I absolutely love Leland, it’s close enough to Wilmington but also not too close. It’s a gorgeous town.

Thanks for the video. Leland is a nice town, but unfortunately it has become overcrowded. A large percentage of trees have vanished due to new residential/commercial construction. As a result of the influx of new residents and developing land, the area has changed dramatically over the past decade.

Thanks for the video update! I love Leland and hope to eventually call it home. I'd love to hear and "see" a bit more about the beaches nearby in your next video.

We are very interested in the Leland area. Do residents worry about the PFAS in the water down there?

    • @livinginwilmington2783
      @livinginwilmington2783  11 місяців тому

It is a concern. The potable water meets all epa guidelines currently, however several of the municipalities have opted to install reverse osmosis systems at the source to remove PFAS including H2Go which services the Leland area. Project was started several years ago when there was a GenX scare and should be online any day.

Thanks, Lexi and Jake! I'm planning to move to the area in a couple of months. Can you do a video of each community in Leland, along with prices and amenities, so I can get a better idea of what's available in Leland? Also, are the golf clubs open to new members, and what are their fees?

Hi. You mentioned southern and eastern beaches. Can you expand on that. Is one better than the other?

    • @livinginwilmington2783

one is not specifically better than the other when talking about Eastern Vs Southern Beaches. If you are looking to surf one might be having a better swell for surfing vs the other. added bonus on the southern beaches you can catch a sunrise and sunset.

I was born in wilmington and moved here in 1987. Leland used to be a quiet coastal country town. Now with the influx of yankees moving here that want to change things so its the same as where they came from its a totally different town. Its over populated and crowded and oh so sad.

It's always realtors that talk about areas and cities it seems - I want to hear from regular people more. They are the ones with opinions not based on sales of real estate.
Maybe the people making these videos should interview locals instead.

We have lived in Leland, Wilmington and hampstead with our family so we have a pretty good idea what it is to live in these areas day to day.

We moved to Leland in Nov 2020, we have two boys one is in HS and the other will be starting kindergarten next year. The people are nice here and yes trafffic can be a bit busy but for a growing town/city it’s expected. I live in a new development here behind Walmart. There are several new communities here that are really nice. Happy hunting

Leland and Wilmington both were nice places to live until all these people from other states moved here and started building up and cutting down all the trees and ruining the country living

Wilmington is for sure a small city now. but you dont have to get to far outside to be back in the country. Lots of options to the North, South and West for very country rural living still.

    Greetings Lexi and Jake,
Thank you, so much for doing this updated video. Jake it's Mari Beth from Dallas, I spoke to you approximately one week ago I know you talk to alot of people, but you were so kind and I shared I was in health care and relocating for a big pro in your Healthcare System with Novant you shared your Mother was a RN. I am pretty much still looking at area's and getting some great ideas still on Rentals you told me to keep your number if I had any questions but doing pretty well so far, as time gets closer I might follow up with you if I could reach out with your Mother in Medical that would be a fantastic asset. You both are so wonderful do do these videos. Could you please kindly if possible do a video around the Wilmington area ~~~ Downtown so we could get a feel of what it is like in the Downtown area ~~ restaurants ~~ seafood ~~ 5 Star 🌟 exquisite wine 🍷 bar's ~~ to meet locals in 💃 any jazz 🎺 bar's if any by the Beach 🏖 just a thought Jake when I come there I would have an idea if Wilmington offers this in the Downtown area, to start meeting beautiful people. It would be very much appreciated. Take Care and be safe for now. I cannot wait for this exciting new opportunity on my new journey to Wilmington.
    Warm Regards, Mari Beth
