That was not Spot's family. It was a different family that adopted him. You can tell because when Spot told his story with sticks, he indicated a mother, a father, and him. And then the mother and father died and were buried, leaving Spot an orphan. You can also tell by the tentative way the new family approached him to check him out. If they really were his family they would know him right away. Notice also that his new family had a different behavior. They tended to walk upright - something Spot never did. All these factors indicate it was a completely different family that adopted him.
I had a theory upon second rewatching that they werent buried as in a funeral, but buried by a landslide , like an avalanche, which would explain the white, dust covered hair. But then now watching the hair is white. So I asume they are somehow related and know each other a bit and took him in.

I believe the white hair was just to clearly indicate that they were all a blood related family, including the kids. So not Spot's actual original family.
I can see how choosing white made it slightly confusing, since that's normally associated with elderly people and not a natural hair color people are born with.
Man all these years I thought they were his actual family
Would kinda make the arguably most impactful moment in the movie, where he shows that his parents had both died, kinda weird if it turns out he was just wrong with no explanation lol
Yes! i did notice that In the movie I was gonna say it But i didnt Have An Tablet yet!
What I love about the Rex’s is the fact they’re like country folk, they run like they’re riding horses, they have the accents, they own and care for a herd and life life on the move. Plus they’re super duper friendly which adds the message of “don’t judge a book by its cover” cause they’re certainly the last kind of dinosaur you’d expect to be friendly, especially towards two bite size snacks
I thought this film was pretty well done. This film had really good heart and the relationship between Arlo and Spot feels real. Spot doesn't say anything throughout the entire movie but we can still understand his emotions through his expressions. This is an example of great visual storytelling. The animation is also brilliant and some of the backgrounds look photorealistic. I think this is one of Pixar’s underrated films.
Definitely
It has some gripes, but in my opinion, 7/10 decent movie
I love this Movie! 8/10! The shading or the sun on the start is shining fr!
Yeah. Who cares about the critics that it SSOO much!
I love that part at the end where his mom mistakes Arlo for his father. because you can see his confidence and how he walks tall just like Henry in the beginning. I think this is a slept on movie and REALLY was a "look what we can do" making the environment HYPER realistic vs the stylized dinosaurs. That's probably why they didn't make it like 2000's Dinosaur. All the mammals are referred to as 'critters', which i thought was cool.
Hey Nick, I'm glad you're back. I'm sorry you've been through so much, and I hope everything gets back to normal in your life soon. As for this movie, it's not quite as bad as people say, it definitely has it's great moments. I like how the herbivorous dinosaurs are farmers, and the non-evil carnivores are shepards. Henry's death was really impactful, I love Butch, (or any character voiced by Sam Elliot for that matter,) the environments and music are both absolutely beautiful, and that scene where Arlo and Spot tell each other what happened to their families without words is one of my absolute favorite Pixar emotional moments.
I legit cried at that wordless explanation scene. It's so beautiful.
The scene where Arlo and Spot go their separate ways still breaks my heart.
Also I loved Sam Elliott as the father t Rex. He was perfect as him.
Me too. Because, he’s into western movies.
When I saw The Good Dinosaur the first time, I got emotional. This Pixar film was pretty interesting, seeing how they lived their lives like being farmers, protecting their crops from invaders, and all that jazz. Haven’t seen this film in a while but from what I remember, it’s pretty wholesome.
Fun fact:Arlo’s father is Jeffery Wright,a.k.a. Beatee from The Hunger Games, and The Watcher from Marvel Studios “What If…?!”.
Gotta admit, when I first saw this movie, and saw Spot, I immediately thought of him as Baby Tarzan to be honest.
Whenever Arlo’s dad says “you’re me and more.” I keep getting so emotional and connected with that part, because it even reflects on ourselves. We are so much more than what we are, we all just have to believe that we can be.
Such great messages Disney keeps giving us, it’s just amazing!
"I thought he willed himself out."
Arlo is given nothing. The most lost and alone kid Disney has ever done.
I move my head also when the Pixar lamp jumps on the I yep we always be doing that don’t we? 😅
I'm so glad you're okay! We missed you!
This movie gets me every single time, and story about a father/child relationship has a very special place in my heart since I lost my dad when I was a kid. They make me feel closer to him 💚
I remember seeing this movie in the cinema when it came out. I was there with my mom and I remember us liking it a lot. I do understand how the character designs can be off putting and not everyone's cup of tea, but to me, it wasn't an issue at all. My favorite part was the realistic animation of the nature and the music though, not to mention the beautiful story. It's so underrated and deserves more recognition.
It's always great to see you Nick!!
Cool that you're watching what is arguably Pixar's most underrated film
I’m glad you are doing well. Don’t worry your not alone. We all go through rough times. I love this movie. It’s the most heartwarming film and also the score is fantastic. Listen to it and it will relax you. Also Spot was adopted by a family from the mountains since they have different hair color and clothing. Look closely Spot has leaves but the family has fur.
Aw
this is pixars most unique film in my opinion besides the newer turning red, which is a breath of fresh air, but otherwise I love how the good dinosaur has a very special atmosphere and is just because of less talking also so much calmer and just focuses on the show dont tell moments and the music and the ending is actually one of my favorite parts of the movies, because it is just so silent - i think spots story was done perfectly, the meeting with the new people and family has enough time to breathe and it's all by facial expressions and the music and while I think there could be more to arlos reuniting with his family, i actually like that there is no talking because it allows you to stay in the zone of the music just telling you the story and keep the special atmosphere for the whole ending - that makes it very special for me
love that you still enjoyed the movie and great that the movie has finally some reactors who watch it - thank you! and the score is absolutely amazing, love to see you vibing to it the whole time :D
I got pretty emotional when I saw this in the movie theater. I really enjoyed it!
Yeah I got very emotional with the ending of this movie to be honest it was a good movie I saw this movie with my dad in the theaters
I hadn’t been interested in seeing this when it initially came out, but when I did eventually get around to it, I was pleasantly surprised. One thing Pixar knows how to do is make me cry with the emotional parts in their movies! Even if the rest of the story isn’t the best, guaranteed I will always cry 😭🤣
this may not have been one of Pixar's best movies but I did still enjoy it
I cannot tell you how excited and relieved I was to see your IG post about this movie!! I love your content and you as a person. I had a feeling your absence had to do with Puss in Boots and/or your mental health, but I'm so happy to hear that you're okay and getting back to it!💖💗👍
Sorry you're going through so much Nick. Hope you feel better soon, man.
Dude I was literally just now searching for somebody reacting to this, well that’s convenient lol 😂

Wait he hearted me YES!! 🎉
We’re happy to have u back & I’m so glad to hear that ur doing better Nick and u definitely don’t have to talk about it if ur not feeling up to it. The important thing is that ur fine🙏🏻❤️and I can’t wait to watch ur reaction to this movie.
Thanks for understanding Camila!!
I think this reaction is the first time I’ve connected to this film. I still find the plot and character designs to be cookie cutter and a bit childish, but the relationship between the two leads is genuinely sweet and the background animation is STUNNING. So glad to see you back, thoughts and prayers for everything going on in your life!
20:28 Love the role reversal 😂🦕
Not exactly a movie I love, but still a great story, full of heartfelt moments, even if similar ones have been done before. The T-Rex family is awesome! 😄
It’s good to see you back again, Nick, it’s also my birthday month and it’s right around the corner 😁
I was one of the people here on UA-cam who kept recommending this movie to you! I knew you'd love the backgrounds , score and story despite the character designs being wonky! The meteor in the beginning was the one that was supposed to take out the dinosaurs, but in this alternate universe, it misses and dinos go on to be the dominant species with humans evolving into the "animals". That's why Spot can't talk. He basically is a dog.
Or possibly more accurately a wolf.
I'm glad you're better now, only share things when you're ready for it. We'll be here regardless for you!
Just one thing Nick. The reason that Arlo was born in a small size for his egg is that when his brother hit the egg with a stick, it made a crack. So Arlo is a premature baby. If his brother hadn't done that, surely Arlo would be even bigger than his brother.
Or die from suffocation because he couldn't hatch from the egg and breath
That was my thought too
Spots parents died. He's adopted by the other family who has kids. Once I think about it, it's transracial adoption. I never really payed attention to that, but I see it now.
hey nick its nice to see you again im sorry if things been rough i hope things are going better
I really enjoyed the story and the characters in this film! Loved the reaction Nick and sorry to hear a lot has been happening in your life but glad to see you're back!
Welcome back, so glad to see you react to this, it’s one of my favorites! The breath-taking scenery alone makes the trip worth it, but I love everything about this movie for the most part. 😊
Hope all is better with you and stays that way!
Thanks so much!!
It’s so good to see you, Nick!
I'm glad you're doing okay. Is puss in boots coming back anytime soon and Will be patient for that one. Just take all the time you need. Nick
Appreciate you & your channel Nick! 🦕
Welcome back!!!!!
Though it’s not by any means my favorite Pixar movie, the animation is stellar and gets overlooked A LOT! Glad you’re back Nick, and never feel bad for taking time you need! ❤
I missed watching your reaction man! Glad to see you’re back! ☺️
I’m just happy to see you back, Nick. I hope that you continue to be mentally healthy. You don’t have to worry about losing me as an audience member. You’re honestly one of, if not my favorite, reaction channels/channels period.
Btw, are you and Cody continuing your SpongeBob reactions?
I loved the animation!! Its visually stunning. But the story was so so for me
I thought the dinosaurs were a little too cartoonish, but the world itself was beautiful. But the baddie was quite creepy.
Glad to know you’re doing better Nick. I hope things get better. No worries, take your time with UA-cam, we will understand❤️
Hey Nick! Love your reaction as always and so glad you're back ❤️ please can you watch Goodnight Mr Tom? It's a very emotional movie but with plenty of feel good moments. I think you'll like it. It's an older movie set in England during the war about an evacuee.
Miss seeing your reactions and notice you haven’t put any lately. So happy to see you again and I love this movie. It’s an underrated masterpiece.😄
Glad you recovered and I hope all is well with all you’re going through.
This movie amazes me by its scenery, te backgrounds, the clouds, the nature. Thats what i love the most about it.
I Remember Seeing This Movie In The Theaters Back In November 2015 It Was a Great Movie And One Of The Best Dinosuar Movies I See
this movie was about as exciting as watching an empty corner slowly filling up with dust
This is very incredible, because this movie tells the story of a beautifull friendship between a dinosaur and a human. And that is what makes this movie very special.
The dinosaur that has all those birds on his head... he's an easter egg from "Inside Out"
I love this film! ❤🦕
Yo anyone that you’ve “lost” during your absence wasn’t really a “loss” man, we the real ones and weve been here waiting patiently for you to come back 😂
EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! HERE FOR IT! HOWS IT POPPIN NICKY?! I hope you're well 🥺❤
Great story about the dinosaur and the human boy. Helping each other to survive their time
I knew you would enjoy it! That's more sn enough. I get the side characters, I agree! This movie is good, if not pretty good.
Idk how his dad thought he could kill a critter. Boy couldn't even feed the chickens.
I relate a lot to Arlo as he is afraid of swimming and I can't swim very well but he helped me to be confident in myself
I honestly don't get why many people think this movie is so mediocre, or maybe I just love how rough the environment is compared to a lot of other animated movies. The difference between a kid learning how to survive and a kid who can do so with ease is portrayed very well and it's a good message with that not only doesn't everything come easily or quickly just because that's what you want, but that, with enough experience, you can eventually achieve it yourself. This movie personally helped me a bunch when I was younger
If you need to take a break Nick that’s fine
Just to say mostly I’ll watch your reactions from movies that I’ve already watch (that’s a rule I have with me, myself and I)
But I do enjoy hearing your point of view of these movies (especially when my brother and dad don’t show much emotion during movies
So just keep doing what your doing but don’t overwork yourself, take a breather when you need it
thy chose to make all dinos look more comic like so its not to bad wehn they talk and be more like humans.
great have you back :)
I wonder where you went, glad you are back! *hug*
I love 💕 this movie, when I first saw at the theaters with my family.
I'm so happy your back life is always throwing challenges at us so I'm not surprised when you said why you were away I hope next is Despicable Me 3 amazing video as always I can't wait for the next one
U know this reminds me of my home in a farm in a middle of nowhere, so I keep watching this movie so it reminds me of home
Again Nick, another amazing video.
Man, I watched this movie as a child and of course it was beautiful but now is...way more sad and incredible
HELLO, SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!
So good to hear from you as well Shaine!!
Honestly, well I do miss your uploads, I'm just glad that you're okay.
You should react to "Darby O' Gill and the Little People" during the month of March on St. Patrick's Day if you can. It would make a perfect St. Patrick's Day move. But it would still be a fun movie to react to in the month of March even if you can't react to on the holiday itself. 😄
Yes! I love that movie!
I USED TO DO THE FIRE FLYS MOMENT W MY DAD THEN MY WHOLE FAMILY But when his brother died4 years ago he was never the same and we stopeddoin it and moved
It really sucks that puss in boots: TLW was taken down bc it was doing so well when it comes to views, it would’ve been a hit on the channel
Omg yessssssssss finally you are back it’s been awhile i have see that movie I didn’t cry please watch the tigger movie next please
This is a literal forgotten film, people should start remembering this movie (including Bolt)
I’m not sure you understood. The human kid isn’t feral because he was raised in the wild or raised by dinosaurs. The asteroid never hit so the dinos were never wiped out. Because they were never wiped out mammals never got their chance to take over the world. The humans still have some early intelligence but they aren’t the dominant life form, dinos evolved to be the dominant life instead.
I love Pixar's The Good Dinosaur (2015) so much.
I don't care what people think about this movie, it's just that movie is good and so very emotional same thing as Pixar's Inside Out.
No offense.
This is one of my favourite Pixar movies in spite of its flaws.
I wish there was a live action version of this movie!
The characters would look more accurate.
Arlo and his family would be alamosaurus instead of apatosaurus!
Thunderclap and his gang would be quetzacoaltlus instead of nyctosaurus and ludodactylus!
The raptor pack would be dakotaraptor!
And Woodbush would be triceratops instead of styracosaurus!
Once again Nick, you with a clean-shaven face equals me going 😍🥰😍🥰😍 Love it! Think you should keep it 😉
Well considering your subscriber count is still steadily going upward, I can't imagine you lost a _big_ chunk of your audience. Even if you _did_ lose some people because of your absence, then clearly you still gained more people than you lost.
This movie was basically a dumpster fire at the studio, and didn't fare much better at the theaters: It was abandoned halfway, drastically rewritten, and then rush-animated within a year. In the original script, dinos have group farm communities (tri-tops seed, ankylos thresh, etc.), Arlo is a grown-up dreamer dino who wants to study the bugs instead, Spot is a would-be mighty-hunter who wants to kill the bugs, and when they're swept away, Arlo shows him that Bugs Are Beautiful Too. Hence the firefly scene, that..really doesn't make any sense in the new version.
I would still watch you if you update every week, month or even once a year, I'm glad to hear your okay
Very underrated film :D
Interesting how the meteor didn't get to kill the dinosaurs but mother nature will be the cause of their extinction
+101 dalmatians two is really good well the classic not just 100 and 2 that’s another good one
Dinosaurs probably look like this because of toys or something
13:43 😢😢😢😢
Definitely a very pretty movie
Yeah I totally get it Plus I still think you should use some of my ideas for The next movie reaction other than honey I blew up the kid just because I haven’t seen that one in a long time as well Plus this one will make you cry I know it did for me plus it has been a long time since I have seen this one too
While I do agree with people that this is far from one of Pixar's best, I still thought it was good. Though I can't be the only one who saw the father's death and immediately thought of Mufasa's death just with a flood instead of stampeding animals. I'll admit I do feel like they didn't take full advantage of the concept of the meteor missing the Earth and allowing the dinosaurs to live. Yeah, we see a bit of innovation, but not much.
First ¿You can react to underdogs
2015?
Thanks Nick.
So can you still do The Owl House?
I liked this movie hope you like it
can you please watch the movie trolls? when I watched it. the movie was amazing 🤩 plus it is a musical!
It is a pretty good movie honestly. It’s not perfect, but it’s not a horrible one.
Plus Lady and the tramp two I think you should see as well and also another one but I can’t think of the name plus I think they made an ice age 5 I’m not sure Plus honey we shrunk ourselves that’s another good one unless I didn’t mention that one either that’s another good one
It's great to see you again, Nick, but we understand your personal struggles, take your time. And it's pretty unfair they blocked your Puss in Boots 2 reaction, especially considering your other Shrek reactions, including the first Puss in Boots movie, are still avaliable to see. I am kinda worried if you decide to react to The Penguins of Madagascar movie and the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 4, considering Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda are also DreamWorks, just like Shrek, The Bad Guys and Home. Actually, not just DreamWorks, but Universal in general, even though they haven't blocked any of your Illumination reactions so far, they are known for being way too harsh on copyright, which is why I am a bit concerned when you react to Despicable Me 3, Minions 2 and the other Illumination movies, like The Secret Life of Pets movies and the upcoming Super Mario Brothers Movies.
You know universal is planning to make a live action “How To Train Your Dragon”movie, right.?
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan Yes, I know. Not very fond of the idea, but I can forgive it if they cast Vincent Martella, Greg from EveryBody Hates Chris, as Hiccup. I always thought they looked a lot alike.
Hello Nick, a movie that I would highly recommend that you see is my life is beautiful, it is a very good movie
I missed you kiddo
