    Great explanation of the uterus, and the way it builds up and sheds the lining every month and how it is due to the estrogen and progesterone. I learned about glandular cells many years ago in my anatomy class, but never knew how they stacked up in the uterus and why, very informative. Thank you Barbie. It was a great lesson.

    I will eat the endromeatreiom of an avocado no problem. Thank you for explaining all this. I now understand the uterine cancer in my family might not even be related to menopause. My mom and grandma were in their 40's and hadn't yet noticed the process taking place. I understand it can be different for everyone. Thank you.

    Sadly, my TAH BSO discovered, at 50 and not menopausal, my uterus had a polyp with stage 1a cancer growing. I also HAVE PCOS. Needless to say, it's sitting on a shelf in the pathology lab, er, unless it's been disposed up....

    I am interested to know if you rate testosterone replacement and your thoughts on its possible benefits to urogenital health and muscle strength. I am finding UK menopause dr's are more convinced then the dr's in the US. Perhaps this is to do with the use of pellets in the US? Of you have time to answer I would be very grateful.

      This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.

    I think I remember in one of your early videos you saying that if a woman has had an endometrial ablation she doesn’t need progesterone (can’t remember which video). I still have my uterus, but had an ablation. However, they didn’t quite get all of it, and I still had faint brownish spotting during my periods until I wasn’t having them anymore. I’m now 56 and just started HRT within the last couple of months. Can’t find out if progesterone is necessary for me or not.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 роки тому +2

      if your ablation was incomplete, you still have to take progesterone (unfortunately).

    Is 1 pump of Oestrogel 0.06% gel enough to prevent the 3 diseases?…there are 750 micrograms of estradial per pump. I’m not sure if the chart in your previous video is mg milligrams or micrograms? Thanks for all your fabulous information

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      2 pumps of your gel is the absolute LOWEST dosage that can possibly prevent the 3 diseases.

    Dr. Barbie, is a yearly Pap smear necessary if the cervix and uterus have been removed, and the patient is no longer in menopause? I value your opinion. Thank you!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 роки тому

      I believe in peace of mind. There are different "guidelines" on this.
      A Pap smear is but a "screening test." That means it’s cheap, easy, and serves the purpose of flagging who needs more testing.
      So the question is this: How well can you see the top of your vagina? Not at all? Well, then, that leads to the next two questions:
      (1) How often would you like your doctor to simply look at it, which entails a simple pelvic exam to look at it with the naked eye.
      (2) How often would you like your doctor to take a sample of cells from your vagina (via a pap smear) to look at under the microscope.
      The guidelines on pap frequency have changed over the years. They used to be done every year. Now some guidelines recommend them every three years. This is due to economics and nothing more. Remember, no set of guidelines cares a fig about you personally.
      The very reason cervical cancer is so rare these days is because of pap smears detecting pre-cancers that are treated long before cervical cancer develops. But, the current rarity of full-blown cancer has made guideline-makers more cavalier about pap frequency. Pap smears can also detect early vaginal cancers.
      The fact is that pre-cancers detected by pap smears is still very common.
      So, you have to ask yourself if you like the idea of increasing the interval between paps. Do whatever gives you peace of mind. If you prefer annual paps, get them annually. If you prefer paps at some other interval, get them less frequently. And if you do not have your cervix and want to forfeit them forever, you can.

      If you still have your uterus, you must take progesterone to prevent uterine cancer.
      I presented this in the earliest videos. If you're not watching them in order, you are sabotaging your entire menopause education.
      So, if you want a real education, consider one of the following:
      (1) Get my book
      (2) Watch the webinars in order
      (3) Watch the DVD entitled Your Menopause Your Way.
      They all give you the complete education without the fluff of the videos. You can get any of these from my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME.
      And if you want the fastest track, schedule a consultation with me, and you'll get the education along with tailoring of it specifically to YOU. You can schedule a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME.

      Individually, they can be pricey. I recommend looking for packages that contain several. I buy bags of 6 avocados for $3.99 at Trader Joe’s! Once ripe, you can store them in the fridge where they’ll last a good week or longer. I love avocados and they’re so nutritious!
