He wasnt scared of falling, rather he was scared of breaking or dying. When he fell, and smelled the flower, he realized death is not breaking apart or the end, but he saw it as a return to the grounds where his flowers come from; a return to his favorite part of the world.
Beautiful story. I think the man was not wrong in his fears in the first two cases. Those would have been fatal (falling from such height or falling down the stairs). But he became exaggerated in his fear and started to worry about little things like stumbling. So, I think fear is good till some point. But it gets wrong when it turns into paranoia. For example, you are afraid to go in a dangerous zone, and that's ok, but being afraid to simply leave the house because something might happen is really not ok. So I think the moral is considering fear to be some advisor but never leave it to totally control your life.
@jaangri jaanesh why have u said this ? I 'm sure that u h've no talent .....if u have no talent cant u appriciate others talent .....oh i was forgoten that u r a fucking toy
This is really sad for me, because my grandfather was so afraid of falling that when he did fall, he worked himself into such a panic that he actually died.
The pot represents our physical body while the flower represents our soul. Eventually our body dies and will be buried. But our soul will forever live. That's why in the end? the old man looked up in the sky. There's no need to fear death. We simply have to prepare for it.
Nice one! How about this: we are afraid to fall from the social ladder, but when we do it turns out all just fine, because we, just as a plant, are a part of this animalistic / floristic nature and we simply get back to where our rots start from, our original home. So there is nothing to fear.
Hernandez lol same here. For some reason reminded me of a dog’s skin disease I watched long time ago... worms would come out of each pore.... it was called something like mango flies or something like that :/
Really charming animation with a strong message at heart about how our fears can consume us if we ignore them too long. As someone who struggles day to day with social anxiety, depression and OCD I see a lot of myself in the old man despite my lesser age. Such simple, trivial things have sadly become obsessions through their reoccurrence and my brain blowing things out of proportion. I, too, need to 'plant my flower' and look up at the wonder of the world surrounding me lest my fears, both rational and irrational, consume me. Sometimes it can be the most simple things that resonate with you and make you evaluate your own life. I can only hope that anyone out there in a similar predicament can find some hope and enjoy life the way it's meant to be x
This one was amazing. The story was deep (the good kind) and I really liked how the music and the visuals changed to go along with the plot. Great job on this. :-)
What I've gotten from the video: the old man is actually really afraid of death. He saw death as something very bad, ugly, painful and sad like the shattered vase, the torn out books, the broken kettle and the shattered picture frames. Then when he actually fell, he fell on a bed of flowers. Ah... Death can be comforting, relieving and beautiful. So he took the vase of flowers which should've been 'gone' before, and left it on the ground, letting the flowers be the beauty for the next life to enjoy. I hope all elders enjoy this video, not suffering from the fear of death. As you'll be leaving behind happy, beautiful moments to the younger generation. 💐🌸🏵️🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷
I sent this to a man I adore, who seem so afraid of being vulnerable. I wanted him to know he didn’t have to play it safe. When you fall I’ll catch you ♥️
This is some beautiful artwork. I loved the subtle then deep emotions of it all. Visually stimulating as well. When things are going right in our life sometimes we are faced with circumstances that leads us to have fearful imaginings. We then create our next path instead of accepting that we have to be accepting of change and see things for what they are not how we think they should be. If we face challenging circumstances with a fearful mind then we will face the same circumstances unless we become aware of what life is revealing to us. There is beauty even in the midst of chaos. Thanks for sharing.
The message I got from this short is that caging up yourself in a tall, fancy house, far from the ground (wanting to do great things?) can make you feel unsafe and uncomfortable, and it doesn't matter how many reminders of "good things" you have around you (pictures, flowers). So, when you finally find the right environment (setting) for you, although it may look "simple", when you fall it will support you. That way your fears get eliminated. It turns out you were just trying too hard. It might be better to let things run naturally, and become more accepting of things (and yourself) as they are. (Looking at the pictures more carefully, I notice that they show a tree and the man holding his flowers, so all he ever really wanted was to live around trees and flowers, but instead he was keeping his dream in pictures and trying to bring it with him in the big buildings. So he was probably paralyzed by his fears cause he was far from the things he loved. In the last house, he didn't need the pictures cause he didn't need to live in the memory: He was there.) That's my take anyway :)
Profound. He has accepted his own inevitable mortality. He realizes the body falling is actually the beginning of the spirit rising, not the end of anything. He really passes away at the end. It's so peaceful it takes him a moment to see it. And the audience as well. This is an amazing short film.
Ownnnn so remarkable, sweet, so sensitive, touching. That reminds me those good times that we’re normally lost along our ways. Thanks for bringing back those memories and thoughts ❤️😍
What an absolutely gorgeous little film and, to me, a very profound one. It announced a truth we often miss as we go about our lives: Matter is not destroyed, it is transformed and we do not die, we simply return to the void from which we appeared. The Universe knows what it's doing, as the old man discovered.
What I learn from the story is that We are all afraid of failing that we ran away from it. Our fear of failure stops us from taking risks and will just waste some opportunities. When the old man fell, it was then he realize that failure isn't that bad at all. It is something that opens us to another path and failing isn't something that we should fear about. It is something that we must face and essential for our selfgrowth.
The man who was afraid of dying, and then he died and found himself in Heaven. The broken/taped up flower pot represented his fragile/broken old body, and his soul was released from his body at the end.
He lived in an urban environment in a multi-storey building but we observe that he loved nature because he had so many flowers. When the flower falls it just brakes and he realizes how unnatural it is to live so high above the ground and then he moves into a rural area and enjoys mother nature. His life becomes so satisfying that he doesn't care if he falls (dies) because he had enough joy. I loved this short😌
The things that you avoid might wind up happening, but how will you handle it? Will you endure it or will you let it break you? This is a lovely, well done film about a fear that several people actually do have.
This reminds me of my grandfather, he stayed alone all day at home and the last time I visited, he told me that he had just fallen down the stairs !! Ofc it makes me feel guilty. Because when I was young he took care of me, and now I am very busy with my work. I can't visit him often, it really worries me all day long.
The story just says that not every things that is falling can be broken, sometimes you need to fall so that you can rise up, in the old mans case, he need to fall to not be scared of something there is nothing to be scared of
