Very smart guy. Most of these issues apply to India as well. It goes to show that our issues are more at basic levels than our govts would have us believe.
But still , the Jihadi mindset from top to bottom in pakistan doesn't help.
Appreciate the effort Ali Sir by coming up with relatable examples and speaking to masses. He could have easily spoken is economic jargons and it all would have went bouncer .
There are tens of countries with corruption more than Pakistan but are developing and increasing their living standard at a rapid rate. Bangladesh, Philippines, Nigeria, etc.
Thankfully, a smart guy who is not discussing things superficially. Plzz invite him again.
I really enjoyed the conversation, he gave simple examples that helped me understand his points well.
As always great discourse ! Thanks Shehzad for bringing it up .
He is so right! Kha kitna raha hai or laga kitna raha hai!
Guests camera quality is billion times better than host
Usually its other way around lol
we should buy Shehzad a new camera

@@ThePakistanExperience sir police reforms pe detailed discussion k liye advocate azeezullah khan ( e
x. Police officer) ko invite karein. Ager unko Nahi suna to Facebook se unka page aur contact number mil jaye ga.
Great discussion
Good podcast overall but it all comes down to political economy -> good policies need institutional depth and an inherent societal acceptance of reform -> pakistani politics is fucked up and people's priorities are regressive rather than progressive due to decades of military indoctrination vilifying progressive thinkers -> army excludes 'peace with india' as a lever to extract better deals from chinese and keeps promoting its ideological agenda at the cost of everything else - it has set a precedent to put ideology over pragmatism and everyone who tries to cosy up to the miltablishment demonstrates how ideological and non-pragmatic they are to peacock themselves.
1:20:20 The idea of frequent transfers within a bureaucracy/administration predates colonialism. The Mughals would post their officials quite frequently from one place to another so that they could not build local alliances that could pose a threat to the court. British colonizers weren't big on frequent transfers. They preferred their officials to stay in one place and become an expert of sorts about that place.
Very sensible guy .. Must say !
Simple Focus on a) population control 2) invest in high quality education and health and c) give up and control unproductive cost , wait for 20 years and see results.
That is against two nation theory.
Dear shehzad, you are the BEST. great show. please invite imran khan also.
@@ThePakistanExperience what will we do with the rapper and the actor ;) of course, the prime minister. he is very media friendly (unlike ours).
@@ThePakistanExperience yes, we dont want you to dilute and ask planted qs - the audience on this channel is for an honest conversation, its sad if you say he has changed, he used to be quite liberal here in india. maybe times have changed, or its the requirement of the job as the PM. anyways why don't you invite him and see if he turns up. why should we assume he will not come? or invite Marina Khan on women issues - she is another very inspiring personality.
@@alkaagarwal9998 I hope you have taken into account the media appearances of PM Modi since 2002 and the usual line of questioning , criticism and allegations by the media... If not do it please.
With the current media standards I think every stringent measures are justified.. Free media is a blessing as well as a menace for a society for ours..
3:50 which podcast is he talking about? Where is it available?

@@muhammadsaimali1066 thanks man.
Should've mentioned Pandora papers in title. It's not click bait if you actually discuss it.
The reason i think hes thinking too much is because hes trying to simplify everything as much as possible for the public to understand . Thank you sir
Bhai aaj toh viva le liya apne guest ka. 😂😂

Yaar wo Sanjay Rajaura kb ayega.
Corruption is a component, not an inclusive system. In Pakistan, one thing is overrated and thus consequently other important elements that are contributing to the array of challenges bedevilling Pakistan are underrated thus overlooked and marginalized. A holistic and all-inclusive approach is a sine qua non for the solution of unresolved problems.
People often confound free markets and capitalism. This is a pet peeve of mine. Markets are not god given entities, they are designed. A free market is one where the rules once decided are then allowed to play out. Capitalism is just a name for a particular kind of market where capital is allocated most efficiently. In the world today we do not and cannot have free markets as nation states are responsible for the welfare of their people and constantly need to intervene, changing the rules of the game.
I know this is an unrelated question but, how did you come upon this video? Judging by your name you're not Pakistani. Do you speak Urdu?
And yes your definition of capitalism is very accurate. Although I would disagree that we can't have capitalism today.
Talk straight if you have knowledge if you have information than its the right interview
Please Call Ali sir back on program.
Especially after 3rd term election of Xi Jin ping in China & will the shift of Chinese's Economy from Command to Capitalist is reversing now ?
Will be great to hear from him.
very nice bro but....infinite growth from finite resources can only be the words of either a madman or an economist
I think so ,this is not subsidy who gave peoples senses of wasting resources (water) other than educted sense of using the limited resources .
sir please invite any bureaucrat to your podcast

Please invite professor Mehdi Hassan in this podcast
Agreed

Very smart guy .
Great understanding of Economy.
But it all comes down mindset & leadership , both of which are Jihadi in pakistan.
Dear Shehzad, if you are really interested in understanding economics and subsidies please study New Delhi Government Model of AAP(Aam Aadmi Party) and Delhi Cm Arvind Kejriwal...they have developed a model of free electricity, Free Transportation for Women, Free quality education, Free quality Healthcare system, reduced taxes and still ever increasing budget of the state
I mean no offense but I find that hard to believe. There has yet to be a system that has all these benefits while having low taxes. Unless you compromise on quality.
They have shown that their ideas work. So its no longer mere words or mere theories.
Why don't you study what they have been doing with an open mind and see what you get?
U should read about broken glass theory then u will understand what's going on in Delhi and it will fall on people of Delhi
@@rahulchandak2988 Rahul what's the needless broken glass that Delhi Government first broke and then is expending resources to fix.
Pray, elucidate.
Talk economics than politics.
Bro, your head is a constant distraction in every video with that algorithm chasing it to blur the background.
The hair puts the algorithm to test!
IK gave us (false) hope, forget politics, never give crushed hearts and souls a hope, for a better environment - your failure makes that hope and faith most unbearable. I hope for a people's revolution in PK - the country belongs to the masses not your 22/21.20 (I mean who really gives a ..) families, the top brass of the PK army ; the political parties (all of them) and the industrialist and business men who gain from oppressing the majority of Pakistanis i.e. the new addition to the establishment).

Mian bhi kahon ye banda micro-level examples de k macroeconomic level claims kyon kar rha hai. ABHI JEET BANERJI doesn't know how to formulate macro-level plans to turn a country's struggling economy. He can only tell you why poor don't spend on health, or don't eat more food, etc.
