Thanks 👍, it's different on windows though, you have to right click on the layer style and click select pixels, copy it, before going to paste in the vanishing point page
Ок. So for everyone like me who is confused: - you can only paste an image INTO the filter itself. Not after u applied the filter. Which actually makes this feature unusable for me. - you can't really transform the image that u want to paste AFTER u added it to vanishing filter. You can press CTRL+T in that filter but the inconvinience of the points you will see is confusing and if the image was big - you won't be able to find it's end points. So before pasting anything make sure to prepare the right scale of the layer you want to paste. - you can't paste smart object. Also a huge deal for me. Because of the reasons above simple prespective works better for me.
Did they change it though? Because you used to be able to transform the image after it was pasted, but while the filter was still open. It won't let me do that anymore.
the problem is when you were coping u clicked on the layer, u have to click on the thumbnail instead, in the layer u can see the photo but in smaller size, click on that then copy
The only issue (I could be wrong), is that with conventional skew tool, you can still keep it a smart object. In the event the logo or image changes, you can just double click and update the image or logo.
I figured out something that worked for me, as I was having the same problem. When you're on the layer of the piece you want to copy, click CTRL + A to select the whole layer. Then CTRL + C. Then when you've drawn your perspective grid, CTRL + V. That fixed the problem for me
No matter what I do I cant get this to work. When I am in vanishing point and I click command V it simply turns my vanishing point into a square with blue corners. My image is in my clipboard so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
@@TheTCOLL yes, i got it, we usually copy images without make a whole selection but herewe should make a selction before copying , anyway thanks brother
Great tutorial! As usual, you didn't teach me anything because you show only 10%, and the rest I have to figure out on my own. I click what you click, but something different happens for you and something different for me.
I know this is way after the fact of the date of this video, but who knows who might see it, read it and have an answer for me. I cannot paste, place, drag, copy and paste, anything into the perspective grid unless it is an object that I draw using the Ill tool bar. All I am trying to do is paste an image of a rainbow - a PNG image - or a jpg I have downloaded, but it never works. Is there something that most of these tutorials leave out like A. Making something a Smart Object? B Making a mask? C Rasterizing the image? D Creating an outline of the image? I mean, why will nothing work? I follow exactly the directions from these various tutorials, yet it never works. Mac, or PC. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks
vanishing point pixelates the image. looks like crap. the vanishing point filter has only been around for 18 years, I'm sure Adobe will figure it out one of these days.

EDIT: doesn't work
I've copied my poster/frame object... but its not letting me paste in the filter pop up (I created a new layer). What am I not getting?

You have to make an active selection first before copying.

Doesn't work! As others have said, you can't do the Command-V to paste into the Vanishing Point screen.
Lies. Paste it and then drag it onto the grid you drew. Works just fine
