s. I do believe you can still get them but I don't know for sure. Thanks for watching.
I have 2007 costom 1200cc no damage to the fram bent forks did not bend frout rem or flat the tire i cliped a ford 250 i never laded over . Only fork handly bars light and thodel cables and brake c able .hit right fork.
Depends on how hard of a bend the forks had. But yes the molecules have been charged in the fork metal. New fork tubes are fairly cheap but some people just want to straighten their own. Thanks for watching.
Well yeah if you continue to have accidents and you keep bending the metal you change the molecules structure of it yeah it will break. This is only a demonstration to show that you could straighten small deviations in your forks tubes. If you feel like the forks are unsafe buy new. Thanks for watching
I am from New Zealand and I am currently rebuilding a crashed 2023 Yamaha R7. My RH fork is bent ever so slightly and I really am not looking to fork up $800 USD for new parts (pun intended). I was wondering if I could possibly pay you to help me fix this fork. If so, how much would it cost? Please send me your email if this is something that you are willing to help me with. Thank you.
I would look for someone closer to home to do the work. Shipping cost would very expensive, plus I'm not taking on any more work. But thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
@@outlaw86custom where are you located, and shipping these light tubes won't cost much. I'll pay up and back. As I can't see your charges being a fortune. When I say slight bend. It's barely noticeable what's your zip code

His roll test didn't look as good as you would want. If you've ever mounted a front wheel wrong and caused a tiny (not perceptible) bind, you will know how bad being a little off can cause the suspension to act harsh and behave weird and unpredictable (acts like too much rebound damping, then suddenly no rebound damping). I'm not saying his method can't be done. I'm saying it needs to be done a bit better to avoid bad results. You really need to test this on a piece of glass and have it roll smooth. For all the time to do that, you are probably better to look for some used forks on ebay, rather than trying to straighten your own.
If your forks are bent buy new tube you don't have to straighten them like I do you can get into the variables and everything else most of the stuff I'm doing is for dirt bikes off-road not your choppers or your cool bikes. But thanks for watching
I was doubting this but that roll test blew my mind. That’s some impressive precision you have in those hands.
It's all in the feel.
Amazing! I am very thankful for this knowledge to be passed on to the young generation! Thank you!
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Nifty C clamp . What a good safe way to install the top plugs. Thanks. Richie.
I recognize that shop! Wonderful welds, greatly appreciate your channel.

I'm thinking nobody would buy them or they just make their own they're too easy. Thanks for watching
It's a privilege to watch you man....

Not sure what you are asking?
You are brilliant Sir...
Thank you.
Can all of your videos be one after each vidoe so I can see all of them. Thank You
Because the search engine on UA-cam is only set up to go from newest to oldest there's not much I can do about. Sorry I know that is not much help.
Great idea with clamp👍
I just crashed my moped and what I did was I found a tree and then turned next to it and started steering and it worked well
Well it is a moped, that's great and thanks for watching.
Sir this fork is from harly 883?
No fork is off of an XS 650 but straightening forks are all basically the same. Thanks for watching
Brilliant video
Over the years I've done fair amount of straighting forks. Thanks for watching
Is straightening these tubes safe? Isn't the metal compromised after multiple bends? I'm asking for peace of mind if I was to do this.
Depends on how hard of a bend the forks had. But yes the molecules have been charged in the fork metal. New fork tubes are fairly cheap but some people just want to straighten their own. Thanks for watching.
I'm surprised you didn't protect parts of fork tube in v blocks with leather or rubber to prevent marring chrome on fork tube.
@@johnbell6114 I did protect the forks those were non-marring aluminum blocks if you look closely ,using leather or rubber tends to give too much.
@@outlaw86custom thanks for clarification, where can aluminum block/v wedges be found? There's a HFrieght near me.
@@johnbell6114 not sure nowadays I bought mine years ago and I think it was through grizzly tools.
Great content!
is this safe? like can the metal break in another accident

Would you be interested in straightening my fork tubes there slightly bent
It depends on your location just thinking of shipping cost here and back again.

Right now I'm 3+ months out on projects.
now i just need a few thousand dollars of tools
Or a good floor jack and away to block it, like in the old days.
