VW Tiguan went off the highway above my house and 200 feet down basically a cliff, which responders repelled down. Driver was alive and taken to hospital. Car was deemed unrecoverable and marked with orange paint. Now my view of the hills features an upside down car. I'm not even mad; I'm impressed!

Люди ехали в отпуск с детьми отдыхать на море, остановились на светофоре и...
Удар сзади в левую четверть( лонжерон) MAZDA CX со скоростью 60-80 км/ч... безопасность сработала.
Пассажир спереди нос разбил, все остальные целы, оформили дтп , забрали вещи и поехали на автобусе дальше на море. Очень крепкий кузов и кстати , машина после такого удара могла недалеко передвигаться своим ходом! По ходовой , поменян только подрамник и продольный рычаг, остальное в идеале прекрасно работает! Так что по заднему краш тесту 5 +⭐

That's actually not bad, it's about 50km per hour, frankly speaking I'll be very happy with this car from the safety perspective. Mind you, you are hitting the wall directly, not many cars would survive direct hit like that. Obviously it's not older Volvo category but yeah, this car will certainly save you and your family.

I'm wondering why the right front seat side window curtain cushion has to be activated IF you only have a perpendicular full front overlap collision.
It seems to me the most modern front seat passenger dashboard/instrument panel cushions do a very good job of head protection by themselves.

Does anyone know the purpose of the bolted metal plate on the left rear side of the vehicle?

It's used in conjunction with the speed trap to calculate the speed of the vehicle at the time of impact.
