This was the first time I genuinely feared Kirby's Bible wasn't enough, and Zero2 was about to hit him with "Your god cannot save you here."
Zero2: I *AM* GOD
And then "A light from heaven suddenly flashed around him"
This is like turning "telling your mom you got an F" to "telling your mom you got the highest grade in class"
I love how Kirby was offered a gun to take out Zero 2 but he knew what was the right way of going by it.
This 100% feels accurate to meeting 02 for the very first time.

From the stare Kirbo was making when Zero2 opened its eye, I thought the joke would be him flipping the pages faster trying to find the perfect verse to aid him before he gets blasted.

granted the visuals aren't actually that graphic or scary but finding something that bleeds in a cute little game about poyo is still such a subversion.

Something tells me zero was praying to something else sadly...
(warning: text wall incoming) Maybe it's just me, but I think the situation's a bit more complex than that. Zero being the source and lord of the Dark Matter invaders is effectively a godling in his own right, and he's most likely seen the other great dark beings of the Something series perish pretty easily.
Note that Zero is one of the few beings to not be turned into a spirit by Galeem, which makes him (presumably) more powerful than Tabuu, and possibly the equal of the 2 World of Light villains. As such, he'll have seen all the other "gods" of the Something-verse go down like chumps and thus assumed that Kirbo's God was little better - he seems to be the only one as far as I'm aware who hasn't been instantly destroyed by the power of Christ.
However, it's important to note that Zero, while being the source of Dark Matter, is steeped in a different _kind_ of darkness than the other villains Kirbo's fought. Those villains, even Dark Mind, who's at least in fanon considered to be Zero's mirror world counterpart, either invoke the Devil or at least openly revel in evil and arrogantly assume themselves more powerful than God and thus, like the Devil, are struck down for their actions. Zero, however, is tied to cosmic darkness as opposed to spiritual darkness and thus can be redeemed and baptised, which he is once Jesus shows Himself to him. This indicates - at least to me - that Zero was an agnostic higher being that just needed enough proof that God is a power that's genuinely deserving of his worship.
