In spell chess endgame a rook behind a pawn is really powerful - if the opponent tries to block the pawn the rook can just jump over and take that piece.
Some other chess adjacent games like "shotgun king" could be fun to watch

I think that you were a bit confused with the freezing part,especially when you played c2 in the endgame.From what I understood tactics mostly work when you freeze second.
