To the one question: It's difficult to work at Berkshire when you clone Berkshire... it kind of brings an end to a major part of their investment philosophy. Warren doesn't need someone to help him buy what he is buying.
Exactly. The more I investigated the guy the less and less I've been impressed. His only good investments have been by just following BRK into trades (only in a more concentrated portfolio). When he has tried to come up with his own investment ideas he has failed miserably (e.g. ZINC). He's memorized a lot of Buffett quotes from the shareholder letters, but he doesn't really know what he's doing.
Simple formula: Clone the person’s success you want to achieve. In investing this is called side-car investing Whatever you lessons/ tricks/ shortcuts you want to learn about investing has already been learnt by people over decades. They have written books, blogs or made videos. Learn from them before starting to reinvent the wheel. Same goes for other walks of life.
