I purchased the curl bar version and I have to say it's great. Little tedious getting used to fitting the dumbbells in but once it's on it's on. Great workout.
Looks like a great product. My issue, however, is that when Jayflex did move "up" from the Cross Grips to the Ryze Ups, the quality went down and used more plastic rather than less, not up in quality with a product with the material of the Cross Grips. So the track record here in improving upon an original idea isn't very encouraging.
@@GamerBody Let's hope so. Though, hopefully your inevitable year/2 year usage update review will be glowingly positive. Not saying anyone should wait that long before getting it. I think a 2 year warranty for this item at $139 is fair enough.
I have seen them come up before in ads so I may look into them. I feel like they may be a bit pointless with my other exercises, but can't knock it too much until I try it :)
If it had an an extension to the bar... Not much, but just enough that my large 90 Pound dumbbells are not smashing my arms when doing bench press that would be nice... Then made out of metal and I'd be sold... Honestly I'm think about making my own at home with just a metal rods and some nuts at the ends to interface with a hinge mechanism that would be threaded.
I'm a bit curious as to why you haven't bought say a half rack. With that you'd have a reliable pull up bar, potentially spotter arms and such. I recently got one and I stopped going to the local gym cause I could hang my gym rings from it. Planning on possibly getting a barbell and weight plates in the future. Keep up the awesome review work and content 😊💪🔥
Main reason is I don't have the space. I'm not going to ever use my garage as it gets way too hot in the Summer. Also, I don't need it. I'm happy with my results with the very minimal equipment and space it takes up :)
I’d have liked to see how you get into a bench press or squat. If I’m squatting with 70 or 80 lb dumbbells, seems like I have to overhead press that to start , and then how do I unwind that when I’m done with my set and tired??
This is actually one of the main reasons I don't do squats with it. You would have to "clean and press" it into position for a back/front squat. Instead, I just hold the dumbbells themselves for those exercises. It work's well for RDLs though.
Is this really better than a run of the mill spin lock bar? I can see this if you don’t have any plates and just fixed dumbbells. I have 110 pounds of plates. Plenty for me right now. Regular EZ bar off Amazon is 40 bucks.
It is to keep constant tension on the target muscle group. If you lift fast, momentum will assist the dumbbell taking some of the tension off the muscles until you "catch" it when it slows down. You don't have to go super slow, I just say do a speed you can control to stay in good form.
Would you please be able to tell me how thick (not estimated but measured) the open Jayfley Hyperbell clamp is? Nowhere could I find this information and given that I have the Powerblock Sport 24 - which do not have the to barrels for the 2 cylindrical extra weights in the handle, if thin enough (34mm max) the open clamp would easily slip between handle and the single stabilizer plate at the bottom of the grip module. If anyone knows the thickness of the opened clamp, that would be great!
The dumbbells are really tight in the clamps as they barely fit. I have to squeeze them pretty hard to get them locked, but once set, they are great. Balance overall is good as long as you use the same weight on both ends.
I don't see how it would work as the clamp on the end wouldn't fit in the square openings. I don't have the powerblocks to test, but from how you set it up, I'd say no.
Hi gameboy! I was gonna get this hyperbell bar but then i also found there is ez curlbar from jayflex as well. Would you recommend between two? Thanks!
I haven't tried the EZ curl bar yet so I can't provide a comparison...should be good for more isolation exercises, but again, can't really compare yet.

@@GamerBody Morning Workouts my guy. 😀 I just seems those dumbelss will be limited to do any heavy duty training like heavy squats, deadlifts, and power cleans.
That's perfectly fine. I have no desire to do heavy for any of those exercises.
