I love how they capture the whole scene a lot of videos leave the lower body and feet out. Which is very crucial I rewind these videos countless times just to watch the footwork.
This trainer has grade A skills.Ive been watching him for quite some time and with well over 20yrs around the gyms, I can say he knows what he's doing. Teaches the total package. Distance, head movement, fakes, counters, rolls, etc. The is 💯 in my book.👍
Feints and setting traps really are the key to breaking down the shell. If you're a hard puncher, landing shots on the arms, shoulders, can be effective. Also, mirroring can work. It's a very hard style to beat if the guy has blinding speed, good balance and throws good counters.
I love how he was about to say defeat then said attack that was actually really raw I’m watching this cause I’m learning the shell and I got a fight coming up so I wanna practice how to go against my weaknesses
I love his instructions but that kid is sharp, I hope he's not losing site of his future because in all the videos the kid displays discipline and can probably be someone to look for and right now he's at the right age, so put him in the game coach!!!!
Sounds a little tricky! 😁👋👋🎶 This might be asking a lot - and i looked but didn't see in your playlists here - but maybe could you do a video on how/when/where/why you became a trainer? There's tons of videos on boxers and that's great, but there's a mind behind every Boxer that influenced their fighting methods and style right? So if you haven't done a Bio video maybe your could do that some time? And who you favorite boxers/trainers are, if you have any?
Interesting techniques but I also think back to what Rocky Marceano would do, and its different. He would have focused on destroying the front arm, aiming at the elbow joint or forearm.
I think with any set feet defence style like this and head bobbing, the best form of attack is simply change angles, because they need to re set every time to make it work, so cancels out the effectiveness.
Gazelle hook is a good move. But ideally I wouldn't use it because that leaves space for the other guy to bend at the waist. I'm not a professional or even amateur boxer but attacking the Philly shell takes jabs, jab set ups and feints
I would throw the jab slip to the left throw a left hook or throw an over hand right and lean to the left so your not in the middle or I would jab step to the right hit the kidneys with a right hand than throw a left hook . Basically if your fighting someone who is doing the Philly shell is you stay away from the middle so you’re not hit with a right hand or right uppercut
0:10 attack shoulder roll / philly shell defense 0:40 this just one way /many ways to attack it 1:05 he catch jab (back hand ) /roll rt hand / come back with own rt hand 1:45 (break his rythsm ) if he rolls rt hand then come back Then : first time jab rt hand / second : jab fake rt hand then throw rt hand /lft hook 2:25 and he might throw own rt hand /and turn into my shot 3:20 even if he just come back /without punch /he can eat it (if he come back to his set ) 3:55 its all timing 4:05 on pads work it 4:20 I make the fake look like rt hand /make it relastic (but throw it one quarter out) 4:50 bring it out more 5:10 elbows in /one eye 5:40 if I keep getting got with his rt hand /this perfect 6:15 even floyrd who used it /but he will mix it up /know how to disguse it Not sitting same pattern all time / Use faints make him fall in my trap
This strategy should be called the Philly shuck. It's like your opponent is an oyster and you are using the feinted right hand to snatch the pearl that is the opening it creates.
i read hajime no ippo manga and ricardo martinez showed how he attacked billy mccallum’s philly shell guard in his title defense y’all should check it out & ricardo martinez is based off ricardo lopez the light flyweight world champion
This isn't even boxing it's a you tube circus. Not hating but all the work years learning your trade. Becoming an Iconic figure and for $$$ you deminish your shine Not all money is good money.
Watch TKD/Karate style point fighters in mma, they use a similar stance and they aren't ALL suckers for leg kicks bro, experienced fighters have more defensive options and as far as takedowns, who says he doesn't know how to sprawl? Boxers from earlier 1900s used to wrestle also bro
Canelo try that and it didn't work with him Floyd was just ducking the right after the fant And right after canelo try to time the dack under he just grab him And he try to time him coming in to grab Floyd didn't grab or duck he just jump back away from the counter And he control him with the lead hand all night long
Brilliant teacher, admire all your work boss👊🏻👊🏻🥊🥊

Very true. I second that

Talented coach. Very rare these days.
He inspires his pupils. The young man has good form. Kudos to Coach &Pupil

Another great lesson Coach. This is like online studying for a Masters Degree in the Sweet Science... only it's far too much fun for study.
Great Chief! Wise moves!
Sir ,thank you for the new video
GREAT video !! Very insightful
Great video! I ordered some paddles cause of you!

He is and has been in the game! His next major event will be competing in nationals this March.
Nice video quality coach
Thanks champ
Amazing move! And the step forward right after the feint makes it even more effective
Love it. Maybe emphasize that once they roll with that 2, the second time their own straight might be looking for you.
Tomy the best!💪

to avoid any blows, you can simply change angles with this protection
nice to meetyou for new year coach thanks

Yes Footwork is the king of techniques
What about gazelle hook to attack on a philly shell?
If he sees it coming you had better be ready for that counter shot bro, if not then yes he is somewhat vulnerable
@@Cassius-m5v i can throw a cross such a way to block his vision and then go with a powerful gazelle hook like MIKE TYSON😈

Exactly bro Philly shell fighters usually lean towards their back foot
Any vids of him fighting?
0:10 attack shoulder roll / philly shell defense
0:40 this just one way /many ways to attack it
1:05 he catch jab (back hand ) /roll rt hand / come back with own rt hand
1:45 (break his rythsm ) if he rolls rt hand then come back
Then : first time jab rt hand /
second : jab fake rt hand then throw rt hand /lft hook
2:25 and he might throw own rt hand /and turn into my shot
3:20 even if he just come back /without punch /he can eat it (if he come back to his set )
3:55 its all timing
4:05 on pads work it
4:20 I make the fake look like rt hand /make it relastic (but throw it one quarter out)
4:50 bring it out more
5:10 elbows in /one eye
5:40 if I keep getting got with his rt hand /this perfect
6:15 even floyrd who used it /but he will mix it up /know how to disguse it
Not sitting same pattern all time
/ Use faints make him fall in my trap
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There is a tall lanky dude I spar that always drops into the philly shell when I corner him. But he dont know Im watching this video 😂
This strategy should be called the Philly shuck. It's like your opponent is an oyster and you are using the feinted right hand to snatch the pearl that is the opening it creates.
In all actuality faking shots to get a person out of any defensive position can result in landing shots on what's been open.
Ironically, beating up a guy named Danny is what got me into boxing xD… somehow I think this Danny would kick the snot outta me 😅
Could work a time or 2 but someone that’s good at the shell is gonna start slipping the punches
Logan Paul watched this video
Hey coach why do you use those pads instead of the traditional?
sir how should we counter when our opponent is coming forward with two many punches and we are able to see it but does not want to go back
floyd mayweather disliked this
😃😃😃😃
i read hajime no ippo manga and ricardo martinez showed how he attacked billy mccallum’s philly shell guard in his title defense

Lol Logan Paul is watching and frantically taking notes. He’s got no chance to beat Floyd.
And nobody cares either. 😂
@@PhoenixProdLLC Yeah, I honestly think it’s bad for boxing. It’s a mockery at this point.

@@danieltrivino5872 I agree 100%.
This is why I don't roll my shoulders much, I'd rather pullback,..

Yesss. Use it pacquiao
Low kicks, elbows, takedowns to GnP and Subs. Easy..

Chavez defeated Roger Mayweather R.I.P by feting the right hand and creating angels. No boxer 🥊 that I can remember ever fentied the right hand
Roberto Duran was great at it too!
Coach Tom wouldnt that philly counter right hand arrive faster since its already chambered?
Yes I'd you're timing is right bro of course
❤️💪💪💪👌
If the opponent memorizes the defense technique, it is probable that he faints the right hand.
Canelo try that and it didn't work with him
Floyd was just ducking the right after the fant
And right after canelo try to time the dack under he just grab him
And he try to time him coming in to grab Floyd didn't grab or duck he just jump back away from the counter
And he control him with the lead hand all night long
Prove that in front of mayweather
He can hit you with a liver shot.
You cannot punch him, he punches you!
Bend at your waste and foot pivit.
Solid Philly shell maneuver
Nobody can crush Floyd Take it easy
Floyd ain't invincible gtfoh with that bs
Ducked everybody to fight lower opposition
Just put pacquiao there and everybody doing sillyshell will run to permanent retirement. Great demonstration still.
Is not like mayweather
not efective caoch they use one step back while shoulder rolling..
I mean yeah if you notice the fake , of course you can step back , no one's forcing you to stand their and take shot but you also can't ONLY step back
50 try 50 failed
Ooooooo PLEASE, everyone has a phone but we get no recording. Suuuure
