I've been riding indy ace and krux for several years on my set up, i don't skate street just bowl and sometimes vert. Krux bushing really really good when you put it on ace because the rebound they have, ace bushing in the other hand for me feels really good on indy. I tried a lot of bushing to make krux k4 turn starting from indy until bones with some of the durometer they have, all of that i used only the cone shape, but recently i bought fullset of globe 9 inch board and have a 6.0 tensor truck with interlock bushing, at first i just want to try it for fun cause that's too soft to put on tensor truck but after i put it on krux, my krux truck just turn really good, it feels turny nearly like indy and more stable than any other truck i've ever ridden, for sure going to buy another set of krux again. But between the k4 and k5 i don't feel any major differetn it's really smilliar actually, it's more of changing the bushing duro and shape to make it feel different and behave different. I change the bushing because i saw your video about bones bushing with krux truck
I am so appreciative of your vast skate knowledge Ben. I actually really enjoy Krux for cruiser setups because they feel very wavy in the turn. Indy's turn is surfier and more immediate responding as you've said. Everything you said is actually spot on, wowm.
Remember the thinner grinding surface means less friction. So it should slide better overall, but like you said if it caught between something it might not slide through certain shitty ledges.
Wouldn't the smaller surface area create higher pressure at contact patch? I was literally thinking up a super wide (50mm) grinding surface when I read your comment. It seems like the wider surface would be exceptionally slippery.

I love my Ace's but I swear every single pair has had bushing pinch that left a permanent 'pinch/bite,' mark on them. So, yeah, maybe I will try some Krux bushings and see if that is different. It might just be the washers though?
@@johnmurphy4273 I vividly remember explaining that same thing to my stepdad in the 80's when he was beating the crap out of me for 'destroying good equipment,' when he saw me grinding curbs. So, yeah, I know that. What I am talking about is not normal truck wear. I am talking about damage to the stock bushings, and right out of the box on a first mellow session. This is not something I have experienced with my Ventures or Indy's. I have also experimented with replacement bushing in the Ventures and Indy's and have not had this problem with those either. A couple of things, I love my ACE trucks and I actually really like the bushings. This isn't a 'hate on ACE bushings,' rant. Also, I don't tighten them at all, I like them loose and the way they are right out of the box. I own two sets of ACE trucks, a pair of 44's and a pair of 55's. I have had 3 sets of ACE bushings. I got my 44's back in Septmember/October. Installed them, didn't tighten the kingpin at all and took them out to the parking garage across the street to do a few test runs. It was a mellow session of just feeling the turn and carve, couple of ollies and that was it. At multiple points the bushing would pop out of the washer lip and get hung up. It was bad enough that I couldn't get it back in with normal wiggling. I had to loosen the king pin and pop it back in. This also caused a permanent 'pinch,' on the opposite side of the bushing where the washer bit into it. I sent a photo of it to ACE. They said that shouldn't happen and sent me a replacement set of bushings. Same thing happened to those. I got my 55's a couple weeks ago. I didn't get the hang up issue I had with the 44's, but I did get a permanent pinch mark on my bushing from light carving and turning, right out of the box, on the first mellow session. The reason I think it might be the washers is because I had an extra set of Venture washers laying around after putting Bones bushings in the Ventures. The washers have just slightly less aggressive lips than the ACE's washers do. So I swapped them out on the 44's and didn't have another 'bite,' or hang up problem. Once again, I have never had any bushings get pinch damage like this. Cracked and bulging, totally. Maybe it's fine, I don't really know if the damage effects the integrity, but it does seem weird considering I am not pushing the hell out of the trucks on the first couple of rides.
@@andrewanderson1988 The skateboard gear failed in quality. Gear has short life. Especially truck details. From creating geometry to actual manufacturing and continue with all mistakes and cons for many years without fixes. Most brands doesnt update their product and just put new colored stickers in box. All this bushings/washers/nuts/pivot cups/kingpins poor quality in stock well known problem. The biggest improve was wheels. Finally premium urethane formulas survive through skate and destroy mode
@@acgwestsidesb6410 The new Ace's have different bushings and so far they are amazing, no pinch. They are a tad less 'stable,' during the push like the old ones, but not a whole lot.

Ben out of curiosity. What’s the wheelbase on this truck in comparison to Indy and ace. Is it tight like that or wide like thunder? Also is the height lower than ace and Indy, like a thunder high? Or is it about the same as a Indy 55mm height. Thanks in advance mate 🤝. Keep killing it

After about a week we just nailed our first ollie, the content on both channels is super underrated. Any tips to stop my grip tape from eating every pair of shoes I wear in one skate sesh, or is that just from me rocketing ollies while learning?
Shoe goo designated skate shoes around the toe areas where you see the most contact. Also do this if you're going to practice kickflips. Hopefully by now you have a real answer instead of what's above
When I first got my krux I loved them. Now, even when they're tight (like 3 or 4 teeth down) they still feel pretty loose. If your reading this recommend me some good trucks for an 8 inch wheelbase.
just get harder bushings.
@@xxbrkdwnxx I put some in the shopping cart. Just waiting for fundage lol
hey guy, can you do a review on ceramic bearings? i heard weeman talk about rocketsskateboardbearings.com, they sound pretty good, wondering how they stack up against the bronsons
Krux are cool because they have a hole in them and the inverted kingpin inverted kingpins are the future
The hole is so you can pop a bottle!! ;) seriously though, I’ve popped open a brew or two on them.
Exactly. They are a pretty good bottle opener. Thats for sure
Cool review Ben. And you're partly a psychic ei. I am sitting on the toilet. Ahahahah. Cheers mate. God bless
😁
Not on the toilet but def procrastinating from work lol
Bronson ceramics? Well la-di-da! Mr Degros riding on some fancy balls!
😏
@Rico Seriously though I'd like to see a review of those. Never tried ceramic bearings myself because they're usually very expensive.
THANKK YOU FOR THIS REVIEW
Ben out of curiosity. What’s the wheelbase on this truck in comparison to Indy and ace. Is it tight like that or wide like thunder? Also is the height lower than ace and Indy, like a thunder high? Or is it about the same as a Indy 55mm height. Thanks in advance mate 🤝. Keep killing it
Krux K5 are 55mm tall- they feel in the middle of Indy and thunder (the pop feels like a Indy) and the weight is wonderfully perfect
