I enjoyed the story this tried to tell along with the visuals by Tsui, good work voicing this! Also I did burst into laughter at the end with the cat, the amount of levity this has is unparalleled.
I am guessing the boy and the girl promise to be together forever but the girl dies. The boy begs to see her again so he is turned into what I can assume is a psychopomp or grim reaper-type character ushering souls to their death. He meets the girl again doing his soul ushering job. That’s how I interpreted it.
The english voicing is so-so, not capturing the essence of the characters. But the animation is fantastic I wish it was done in japanese with english subtitles
