Hey Muffin 101485! Thanks for watching & be sure to subscribe if you haven't done so already! Oil changes are pretty easy. You don't save a lot of money by doing it yourself, but you do have peace of mind that it was done properly with good quality oil and a good quality oil filter! Thanks for the support and let me know how the job goes for you!
I appreciate knowing how to deal with that different oil filter - no wonder I couldn't find any sign of a filter under the car! Good info on resetting the Oil Life monitor too. Thanks.
Excellent tutorial! Simple, clear, easy to understand directions, clear video images! Thanks for making an easy to follow guide on changing the oil and filter!
That was an amazing video you did i have to change my oil fliter i couldn't find it and i watch your video and it was really helpful so now i going to change my oil and thanks brother for the video i like your video
Lol! You’re correct, but in order to keep these video short and sweet, I usually don’t include the obvious, like how to remove a tire or how to jack up a car. If they aren’t handy enough to handle that, they really shouldn’t be attempting any of these repairs.
I had a great time my oil bolt was on there so tight and it was stripped so I had to buy easy outs to even change my oil. And on top of that I couldn’t even get my filter off because it’s on there too tight as well.
Changing my oil as we speak, when adding the new filter does it need to like snap in? I have it on but I can easily pull it off is that just how it goes in or should it not be wobbly?
I’ve never used any Lucas oil additive. If you’re using a good quality full synthetic oil, you should be fine. I would look up the reviews of whatever additive you have.
Damn and I pay to get that done 😭 looks like something I can do myself damn it. Let me tell you that’s easier than replacing the headlight on the 2012 Malibu lol & I’ve replaced my headlights before
Ill b doin mine tomorrow...U make it look so easy...Great job!!!

Make sure you tell them about the jackstand.. Many of us are too dumb to remember

That happens sometimes. If the last person to do the oil change got carried away, it makes it tough for the next guy.
I really like how you get right to the point... And you're spot on.Thank you for your knowledge and your help

I’m not sure if it “snaps” but it should seat at the bottom. I think mine did wobble a bit.
Wow, very easy, thanks

Excellent well done

Hey I got that Lucas oil stuff do u think I should put it in with the new oil I’m about to change with the filter or should I just change the oil

Where can you buy that Oil filter housing cap socket?
Amazon: amzn.to/3hDFQxH
Walmart has them too.
doesnt matter which is first right? removing recycled oil and oil filter
It doesn’t matter. I just usually start with draining the oil first. It’s really up to you.
Do you not need a crush washer for the drain plug?
I’ve never used one. I reused the drain plug on this Malibu and it did not have a crush washer.
Hi I was noticing that my car burns gas fast. I know I probably need to change the gas filter
I would check the air filter. A dirty air filter can cause poor gas mileage.
What is the oil filter number
0:24 XG9018
Damn and I pay to get that done 😭 looks like something I can do myself damn it. Let me tell you that’s easier than replacing the headlight on the 2012 Malibu lol & I’ve replaced my headlights before
Agreed! I did the headlight bulb 3 times on that Malibu!
What’s the torque spec for the drain plug?
I’m not 100% sure, but I’ve read in the forums that it’s 18 ft lbs.

Good to know about wrench 😂 AutoZone here I come for refund lol
😂 It wouldn’t hurt to keep the tool.
