  • See how to disable the seatbelt reminder in the Ford Mustang Mach E! Repeat process to enable it. I always wear my seatbelt but don't need the alarm. Comment below if this worked!

@@CarGuy11 so apparently this doesn’t work if you are using your phone as a key, according to the manual? Did you have your key fob with you when you made this video?

You can also do it through ForSCAN if you have an appropriate OBDII adapter and Windows laptop. Plus you can get rid of some of the other annoying chimes/reminders/indicators (like the yellow snowflake that comes on when it is cold) while you're at it.

What I really hate is the obnoxius honking if it's runnig and the driver gets out and shuts the door. The only workaroud I've found is to buckle that seatbelt before closing the door.

@@CarGuy11 thanks for the quick reply and info.
it's good to know I can do it if I really care to, but at this point, I'd rather not mess with anything like that that's not 100% sanctioned by Ford. I don't want them to have any excuses for servicing, warranty claims, issues with software updates, etc.
mine's currently at the dealer for over a week trying to fix a problem with it not getting software updates as it is (22 MMEPx)

@@nishiki393hey there, 2023 Mustang Mach-E new owner here and was wondering if the dealership was able to resolve the software update issue.
Reason I ask is because both my roommate and I bought a 2023 Mustang Mach-E. However, his received the latest update (the one with the UI changes), while mine has not updated. It did receive the battery optimization update but not the one with the new upper left hand icons.

@@AndroidSpirit Wow congratulation on your new Mach-E's! They are great vehicles, you will love them!
The dealership did tons of troubleshooting and work, and even replaced the communication module just for good measure, but at the end of the day they couldn't get it to update fully either, though they did get some updates applied, but the last one or two they couldn't. But then those ones came through within a couple weeks on their own.
I have since realized that unless your vehicle is like 4 months with no updates, not even worry about it even though it is kind of irritating.
Eventually it almost always updates, and in those cases when it's been a drought for a while, it usually comes in all at once within a couple weeks (all / almost all of them) and then it's pretty much caught up. I don't know what the rhyme or reason is, and it seems most other people don't either.
The updates are highly dependent on the low voltage battery (The little 12 volt battery that's similar to what's in regular ICE cars, the one that runs the in vehicle user information equipment etc like in regular cars) being at a high enough charge. So if you aren't driving the vehicle enough, or are running the end vehicle equipment for a while while in only accessory mode, or have a dash cam that you have hooked up to draw power even when the car is off, and those type of things, It's less likely to update because it's worried it won't have enough battery to complete the update successfully without overdraining the small battery. so if in the vehicle running the accessories I always keep the vehicle actually "running", because similar to an ICE, when the vehicle is on, tt will top up the low voltage battery as needed. I think it also does that if it's charging, so I think that also counts.
other things that help are when you park and leave the vehicle, manually turn off the headlights, roll up all the windows, and make sure all the doors are shut (yes which you normally would do anyway)... and I even lock mine just for good measure if I'm really jonesing for an update, because I know it will update locks but I think it will also update unlocked I'm just not too sure about that.
also after I'm done with a trip and before turning off the vehicle, I will go in and do a manual check for software updates and see if it finds anything... and if it does and it lets you, you can initiate the software update right there and then when you get out it'll count down 2 minutes and then start the update. The good thing about doing that is that the low voltage battery should be quite topped up and won't present any voltage blocks when the system checks for all the prerequisites before update. sometimes it will say something like update not ready and that's the best you can do.
but aside from those little things as far as prerequisites and such, like I said I would just be patient for up to 4 months, and usually it will take care of itself.
taking it to the dealer can present other problems I found out later because they might update modules out of order, and then your car might never update because system states that should never have existed exist and it doesn't know how to proceed. Plus having the dealer work on the car is always a little risk anyway in case they don't put something back together right or whatever else. with any car, but especially with vehicles there a little less familiar with.
If you aren't already I highly suggest you follow the Mach-e Forum (a website) that is like the definitive resource about these type of things from a community-based perspective, also there are a couple of Mach-E subreddits that are good, and the Mach-E Vlog on UA-cam and he also has more recently set up a website to that's all about community and meetups and stuff like that, and Patrick and Liv the owners are freaking awesome, such amazing people and so nice.
Anyway I hope this was helpful. Mainly stress less about the updates, otherwise you are going to have a lot of stress in your life with these because they sort of do their own thing... but they almost always eventually do them within a few months. But having said that these still get far far more updates than pretty much all other OEM vehicles, ICE or EV, so Ford is still doing a pretty great job. I don't stress about updates unless I don't receive them for a long time. I'm currently a couple of months behind but I'm not worried.
