Learn how to either use tape or pipe dope you don't need to use both. No it doesn't leak because you need an expansion tank. Why is it for hundreds of years they weren't needed 😡. As a plumber it just became the latest $ in a long list of all you need is . . .
@@kevinavillain4616 can’t decide if I like tape or dope better so I roll with both. Haha 🤣 own several houses in the area not one has expansion tank, Prv, earthquake staps, or a t and p popping off. I did not check the water pressure…. Will do the next time at the house.
@@kameljoe21 it’s hard to get everything in a short. Just to prevent rushing the system/ pipes with water. Adding pressure back to system slow to prevent unnecessary stain on joints, fixtures, pipes and seals.
Idk all the comments keep saying the home has high pressure I have 3 hwt I just had one fail on a brand new tank it's never happened in the 11 years I had the place on any other tank
@@internallyinteral we kept saying this, because it's a common thing the water heater will start leaking if you're pressure regulator is bad . High pressure is not good for the fixtures as well

You need expansion tank, and PRV or this will most likely happen again
Bingo.

You should just remove it and plug it you don't need that

If you are going to make some claim then tell us why. "always turn the valves on slowly"

I would see how munch pressure you have coming in if it’s over 80 psi you need to install a prv and an expansion tank.
I am going to check the next time Im at the property. Thanks you
Nice work.. I hate those plastic drain valves, have had to replace several in the past few weeks.
Thanks. The new heaters have brass valves. About time rheem!
Home has high pressure
Not necessarily. A tank on a closed system can build up enough pressure just from thermal expansion and can dribble out of the prv
Tha man with tha plan!
