CLASSIC FIRST: The first SNES Episode!
How to beat Super Star Wars for Super Nintendo - BRAVE Difficulty
Before Super Star Wars debuted in 1992, it seemed like the odds of making a good Star Wars game for a home console were 3,720 to 1!
In this video we'll see how Super Star Wars was developed, and why it was so awesome!
The Super Star Wars games were very popular, but they are some of the most difficult games on the SNES! In this video we will be doing a deep dive on the first game in the trilogy. We'll learn:
* How to get Luke's Blaster powered up early, and where to find ALL of the hidden blasters (in case you life a life and need to recharge)
* Secret locations for hidden 1-UPs, and even a trick to get 99 lives early in the game!
* Strategies for defeating the game's difficult bosses, and in one case, a trick to skip the boss entirely!
* Complete strategies for the game's long a difficult stages, like Escape From Mos Eisley!
* How to complete the trench run, and finally detonate the Death Star!
* Secret codes, including GOD MODE!
* Data for TONS of enemies and bosses! See what they looked like in the movies!

"You'll kill so many Tusken Raiders, you'd think you were playing as Anakin instead of Luke."
DAMN bro, change your name to Mustafar, cause that was one SICK BURN.
🤣 Hilarious!!
Just found this channel this week and now binge watching all his videos. These are extremely well done. This channel deserves to grow exponentially.
Thanks, Andrew! I hope it does!
@@UCanBeatVideoGames , by the way, this game is also available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, as well as possibly the PS5, Xbox Series X, and the PC.
Dude way better than any lets play. The Nemo one is gold.
I know, the first one I watched was the one on simons quest. I bought that game on day one, took my brother and I forever to beat it cause half the secrets only have vague clues.
This channel helped me beat Zelda 1 for NES. I'm 36 years old and finally beat it since I tried and gave up in the mid 90s.
That's awesome!! I love hearing that! Helping people actually beat games will always be the channel's #1 mission.
This game was my childhood if it wasn't so hard which it is highly difficult 2 most players this game can be a bit tricky at times take a note damages won the most hardest part in video game history even I could not be this as a kid and me going over 30 years old that's saying a lot right now
@@UCanBeatVideoGames I love the Jawas are pretty cute
it's a shame that the Jawas wants you to dead
Same. U Can Beat Video Games helped me to finally tame Ninja Gaiden... and I'm 36 as well.
A game from a time where beating a game was actually an achievement 👍
The SUPER Trilogy for SNES blew my mind as a pre-teen in the early 90s. LOVED THIS!
These games hold up pretty good. The graphics look great, and the sound is like right from the movie. Thanks for watching!
@@UCanBeatVideoGames 100% TRUE. GREAT CONTENT. Im a new subscriber!!!

@@UCanBeatVideoGames , if you can get an MSU-1 cartridge, like a SD2SNES, you can actually get the music done with actual musical scores if you put the Star Wars cartridges on top of that device.
Same. I was born in 80 and loved playing them
The Super Trilogy was one of the best SW games ever. Primitive by today’s standard, but totally awesome back in the day. 😉
SO awesome! It was like, "Finally, someone actually watched the movie before making this game!"
The final stage was so awesome
I lost it at "youll kill so many Tusken you'll think you're Anakin, not Luke"
Bro I was dead lmaoo
The opening segment to this video is fantastic.
Thanks man!!
I got this for Christmas '92, my exhausted parents had scoured the city and bought one of only several available in town - still have it 😍
This Channel is amazing, literally taking me through my entire Childhood. NES and SNES will always hold a special place in my gaming heart.
Thanks, Leo! Glad you're enjoying it!!
Couple of corrections from a SW nerd: Wolf guys from the Cantina stage are actually Defels, not Shistavanen, though both could be seen in the Cantina on the original version of New Hope. Shistavanen(called Lak Sivrak) is the one that talks with the worm like creature, Defel(called Arleil Schous) is the one with glowing red eyes finishing a drink. Both are wolf like alien species, though the Defel in some parts have bat like facial features too and the ability to blend into darkness unlike Shistavanen. Also Labria is the characters name, the race is called devaronian. Kalhar is based on a Mantellian Savrip species.
Sweet! Boy you do know your star wars, lol... I love the labria, I love how whenever you see them, they just hang there... like a labria looks like you could just play with one of them all day.
P.s
Couldn't resist the similarity in a certain female anatomical object, I had to try and come up with something, you can't dangle that labria word in my face and me not play around with it, I seen that and had to take it and run with it.
Need more content my guy! You are a real life legend and I love your content. You deserve wayyyyy more subscribers
The Star Wars trilogy games on the SNES were amazing! >_
They're really well done!
@@UCanBeatVideoGames would reaally like to see how you do empire strikes back
I rented this one when it came out in '92 and almost broke my controller because of how hard it was. I do remember beating it though, but that final trench run is savage.
I somehow had to black out this series (nes/snes/gb) because of the difficulty, in fact I only think I tried the snes series once and saw it on those hardest lists and dipped out. And I say this as a massive star wars fan (pre Disney, but mando is amazing). You make this look fun!
I just found your channel 4 weeks ago and have watched all your videos to date now. Love it!!! Every game you reviewed so far I have owned, beaten, or played at friends houses. All childhood memories. I'm 37 and born in 1984....I'm a huge Mega man and Star Wars fan especially so I really enjoyed those videos and this one as well. Keep em coming man. I support you 100%....great voice, great knowledge, and great content in these videos with history, tricks, codes, etc. Some tricks even I didn't know about in some of these videos. One of the best gaming channel's on UA-cam 😊
Oh my GAWD!! That blaster power up from the scorpions!! Too rad!🤘🎸🍻
You mean “Radscorpions” 😉😉
As someone who put in the time to gold medal all but Fondor in Rogue Squadron, words cannot express how happy I am to see a video open with that game. All the more so with your opening sentence.
Oddly I never thought of these games as remotely like Megaman, probably because I played a ton of Judge Dredd on SNES as a kid and that's what these make me think of. Speaking of which, I'd love to see a video on that as I never got past the first few levels lol.
Your walkthroughs are amazing! Love the side descriptions during the games and intros.
😁 Thank you!
These videos are really nice! I always appreciates LP’s with a more informative, trivia based commentary.
Thanks, Blaine! I've been a Star Wars nerd my whole life, so it was fun to bring that stuff into the video.
This brings back so many memories. Great video. I'm not a great gamer, but I actually beat this one. As for Super Empire Strikes back... first level.
38:42 The Kalhar Boss Monster was one of the chess pieces in the chess game called Dejarik in the movie when 3PO and R2 played chess against Chewie in the movie aboard millennium falcon and Han was explain to them that Wookiees sometimes pull out people's arms of their socket when they lose
yes please do the rest of super star wars. i only owned the first one and rented empire and jedi several times. love them cheat codes other customers wrote down in the back of the manual.
Thanks, Nick! I definitely plan to do the other super Star Wars games at some point, the other ones are even harder!
I love the Super Star Wars games...hopefully they bring them to the Switch Online....I always stick to the seeking missiles though...not as powerful as the Plasma of course but very helpful against bosses and flying enemies
These games were awesome! They still look and sound pretty good today.
@@UCanBeatVideoGames Exactly!! They’ve aged way better than A LOT of other star wars games. And they follow the events in the movies pretty good all things considered
8:05 I actually discovered that secret now six years old “killing those womp rats upgraded my blaster, what would happen, I kept killing scorpions”? So by the end of the level I upgraded my gun 3x
Good stuff! Amazed at just how much you know about all these games. Kinda like the Bob Villa of NES (and in this case SNES) gaming. Very ponderous, direct, demonstrative tutorials (happily without time lapse) that make these feats look a lot easier than they are. (I’ve struggled through this particular game many times.) Appreciate the work!
On a side note, I think it’s worth noting that the Jawas stole R2, making them the aggressors. Luke is merely trying to reclaim the little droid, as he has every right to do. Considering the Jawas are rushing at him whilst chucking thermal detonators, he is well within his rights as a sentient being to fight back. The death count is simply the amount of bloodthirsty Jawas that stand between Luke and his objective. :)
Same with the Raiders. Luke is just trying to get from point A to point B, and they are attacking him with murderous intent. What’s he supposed to do? If they were just chill and let him go on his merry way, then I could see taking umbrage with his violence. (Of course it would make for a rather lame video game and force a rebranding of the franchise to “Star Pacifists”.)
But let’s face it: the Jedi Mind Trick-messing with another person’s will and thoughts, and compelling them to comply-is about as Dark Side as you can get. Offing a few homicidal denizens pales in comparison. ;)
Pretty fun watching these, UCBVG. Love learning all the neat stuff I missed when I used to play these games. :)
Something incredibly funny about the Jawa tip on the right calls them intelligent with their own language and culture followed up immediately by “back up as you shoot them”
Love your vids!
Not kidding, I had this game for years as a kid and NEVER knew you could change the difficulty. Beat it all the time. Wow, mind blown!
I love your commentary during this walk through. All of the references and jokes are fantastic.
Man I remember how amazing the graphics were to me when I first played this in the 90's. I think these games still hold up well, even if they are tough.
LOL this is your best one so far. I am a new sub, really appreciate your sense of humor, attention to detail, and the way you make things easy. Good job man!
Anyone having trouble with mutant womprat, just use the blaster and jump constantly from far left. Using Saber got me shredded. Love your channel man I've finished many retro gems (finally) thanks to you. Lots without save scummin too!
Lol ..man I wish I had a friend like you when I was a kid playing SNES...will you do Robocop vs Terminator?
Thanks, Harry! I'll put Robocop vs Terminator on my list!

Another great video. This trilogy of games is rock hard, even on easy difficulty!
Oh man, nostalgia has been activated. I always lost after the sandcrawler boss due to losing all my lives. I didn't know you could change the difficulty.
Man I loved this game. Thanks for covering it. Commentary was great too
The 2nd Mos Eisley boss reminds me of the Albatross from Bionic Commando
Man... These games are awesome. Some of the best Side-Scrolling action you can find even today.
I fondly recall renting all 3 Super Star Wars games from the video store, LONG before I actually watched the movies or even knew they were based on them. I was actually fairly let down that the movies didn't play out exactly like the games lol.
Thanks for the video. I actually learned what a mouse droid was or what TIE stood for.
Found this channel a few days ago and you have most of my childhood fave games .love your a review and a guide.
You have some great content, keep it up dude
I just watched the Empire Super and it brings back many memories of playing so long ago. This one, Super Star Wars. My brother and I struggled to play for hours the first night. The following night my brother came home and ask right away. How did it take you to get this far? I was like an hour or so. A faction of what it took us switching back and forth to play. lmao. I love all three of these games. Thanks so much for recording these fantastic classics.
Hey UCBVG! I just stumbled across your channel today bc I was playing Actraiser. Your content is super helpful! Getting deeper into my 30s now and I am already playing these games on my raspberry pi-powered emulation console with rewind and save states, just so I can enjoy these games even with my game-triggered anger issues xD Your vids are the key to fully enjoy these games for me, since I am not really needing the challenge, but rather want to explore and enjoy all the content the retro library has to offer. Thanks my dude!
That's awesome!
Your guides are really golden. Super Star Wars is probably one of the very few SNES games I (really don't know how) managed to actually beat. It was so hard and I remember that I was really annoyed by the constant enemy popping on the levels, but the gameplay, the art and music were so damn cool.
As for the Tuskan raiders, that's interesting. I never doubted about their sentient capability, like to me they appeared as capable of using (crafting?) complex weapons, gears, and tactics which by all means are proofs of their sentience. I believed that they were just a very territorial, overly violent civilization, and let's not forget that they're raiders after all, which means that they set up ambushes for a living, raiding and looting people passing by their land (and they probably would get rid of them too, not in the friendly manner).
To me, the TV series misses the point of their existence in the universe, like they make them appear as a honorable culture in some way. But it's alright if Disney wants to go that way with these characters. I just wanted to share my pov about the Tuskan raiders since I haven't seen many fans contradict the vision proposed by Disney.
I could never defeat the cantina boss!! I remember renting this game from Video Vision multiple times and trying to defeat that guy. It so cool to watch you play these gems and show us the ropes. Great channel!! Keep up the great work because it is appreciated by many.
You are 30 years late to prevent my biggest childhood anger.
Ben: "These blast marks are far too accurate for Sand People. Only Imperial Storm Troopers have such accuracy"
Luke: "ah....right...about that..."
Great job. I never played any of the SSW trilogy games, but damn, these games rival some arcade games of the time. You are the binging with Babbish of my videogame life. Total pleasure!
Each game I watch I'm like "no way".
Battle Toads "no way". Castlevania "no....way!". Super Star Wars *my mouth literally went agape and remained until the end*
I'm here after seeing your Super Empire Strikes Back video and saying you were disappointed it didn't do well. I think it was the YT Aligorthium that did youdisservice, and now it has a ton of views. It's just as detailed and made with just as much love...this franchise is so awesome and I am happy someone went through an entire detailed review of this masterpiece franchise, though I shouldn't speak so soon!
I really love the intro to this, discussing the history of SW games and how this was the first really cool SW game that basically spawned the Lucas Arts SW games, especially considering the NES game was an incredibly poor interpretation at launch, whereas this game is timeless just like the movies.
The enemy data on the side is very nice too! I can see how that would have taken a lot of work.
Ty for showing us the secret areas for extras helped me alot in these super star wars video games tyvm😉
I played all 3 of these games. Were fun and had great music and sound effects.
This trilogy made up some of my favorite childhood games. I often considered making guides like this, but I got too interested in speed running them instead. Good work, and an excellent edit.
Thanks!! Which of the three games is your favorite to speed run?
Gotta go with Empire. Least rng dependent and best movement.
I love this game as a kid in the 90s!
Such a great channel. Keep up the fantastic work!!!
Love these videos.
Another great video! Keep up the good work!
I love these videos!
Tu canal es espectacular!! Saludos desde Ecuador! 👍🏻🔥
I owned (still do) Empire and RotJ growing up. I have Super Star Wars now but at the time I didn't own it, but it was one of like 15 SNES games my local video rental store had so my friends and I would rent it constantly. I recall beating the Cantina stage ONCE, no idea how I got through the Mos Eisley stage before that, but I think that's as far as I ever got. I also remember getting into a big argument with my best friend at the time because he came over and told me that he beat the game and I absolutely WOULD not believe him because of how insanely difficult the game was. Last time I booted up the game and played it, I couldn't get past the Sandcrawler. I think maybe it was just an issue with my old, worn out SNES controller, but every time I got to the platforming over the lava RIGHT before the boss spawns, I just wasn't able to jump over the gaps. Luke would always land in the lava and it would kill me instantly.
“What if I told you that everything you believe to be true was a lie? What if I told you that children were no longer born, but grown? What if I told you that the Matrix was all around you?”
Thanks Morpheus!
What if I told you that you got the wrong franchise, that said franchise was overrated, and that you did so many drugs that you are the reason why drug cartels exist worldwide?
thanks for the guide
Funny how "get to the right of the boss" is the strategy in like 75% of all NES/SNES game bosses.
🤣 Truth!
50:20 has another common NES/SNES boss trope.
At this point, the boss completely drops it's defenses, and even telegraphs its weak point with a bright red light.
Really enjoy your videos. I can tell you actually like video games as much as I do.
I just recently found this channel and I'm already loving it. It's awesome to see these games being shown off and beaten which seemed as possible as a kid. I just finished Zelda 2? I believe it was?
Thank you for your awesome guides!! The sarlacc was also featured in Knights of the Old Republic in a quest.
Good game too!
Your right the hover combat boss is tough but I was able to beat it ty for the tip it helped me alot
The Kubaz Always made me think of the SPY VS. SPY comics in MAD Magazine
im gunna get this game and watch this video just because i saw you doin a snes game video for the 1st time!!! hey btw kylo, renny says hi
This is amazing , found your Channel a few days ago and been watching ever since . I know this is a video from 6 months ago , but is there any chance too see the other 2 games in the Trilogy?
These games are infamously difficult. Loved em.
The other ones are are even harder. I have to get to those at some point!
The SNES Star Wars games were some of the best in the series. Difficult, but some of the best.
37:44 According to the Essential Guide to Characters book, that character actually joined the Rebellion and sacrificed his life to take out some TIE Fighters during the battle of Endor.
Gotta love your channel, i can definitely relate to the TMNT NES
on how you get the Scrolls to defeat the Foot Soldiers and the weird
alien bots that shoot laser, which in time with enough practice you can
easily beat the game on your first try. XD
luckily i beat the game in my second try after finding the game which was
not easy to find so as to live my childhood memories, who knew after so many
years i would've beaten the game in my second attempt. XD
but thanks for the video either way it is a much needed help.
A strategy book I've read used to say that those blue guys in the cantina are Greedo's cousin, Breedo.
But your theory makes much more sense.
I wonder if Breedo was really part of the Star Wars extended universe or if they just made that up? I got most of the enemy names straight from the game's instruction manual.
Thank you so much for making this video and for sharing all the cheats and secrets they helped me out alot. I haven't used any of the cheats yet but all those secrets for extra lives and power ups really helped. Love the 99 lives cause this is definitely one of the hardest games I've played. Hopefully you'll be making similar videos for Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return Of The Jedi in the future cause those two games are even harder than this one. Thank you again and may the force be with you always.
Fantastic video for fans of these games. Thank you
Thanks, Carl! I had fun making this one.
Great video and great channel! Despite all the tips, this game is still a tough one. Greets from Chile!
I really enjoyed your video man. You’re hilarious but very professional at the same time. This play through helped a lot. Great job man and your dog is super cute. Btw I see you do a lot of 8bit/16bit games, do you do any 3D platformers? Like from the PS1 or N64 era?
Wonderful! Thanks so much!!
Its always nice when someone requests a game, and I already covered it!
Thanks for watching!
I love this channel. Most of these games ill never play again but i at least get to see someone finish it soni know hoe the story ends.
Watched the Video even I do not play the game or ever did. Just like your videos and especially this one due to the Star Wars information.
The bit about Obi Wan disliking the Jawas had me dying.
Just got this for my SNES. Master
Your channel is awesome I just wish it was around 6 years ago when I was trying to beat this game. Awesome content nonetheless.
New subscriber! Awesome channel, gonna catch up real quick with your catalog.
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the channel!!
Lol your bit about Jawas crying out for revenge was too funny 😂
So, at 54:19, is Chewie telling Leia he's there to rescue her?? 🤣🤣🤣
Great video as always, glad to have found your channel.. had this game, could never beat it as a kid, even on easy!
This was the one gift that I opened up on Christmas Eve. Played the hell out of it and probably gave up after 6 stages or so. Think I kept it on Brave and died a lot.
Wow I'm so glad I found your channel. You helped me beat legacy of the wizard, let's see if you can help me pull off this impossible task.
That's awesome that you were able to finish Legacy of the Wizard! This one isn't as hard as the other two Star Wars games, especially if you max out your lives. The boss at the end of Escape from Mos Eisley is pretty mean, though. Good luck!
What if I told you that your channel was awesome and always has great content and videos
I beat all three of these when I was younger so it couldn't be that hard. Might have to replay them to see
I liked downgrading to the basic blaster in the sand crawler when I was a kid. The laser shots bounce off the walls.
Whoa, this is the first non-Nes game I've seen you do
LOL Darth Vader shark. 😂 Hash tag unlicensed.
Thanks for watching, A A! I hope the sound quality was better this time- I used better software. I have a new microphone that I'll be using for the next video which should really improve it.
ALSO - Thanks to your suggestion, I got Legacy of the Wizard, and have been playing it! It probably won't be the next episode, but it's definitely on the plan now. Lots of interesting material for the intro, and tons of secrets to uncover - great suggestion!
