such an inspiration to see a regular family man do what he loves it's fun seeing youtubers who skate for a living but there is really no connection with them but with your channel I find that love the content keep it up.
Shout out to all the dads out there who fit in time to skate while still working and being a family man. I recently got my 3 yr old into skating with me. I figure since I have 2 girls might as well let them skate too.
James Topham i have 3 girls and 1 boy. My son loves team sports but hasn't taken much of a shine to skating. He can ride around at skateparks but the passion isn't there. As for my daughters, I figure I will probably get at least 1 out of the 3 of them. My son is only 8 still and I think its too frustrating for him.
Do some more day in the life’s they’re pretty interesting and more relatable than all other UA-camrs. I have a family and Job too and find Time in between to skate to. BR from Germany
Ben Degros gaaah! I can't plaster for toffee. Blimey, started watching a skate video and here I am commenting on how impressed I am with your work skills. Great finished kitchen by the way. You can tell I'm properly old. 😁
Man I was not entirely sold on this channel, but to see you riding with your work clothes during your lunchbreak.. True working class hero! Respect to you
I’m an 18 year old plumber and you’re such an inspiration to me I used too think I couldn’t skate anymore because I work too much and it was time to grow up but now I try to squeeze in a session at least every other day during or after work because I saw this vid 😂
Ben, as much as I like your skateboarding I do respect your "regular" job. The kitchen you showed is super nicely done. I've lived in many places in my life and moved many times so I can appreciate good construction work. And looking at your current videos I can say you have made huge progress in skating since 2017. As a 44-year-old beginner ( three months of skating now ) I find it encouraging. Keep it up!
I got really mixed reviews. Some people love the personal ones and other people just want the reviews/tutorials. I will make another one though. I enjoyed making it. I will just make sure vloggy things are clearly labelled as such and not give a 2 minute review in the middle of a 12 minute boring vlog.
Hey Ben ! I normally don’t comment on UA-cam but I love love love how you represent yourself and I love how fatherly and supportive you are. You inspire me in skating , progressing as a human, and becoming a great dad like you. I absolutely love your channel and you’re so UNDERRATED!! Hope to see more and take care of yourself !! Thank you for such great content ❤️🤘🏻
Idk y but after watching your videos for some time starting with the one i saw about getting back into skateboarding in your 30s me just being 30 and feeling insecure about picking back up the things i love after getting clean from opiates and alcohol you have bin an inspiration and i liked this video for some reason..
I subbed to your carpentry channel when I needed to learn how to patch a hole in my basement, saw your patreon link, noticed it mentioned skateboarding, and then stumbled on your other channel... now I’m subbed to both 😅 I love this type of content. I’ve got a growing family right now and there’s something really inspiring about a guy who has a full time job, a family of six, and still manages to cultivate a hobby or two. I’m not even into skateboarding, I’m just happy to see somebody out there who’s living proof that I can manage all of this and not go insane. Aspirational stuff :) Anyway, keep up the good work. When I have a couple of bucks to spare I’ll try to sub to your patreon 👍🏻 If you were anywhere near Minnesota I’d hire you to remodel my basement.
Drywall work... Hawk and Trowel... Ugh! More power to you! I'd rather flip burgers than do drywall for a living! lol... I think the cold made your bushings extra squeaky! lol... "Looks good from my house!" I couldn't help but laugh! My father is in construction and I was years ago. We've both helped each other to remodel our homes over the years. My father and I have said that to each other for more years than I can remember! Good Stuff! :-)
It's definitely an acquired skill. I don't think I realized just how much of it I was going to end up doing while I was acquiring it. I have applied a tidal wave of mud in my day.
This is a cool video on so many levels! Side note: I don’t know if it’s on purpose, but your backpack shows up in almost every video sitting around in the background watching you skate. It would be funny to do a day in the life for it because, if it could tells stories...
You should do more dry wall videos because: 1) That's where the big bucks are 2) You're pretty good at it 3) Hey how do you avoid those little specks of sand and twigs and whatnot ruining the finish?
Hi from Portugal ! Thats a real video off real life, many people have no clue about the effort involved in having a "real life" and still enjoying and sharing a sports passion with all sorts of related contents. You are an amazing person, congratulations ! please do not stop your amazing experience sharing. My best regards.
I love this...man what is it with Skaters and drywall and painting work....everyone of my friends I skate with paints does drywall or roofing!!! Fucking love it
yooo i love how i can relate as a skater in a construction job site for a long time i felt like i couldn’t balance myself but watching you have a whole family and two jobs makes me have more hope and push myself harder now 🦈
Man, you just inspired me to kick my dad game up a notch. "Only in the western world do we need to tell our children to eat" lol. I'm using that from now on.
Oh wow! So I just stumbled across your skate channel as I just bought a new board after 10 years of not skating anymore, not realizing that you are the same guy I subscribed to last year when I needed to fix my dry walls. Wow. You’re awesome man.
Thanks for helping me figure out all this new wider board decisions as I come from the time when 7.5 was the norm. Also thanks for helping me figure out how to skim dry wall in my garage.
Dude your skating while being a parent while having a job and still finding a way to be the amazing skater that you are is so cool and you inspire me so much. Ps: The form that was you have for putting on that material on the wall was so cool
I am a fan of poor overs too! I also have two Hario V60 handfilters and 7 kinds of beans atm. Sometimes I make a mokka in my ibrik and I'm thinking of buying a french press.
Good one, enjoyed the pleasure in ordinary life. I agree that it is relaxing to see entropy being reversed with the creation of order and clean lines. Happy mudding...
Ben, you have just inspired me to skate again after 20years! I can relate your daily life as to mine, except that I'm a gymrat and workout at any free time given instead of skating 🔥❤
You applying that plaster reminds me of Bob Ross when he paints with his knife. Props to you for working a long day and still finding time for the skateboarding
You're a great guy Ben! Please don't mind me saying but I just feel your profession should be in some sort involved in skateboarding. You have a real talent in explaining and describing things, so I'd just like to encourage you to share your knowledge and talent with the rest of us. Your effort is more than appriciated! All the best from Austria!!!
Jeez you're not only very good at skateboarding but a good family man too and you can work with your hands as well ! I got some work to do in my house if you want ! Nice channel..
Really good decision to delay the instant gratification of the laptop first thing in the morning. For anybody that may read this: staying mindful and having a reflective/meditative moment every day may not seem important, but it makes a huge difference.
such an inspiration to see a regular family man do what he loves it's fun seeing youtubers who skate for a living but there is really no connection with them but with your channel I find that love the content keep it up.
I often feel there is not a lot of depth to the content on some channels. Not enough life experience to draw from.
There's something super relaxing about watching the way you apply that plaster.
That's because he's the one who's working here and we're watching. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s so satisfyinggggg
It’s magnificent
It’s good for the brain
Shout out to all the dads out there who fit in time to skate while still working and being a family man. I recently got my 3 yr old into skating with me. I figure since I have 2 girls might as well let them skate too.
It's hard to find the time but I am a better father and tradesmen when I have some skating in my life.
You're a good man Ben. I know what it really takes to put your family first before anything else.
It takes a lot. Some day I will talk on that topic.
Ben Degros that would be a good video. Skater dads unite! 🤓
I love how you balance Skateboarding and your job at the same time that's awesome :)
It's taken me a while to get to this point. I can only do it by being self employed. Nobody can tell me where I need to be and when.
#Skatedad
Do some more day in the life’s they’re pretty interesting and more relatable than all other UA-camrs. I have a family and Job too and find Time in between to skate to. BR from Germany

I see fame in your near future.
Your too kind:)
Are you Ted degros brother?
Hi from the future with Ben Degros at almost 30k
@@fivehourenergy6159 soon he'll hit 100k!
Hey Ben, greetings from Santa Cruz, I am skateboarding contractor too, couldn’t believe it when you started doing mud, inspiring ...
East side!
This is obviously Canada your boss not only lets you skate in your lunch break but offers to film the whole thing too
I'm genuinely delighted that I found your channel. With any luck I can improve my plastering skills along with my ollies and 50-50s. Keep it up!
I've spent many days with a trowel in hand. I have the neck and shoulder problems to prove it.
Ben Degros gaaah! I can't plaster for toffee. Blimey, started watching a skate video and here I am commenting on how impressed I am with your work skills. Great finished kitchen by the way. You can tell I'm properly old. 😁

Respect to you
How you have the energy for all of this is beyond me

That's was such an entertaining video! Please do more of this style
I got really mixed reviews. Some people love the personal ones and other people just want the reviews/tutorials. I will make another one though. I enjoyed making it. Ben Degros for sure, I showed the video to my little sisters. They couldn't stop laughing
Mixed reviews? You’ve got a 99% upvote ratio on this video. Seems people liked it

My new favorite channel 👍🏾

I did my first plaster job a few weeks ago and took 20x longer and looked 1/4 as good haha, you're crazy with that thing.
It's definitely an acquired skill. I don't think I realized just how much of it I was going to end up doing while I was acquiring it. I have applied a tidal wave of mud in my day.
You’r the definition of a hardworking family man
Ben sees the kids..Joy face! 😁

That's what I carry my camera gear and skate tools in!
You should do more dry wall videos because:

2) You're pretty good at it
3) Hey how do you avoid those little specks of sand and twigs and whatnot ruining the finish?
Follow Vancouver Carpenter, same awesome dude, different focus.
He has another channel focusing purely on the carpentry/contracting stuff.
Oh the guy above me told you the name of his other channel already my bad
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing.
I like how you still find time to skate, besides being a dad and working really motivates me to skate
the dad energy at the start is so funny
That soothing sounds like skating sounds

Just a tip from a fellow tradesman skater. Spray windex on your silicone caulking and a popsicle stick to pull the bead to get a nice clean finish.
How have I not been exposed to your channel? Saw one , watched another and subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Your so busy. I though having one kid and a full time job busy but you really take the cake. So much respect for what you do
I dig the finish work as much as the skateboarding. Nice job!
I know I'm 1/2 a decade late but that spackle work was inspirational 🙌
I love this...man what is it with Skaters and drywall and painting work....everyone of my friends I skate with paints does drywall or roofing!!! Fucking love it
Waking up before everyone and drinking Coffee waiting for them to wake up is the most dad thing ever.
yooo i love how i can relate as a skater in a construction job site for a long time i felt like i couldn’t balance myself but watching you have a whole family and two jobs makes me have more hope and push myself harder now 🦈
You seriously are the man dude!!!
I've been watching you on your other channel for years! Just found this channel completely by accident. You're everywhere bro!
Man, you just inspired me to kick my dad game up a notch. "Only in the western world do we need to tell our children to eat" lol. I'm using that from now on.
Watching you work is mesmerizing
just want to say you're a great dude and I really enjoy your videos! I love how you're a family man and a skateboarder! keep up the great work!
Was the contractor the one filming you at the skatepark? Cuz that's rad
He was. He's become a good friend of mine over the last couple of years.
Oh wow! So I just stumbled across your skate channel as I just bought a new board after 10 years of not skating anymore, not realizing that you are the same guy I subscribed to last year when I needed to fix my dry walls. Wow. You’re awesome man.

Admirable skills both carpentry and skate Ben!
A very productive day. Good video!
I am a fan of poor overs too! I also have two Hario V60 handfilters and 7 kinds of beans atm. Sometimes I make a mokka in my ibrik and I'm thinking of buying a french press.
Socal seems like a polar opposite to Canada . Anyway appreciate the top tier content from the the Inland empire
2:00 sweetest 'Hello' ever ! =)
I have to agree with you but I admit I might be biased.
Good one, enjoyed the pleasure in ordinary life. I agree that it is relaxing to see entropy being reversed with the creation of order and clean lines. Happy mudding...
You are an inspiration. Thank you and please keep it going! Cheers
Ben, you have just inspired me to skate again after 20years! I can relate your daily life as to mine, except that I'm a gymrat and workout at any free time given instead of skating 🔥❤
I binge on your channel. Thanks for being real.
Not only am I inspired to get back on my skateboard, but I learned that all this time I have been using a trowel that is too small. Thank you sir.
subbed, never too old for skateboarding.
you are an inspiration, i have 30 years old and i will back on my board, saludos desde Mexico
Don't follow your passion in life, rather keep it with you along the way.
Mike Rowe taught me that! Dirty jobs is still awesome. Still watch it all the time.
I appreciate the honesty in your videos.
2:30 he puts on the "Dad Face" #realskater#realdadface
Oh my god. You literally look like such a good dad
You applying that plaster reminds me of Bob Ross when he paints with his knife. Props to you for working a long day and still finding time for the skateboarding
I really enjoi your videos, greetings from Argentina!
You’re my favorite skateboarder
Enjoyed this video, upload more like it
I will someday.
You really helped me with your wheelbase video and I'm really enjoying the rest of your content. Subbed :)
This reminds me of back when I used to watch mr Rodgers on pbs kids in 2010
love that first park
You're a great guy Ben! Please don't mind me saying but I just feel your profession should be in some sort involved in skateboarding. You have a real talent in explaining and describing things, so I'd just like to encourage you to share your knowledge and talent with the rest of us. Your effort is more than appriciated! I will find a way to give some tips.
When you were putting up that plaster it was giving me some hibachi chef vibes
high quality dad
Hi thanks for the welcome. Great channel
Gd man, you seem like a busy guy, thanks for all the hard work making content
The Mr. Rogers Of Skateboarding!
We pack very different lunches... Two burritos and a Monster for me.
You, my friend, are a very rich person! Family, passion...
Ha , bunnykins plates & bowels .
I had those as a young'un in the late 70s. 😁
This video inspires me so much
Really enjoying your videos
I think i never saw a video with a 300 to 1 like ratio.
Thumbs Up guys 👍🏼
Thank you Ben
Make more of these! 👍🏼
Jeez you're not only very good at skateboarding but a good family man too and you can work with your hands as well ! I got some work to do in my house if you want ! Nice channel..
Love the channel by the way bro!
Ben, you're inspirational.
You deserve at least 100k! Hope it happens soon for you 👍🏼
Really good decision to delay the instant gratification of the laptop first thing in the morning. For anybody that may read this: staying mindful and having a reflective/meditative moment every day may not seem important, but it makes a huge difference.
Old school bmxer myself. Great way to end they day after a long day remodeling
That's the way you start a good day.
Do more day in the life videos! 👌🏾
