I’m so happy for you. I have the new ScanNCut also. I love it! I use my own handwriting scanned into my machine to use on my cards & projects. I use the foil quill and get beautiful results. The auto blade is amazing too😊...plus it’s so quiet.
@@turtluv2000 I've never had a scan only mat - it's possible it is the same? Probably not knowing Brother! Come to think of it, the DX mats are longer, without checking, not sure if a shorter mat would work.
I did it! I went to a website (all brands I think), pulled up a pic of the mat and used a sharpie and white out to add the squares I needed and cover the circles I didn't need. Did my scan only mat as well as my 12x24 mat. I'm supper happy about this.
Hello! I have the SDX125. I bought a 12x24 brother scan and cut mat but, it doesn't have the registration marks on it so it loads but then says unrecognizable. Do you have a file that would help me or any helpful tips???? Thank you so much!

Thanks for your video. You said that the marks at the bottom make no sense, but I think the idea is that you can flip it if you have marks on both sides.

I will soldier on with my Silver Bullet until it bites the dust.However if it lets me down and I look for a replacement I will put this cutter on my list 😀. I am sure you will remember Pandora from the Thyme Graphics forum. A long while back she converted to a Brother and was also very pleased with it. Knowing Pandora she has probably updated to this model by now. What is so amazing is that one can buy a machine that seemingly can do anything a cardmaker desires at a reasonable price whereas our Silver Bullet, although an excellent cutter, was so expensive for a machine that did so much less. I had a look at stockists in the UK and for anyone who might be interested this model is available from Craftelier for £495.97 in the UK and is in stock. 3-5 Days for delivery according to customers but the website says 10-12 working days. Comes with UK plug. Standard shipping is free.
Hi Mary! Yes I remember Pandora. Still have my Platinum, it has some advantages over the Brother. Now if they put in a double head on the Brother, I think that would be the icing on the cake! What remains to be seen is if it stands up to the test of time. The SB is a real workhorse, can cope with business use, can this, I wonder?
You can use either a chunky Zig two way glue pen or dilute a little Tack It Over and Over. Both are repositionable glues that many use to re stick old mats.

Ah, sorry, I use a Mac and made the notes in Pages.....Please note that using non Brother mats could void your warranty, my advice is to only make your own when that has expired. The files for the SDX mats include a solid line, the width of the mat and 0.5cm away from the marks, to enable you to cut them from vinyl and transfer easily to the correct position. The 12 inch ones have been tested and work, the 24 inch ones, I believe will work but I have not tested. When choosing a base to apply them to, take care to get as similar to the original as you can in thickness and type. If the bottom will have paint on it, either remove with acetone ( not an easy job!) or use a slick tape over it, where it will travel under the wheels. Some ‘for sale’ signs are better than others and don’t have the matt paint. Enjoy your new mats!
I have the SDX after having a CM300 & CM900. Did you know that you can put a "Half cut" on, that will cut 0.5 mm, which gives a good cut for most standard card? I use it most of the time and it doesn;t mark the mat as much as using the default cut of 1mm. The other thing I noticed was that, when you took off your initial card piece you took it off the mat face upwards, which makes them curl slightly, whereas if you turn the mat over and peel the mat away from the cut, your cut piece stays much flatter. Re fonts, I use SCAL also, but if you use the offline version of Canvas Workspace all of the fonts on your computer will be available. Hope that helps and thank you very much for the codes for the mat. Mine is still under warranty too, but I will try it when its expired lol. xx

Yes, I'm aware of the half cut:) Re canvas workspace, I won't be using it other than to transfer files, (I did have a good look at the off line version too, there just isn't any point in it for me, I'm so used to all the features of SCAL that CW just irritates me but thanks for the info, someone reading the comments may find it useful.
I have had my sdx since Oct 18 and still in original blade and still use original mat (re stuck of course) I do have newer mats I use for really intricate work so as long as you look after them. I have never cut through ine and always use auto blade. I also use my old cm mats with it with a photocopy of the reg Mark's at the top only stuck in and they work really well
Glad to know! So far not had too much chance to play with it but so far the auto blade seems impressive. I have taken it down to minus 1 though, as it seemed to be cutting into the mat a bit more than it needed to.

Don't think so, but if you are making your own, just make a normal one and don't put anything other than the reg marks on it, keep it for scanning...
