I was a foster parent and got sick to death of being told "We're not to judge". F'd-up people are f'd up people. No judgment, just an honest observation. It’s not so simple.
      1- Call APS & often there is not enough to justify an investigation.
      2- minority communities are rightly paranoid to get APS/CPS involved. There is a history of taking kids when it’s not justified &/or placing in foster care which can be another place abuse happens

      If you want social workers to be able to act on every complaint they get, try voting for people who will actually fund them. Everyone wants the government social services to be better, but no one wants to pay tax. Pick one.

    • @Mink_Tracks
      @Mink_Tracks Місяць тому

      @@mikesanders8621 paying more taxes isnt the solution. Stop for a second and take a peek at how much americans pay in taxes. We pay more per capita than many countries who pay less yet has abundant social service programs. Why is this?
      Youll find your answer by looking at what Kamala and Biden have spent our tax money on in the past 4 years. (Big hint: its not going to americans).

They tried to hide it with mortician's wax. I saw it up close. I went outside and cried in the street. This death marked that semester in a way I can't describe. The suffering of adult patients never traumatized me, but seeing Elisa in that condition---severe abdominal swelling from ruptured internal organs, apparent cigarette burns all over her body, and the bones of her cervical spine broken---got to me.
    The Loisaida (Alphabet City to you gentrifiers) artist known as Chico did an excellent wall mural of Elisa on the side of a 6 story building in her honor. It's no longer there, but back then it was a marvelous tribute to that poor child.

I've contacted people, I've had long thorough conversations about this case specifically, and if the best we can do 27 years later is a park while her mom walks free, then that alone says a lot. Its a total joke. She deserves much better than that. You might’ve not forgotten her but you're a tiny percentage of people who should know and don't. I remember this story. It was headline news all over the country..... Little Elisa suffered in ways no one can even try to imagine. She was completely at the whim and mercy of monsters who targeted her for torture and death. And to think that baby girl thought her father left her, until her mother screamed at her and told her he was dead. Oh my dear God, what kind of nightmare was she living in!? And you know, anyone of us could've raised her with more kindness and care than that sick person who happened to be her mother. I hope her "mother"never, ever gets out of prison and rots away with misery, guilt, and pain until the day she dies alone...in a cell.

    this absolutely broke my heart. from the moment you said her father was diagnosed with cancer, to the day he died having been the day they were supposed to leave for Cuba, the horrific treatment at the hands of her mother, all being prefaced with how beloved she was by everyone. how even prince Michael was so taken by her he paid for her school and was also going to pay her way through college. She could have been something great, she would have made her father even more proud than he already was.

    This breaks my heart. She had a father who loved her. My mother was jealous of me. She explained it to me when I was in my thirties and in therapy. She abused me mentally, physically, emotionally and sexually. She served me up to the pedophiles in the family. I too, was starved. One of the few times they took me to a doctor he chewed them out for me being malnourished. We moved constantly, just one step ahead of children's services. I attended eight schools in nine years in three states. I'm grateful to have survived my childhood. Babygirl, up in heaven, I love you. I know. You didn't deserve that. These cases need to be handled with ONE hearing to determine if the person in question did what they did and oncr its confirmed they're thrown in jail for life. No parole no good behavior, none of that corny shit. Just straight prison and thats your life now. So many children lost their lives in BRUTAL fashion and half these people are walking free working day jobs like nothing. IT NEEDS TO CHANGE. Never in my life did I assume if I caught a body id get out in 7 years or less. Shit is a walk in the park for a body. Its a joke.

    It's bad enough that men will not get involved if a woman is beaten or s3xally assaulted by a man in public, but for people to turn a blind eye to child abuse that is obvious is disgusting. Children will stand up for other children, yet adults do nothing and worse, often protect the abuser.

    MAN... this was a hard one to get through without pausing, I believe the mother resented this beautiful little angel bc she was & is beautiful & she knew her father absolutely adored her, and all the attention she got bc she was such an amazing little girl, and she had none of that. When u read the part where they chopped off her hair I thought how her father made sure it was perfect everyday, when u read they used her head as a mop I thought the same thing again ( but it was still so powerful the statement u read ) everything her father took pride with everything he did for his daughter this pos ( bc she's no mother ) tried to take it all away from her. Then u read that she actually got the rights to the little girls body ( to be buried where she wanted her to be ) I'm disgusted bc she lost all rights imo when her dad got her she NEVER probed herself, how did the monster she married was allowed round children when he stabbed her 17 times? All the ppl that did fight for her ( except the neighbors bc their's no excuse) the neighbors ( if it was me ) should've ran up in that damn house & just did something or at least make so many damn calls the police have to come. I'm SICK & TIRED of so called "mother's" getting custody just bc of that title, it's obvious she wasn't changing & everyone involved that failed this baby should be held accountable imo ( especially the judge that allowed all that he allowed) anyways she's with her father now where she can be treated the way she remembered but it's sad she thought her father abandoned her, she was taken from this world a little beam of light ( u could feel her light with her big bright smile through the screen ) RIP TO HER WONDERFUL FATHER THAT KNEW NOTHING AT FIRST ABOUT KIDS BUT LEARNED, THEN MADE SURE HE MADE A BETTER LIFE... RIP👼 ELIZA UR STILL THE PRINCESS U ALWAYS WERE U WILL NEBER BE FORGOTTEN THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO HEAR THESE STORIES. My deepest condolences to everyone that was in her life & loved her & I pray u can heal in time at your pace & find peace u can tell she touched so many ppl & at least she was loved for the time she was with her dad & everyone she met her pos "mom" had no right to take that, I know these stories are hard to hear but just remember what these children have been through & it's only right we hear their story bc they lived it RIP PRINCESS 👸!!

      Yes! Chopping her hair off was an attempt at taking that part of her away! It was part of her beauty, girls take pride in their hair, it's their crown, and she knew that. Only jealousy and envy would lead her to do that.
