    Love this! I just decided to incorporate my project planning into my bullet journal, and this is a great start for me! Thanks

    This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I was also really inspired by Plant Based Bride’s sewing journal, and I’m so excited to use this as a jumping off point for a knitting/crochet journal! I love those abbreviations pages and might also include a little reminder of how to do techniques I have to do often, like the Kitchener stitch or something. Thank you for this!

      Isn’t that video amazing?? So excited for you to make your own version! That’s a really great idea to add techniques to your journal. I often forget and must look up how to do them, no matter if I use them all the time or not haha

    This is a really helpful example of a knitting/crocheting journal. I've been looking for ideas of what I could do, in order to organise my life and make things a little bit easier to understand when working on projects.

    I loved your video. My year runs more towards a school year than a calendar year. I think it's because I work at a university and, since my life has always been about school (my career, my kids' school career, and working at university for 25 years) it continues to be. I especially like the foot measurements in your journal as I make a lot of socks.

    • @SewHomey
      @SewHomey  2 роки тому +1

      That makes total sense! You can tailor this journal to fit your calendar. The foot measurement was a must! I refer to it all the time, so it’s handy to have in one spot, because I too make a lot of socks!

    Great video. I'm impressed! The first part of the journal: I need to find either a printable source or find something that's already printed because my handwriting would be unreadable. The second part of the journal: I wish I had thought of this awhile back. I've lost a lot of info regarding hook size and yarn brand, fiber content, care instructions, and amount used for my projects. I would add a piece of the yarn to the page just to give myself another visual...along with a photo. I like to think I COULD be organized. I hope I can do it!

    • @SewHomey
      @SewHomey  2 роки тому +1

      That’s something I didn’t think about… printables! All the info is from the craft yarn council, it wouldn’t be too difficult to create something…. I could compile that if you’re interested. Let me know your thoughts.
      I understand that, I’ve lost plenty of info like that myself. Adding the yarn is a good idea, because it can often look different in photos vs real life. Thanks for the ideas!
      I believe in you! Create a system that works for you!!

    Thanks for this video, I love it, but I would just print out all the Craft Council info and tape it into the book. 😅 I bought a Tul system and will set it up, but right now I’m watching videos and knitting. I’ll print the abbreviations from my Vogue knitting book. Great idea about the measurements. Your drawings are great, but then I have trouble drawing stick figures.

    ooh, I love this idea! I could maybe also add a yarn inventory, although that could get scary lol

    • @SewHomey
      @SewHomey  Рік тому

      That’s a good idea! I thought about adding one to mine, but ultimately didn’t for that same reason. How much space should I leave for all the yarn I know I’m going to buy?!

    • @steffwalker8983
      @steffwalker8983 Рік тому

      @@SewHomey excellent point! I think if I do this, I would start from the back of the journal and work my way forward with my inventory? But not include the prices, ever, just in case it fell into the wrong hands, lmao!!!

    Great video! I use a Designworks Ink Standard Issue No. 3 journal to track my projects and project notes. I love these journals because they have a header that allows for the start/end date of a project to be tracked, a stencil and pocket, pen holder, and bookmarks (3).

    Thanks for this video! This is a great! This is what I need to do. I'm thinking I will include a inches to cm (cm to inches) chart. I think 🤔 in inches and the pattern is written in cm. It would be great to have a chart handy. I do have a question? How do you store/organize your written and/or electronic patterns? I tend to print my pattern for use to be able to make notes on them. Sometimes I want to keep my notes and pattern for future use. Thanks for getting the creative juices flowing 😊

    • @SewHomey
      @SewHomey  2 роки тому

      Ohh that’s a good idea! Didn’t think of that. Great for converting when you need it.
      To answer your question, as of right now, I’m pretty disorganized when it comes to that. I’m trying to come up with a system that works for me because I like to keep physical copies and digital copies. I’ll print the pattern and highlight and make notes as I go. Then each pattern is placed into a protective sheet and kept in a binder. But I also like to do the same thing digitally on my tablet. But those files are all over lol. That probably doesn’t answer your question well. But maybe I can do a video on that in the future when I have a more organized system!
      So happy to hear your creative juices are flowing. Really hope you make a journal for yourself!

    Do you put all the patterns you want to make in it or just the ones you think of making more times then just once? Or do you only put the ones in you already made and loved? Wanting to make my own journal but wouldn’t want a book full of patterns I won’t use

    • @SewHomey
      @SewHomey  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thanks so much for the questions. I use mine more as a knitting diary. I log all of the projects that I am making. Ultimately it will have projects that I love and also ones that I don't. But that's because I put them in as I start them. I don't mind so much because when I look back, I can remember the projects that I made. However, maybe adding a rating system or marking the patterns that I use again and again wouldn't be a bad idea... hope this helps.
